Armstrong's brilliant crestfallen & despairing facial expressions on the revelations of his family history are a masterpiece in comedic skills. He is a genius-as is Ben Miller also. The cream of British comedy acting & writing that we have not seen in a long time.Give them Knighthoods !!!!
I love how insincerely Armstrong plays it at the start. He just cares about his own pride and how he looks on screen. And then you see him genuinely distraught which is even funnier.
I started watching this and thought at first it was Alexander Armstrong’s real WDYTYA! That’s how brilliantly done this is. How on earth did they keep a straight face! They really must have studied the real series so well! Alexander is so fantastic but all credit to the actress too!
A beautifully constructed and acted sketch. Excellent spoof. But please remind me of the name of the archivist woman who pronounces "whore" so well. Katherine Jakeways?
@Bleumange - And people have told you it's not WHO, it's the tv program. The person portrayed doesn't seem to be a parody of someone else. It's the program they are making a parody of.
@Supermassively well, pneumonia has a 'p' in it, but I don't hear anyone pronouncing it 'pee-neumonia', or gnat as 'g-nat'. There are silent letters in every language. Also, you can still hear the 'r' in her pronunciation. So she's just saying the word in a shorter and more clipped way than most north americans.
@Supermassively The English are the masters of the English language. hence 'English'. Pronunciation can differ from spelling it's common practice. If you're not English, and you speak English (obviously with a different accent distorting and deforming our good language) please don't say we're getting it wrong. We wouldn't re-write the rules of baseball and claim you're doing it wrong.
This is brilliant. The rich woman has married leaflet guy because he's industrious, successful, pulled himself out of the gutter, a successful salesman who can turn any negative criticism into a business opportunity. She can see he is more genuine and has more potential than her spoonfed pretentious friends. With a little more encouragement and experience he'll leave them all in the dust.
Yes, I am quite aware of that fact. I am asking if anyone knows where I can find the ACTUAL episode of WDYTYA where Armstrong's family history is researched which I had seen here on youtube some time ago.
@Supermassively english is not a phonetic language and it can't be (think about how many homonyms/heterographs there are and you'll see why). So if you want to speak a phonetic language go and learn Japanese
It keeps repeating in my mind, that calm, soothing and prolonged whooore...😂 Brilliant acting
Just watched this again for the first time in ages - still makes me laugh out loud; brilliant. All credit to that actress as well as Mr Armstrong.
...and again :)
That actress is the lovely Katherine Jakeways.

ENGLish comedy mate. ''Britan'' is NOT a mono-culture. it's a UNION.
The way she says who is just so funny. She has a great way reading all that up from the book and making it sound really funny.
She makes it sound so judgemental, I love it.
yeah the way she says who
Re?

Moved up into management! Lol!!
I started watching this and thought at first it was Alexander Armstrong’s real WDYTYA!

Oh my God, this is hilarious! Spot on spoof, especially if you've watched the original!!!!
When she mentions the 16 year old sister... excellent comedy timing!
I think this could well be the funniest sketch of all time 🤣
The first part is literally what happened in Alex Kingston's episode lol
Moved up into management....much better!
'Would you like a sweet, little boy?'
errrrr..... yeah go on...
What makes it even funnier is the way he says whoore at the same time as her 🤣
Pip pip, keep on smiling, and don’t tell yer parents 🤣🤣
Like they say "you can't pick your family".
Brilliant! He's gonna be on the actual programme this week!
It's funny as, so typically true.
This made me realise how much I enjoyed this series! Thanks very much for uploading. What a sexy, good looking guy he (Alex Armstrong) is!!
A beautifully constructed and acted sketch. Excellent spoof. But please remind me of the name of the archivist woman who pronounces "whore" so well. Katherine Jakeways?
When Armstrong took part in WDYTYA they use a segment of this skit to introduce him, which then made the end of his programme even more dramatic.
It's not an episode of WDYTYA, it's from the Armstrong and Miller show.
funny little phrases, lol...don't tell your parents
"Now then, now then..."
Woot - this is finally happening for real! It'll be great if this turns out right.
@Bleumange - And people have told you it's not WHO, it's the tv program. The person portrayed doesn't seem to be a parody of someone else. It's the program they are making a parody of.
This places all those poncey celebrity programmes exactly where they belong

In reality this is the sort of family history which would stay buried!
So funny makes me laugh every time

Sad but true!!!
It's funny because in his actual Who Do You Think You Are he finds out he is decended from royalty... As we know, all whores :P
@Bleumange - It's a parody of a tv program.
It came true! It came true! :D
This is brilliant. Not one word of this comment makes sense.

Ok I see the problem.
I've put this comment under the wrong sketch. One moment....
@@billythedog-309
OK just search for Armstrong and Miller Ignorant Dinner Party.
I've stuck the comment there now. Hopefully it will make sense!
Today it’ll just be ‘OnlyFans’
Does anyone know where I can find the actual episode of WDYTYA he did here on UA-cam? I watched it here some time ago but now I can't seem to find it.
amazing :)
@Tempest500
Oh no! How shocked you must have been to accidentally click on this video then.
That is funny stuff
Yes, I am quite aware of that fact. I am asking if anyone knows where I can find the ACTUAL episode of WDYTYA where Armstrong's family history is researched which I had seen here on youtube some time ago.
Classic. 5/5

Fantastic video.
@TheSpankymonkey I said WHO
i can't stop laughing roflmao
Hey, is that Hyacinth's husband from that other show?
+Peter LaVigna Richard? He does look like him. I might look into that if I have time.
+Peter LaVigna No, You are thinking of Clive Swift. He's terrific. The Old Guys with Roger Lloyd-Pack shows his talent brilliantly.
who is this a parody of?
Wow is THIS the family legacy? What a pity :-)
:):):):):):)
How did anyone down vote this?
Probably some prostitutes who don't appreciate people making fun of their employment decisions.
gwishart go back far enough you'll find whores, thieves, Pirates, slaves, slave owners and God knows what else in your past!
