Seeing this video has been so cathartic for me...up till now I thought I was the only person in the UK who forgets to put the bins out.

I have them on my calendar now because there are so many, paper bin every second Thursday, plastic bin every second Tuesday, general waste bin once a mon... shite! I've forgot to put the bins out. Bollocks.

During the pregnancy bit, I forgot what compilation I was watching for a second, so the joke worked the way it was intended for me.

When Armstrong says “Nathaniel! Your daughter’s took ill” he sounds a lot like Laurence Rickard from horrible histories, and this combined with the fact that several actors from that series have appeared in sketches in this made me think it actually was him until I saw it was not him and was actually Armstrong
This is in a similar tangent to the "Kill Them" sketches; a recurring joke where the humour is less derived of the situation, but rather from the subversion of expectations. However, where "Kill them" is positive and goes dark at the end, this starts negative and goes much lighter.
And yet, given there are no empty bins out, they seem to be the only ones who did remember.

How to tell the same joke a dozen times and it still be as funny the last time as the first.
There are many many comics who would dearly love to possess that valuable skill. But then again not many of them wind up as quiz show hosts

I'd forgotten to put the bin out and I was running up the street in my PJs dragging the wheelie bin behind me shouting at the top of my voice and the truck stopped. I have never been so grateful for anything in my entire life.

thought the writers missed a trick with the son coming out sketch.
son confesses to parents who turn out to be caring, loving and understanding about his sexuality.
but then, choking over his tea, he confesses he forgot to take the bins out... followed by mayhem as his folks totally lose it, beat him over the head with inflatable goldfish and other comedy props!
About as funny as a boil.

@@DepakoteMeister That was my point. In humour, I do expect novelty. Sadly, once a style has shown itself to be successful, they do tend to thrash it to death.
@@PhilJonesIII Yet I found every one funny, because I couldn't tell when it was going to happen. Clearly, as originally shown would have been funnier (especially the first one shown).

Doing the same joke repeatedly and consecutively isn't funny. This video was boring after the first part.

That's because it's compilation. Personally I found the juxtapostion of the same joke in contrasting situations made it even funnier, but I guess some miserable people feel compelled to spend their time and energy to complain (which is also funny!)
Well, the last one offered a nice twist with the constabulary unaware of the man loudly exclaiming the fact, right behind him.
its a different type of narrative. if you know the twist/punchline the humour or thrill comes not from what will happen but how it will happen. like a bio pic you know where the famous person ends up but you still can enjoy the film because you get to see how they got there.
