It's nice to just have to worry about getting better or deeper at a few different positions that support the gameplan, rather than rebuilding a team in the draft.
They would have had it already had they only drafted Lamar. Instead he ends up on the One Team (okay, the Pats are another) determined to prove you can win super-bowls without a real passing attack. They waste 3 years of an MVP-calibre QB's career attempting this. Had they only drafted Lamar they'd have certainly made it to the AFCCG twice by now & never would have had to chase after Watson. Butterfly effect. Rodgers should have grown tf up a lot quicker & would have been on the #1 defense in the NFL with the Broncos in '22 & Russ could have been a disaster for a worse roster. Had the Jets gone for Fields & been just as bad in '21 they would now also be contenders. Even NFL coaches & GMs make decisions based on media BS. Look at their college tape together ua-cam.com/video/5JO1PsupF_U/v-deo.html & count how many times Williams misplaces the ball causing the receiver to get tackled or have to stop entirely versus Fields. Fields has 2 passes where had they been inches further the receiver *might* have been able to make YAC. Williams? He floats under-thrown passes that force his receivers to have to stand still for several seconds even when not being pressured. Fields' college tape is a tier above Williams' only media didn't tell us he was special so no one thinks it.
Yup. Details like Zinter not drawing penalties are overlooked by too many. I think that PFF also doesn't measure blocks no player on the o-line attempts. I think that they just don't register those even though it would distinguish between play-calling & player execution so they should. I was trying to figure out how the Bears are allowing pass-rushers straight through to Fields on over 1/3 of snaps & yet they're not graded as The Worst line in the league. Aaron Rodgers got injured on One Play with One Defender getting Less Pressure on him than Fields takes every quarter which means QBs like Goff, Brady or Cousins would be in hospital by week 3. The league & NFL fans? "Everything looks okay here." Gotta look closer, folks. After all Fields "holds onto the ball too long," right? Because maybe when you're scrambling the only alternative is to hand the ball over to the other team? Gotta look closer.
We have a lot of good players in years past on the Browns that came from Michigan, and when they did well, people around here will forget that you were once a Wolverine. It's just amazing how mortal enemies in college, but then become teammates in the NFL
Not a Browns fan but, Browns hired our former GM Bob Quinn though it didn't work out, this guy has a eye for talent almost all his drafted players are still playing from when he was with us in fact he the reason why our O-line is top 5 Detroit Lions
Fair or not, Berry’s tenure will be measured by only one deal. The deal with Houston where the Browns gave up about 12 quality picks for the right to pay Watson a small fortune. Up to this point, it has simply been the worst trade in the history of professional sports. I sure hope that changes over the next few years, but I am not optimistic.
Berry sucks at drafting. Not one probowler in all 5 drafts he was part of for the Browns. Infact, if you do your homework. theams around the Browns selections by Andy Berry are probolwers selections everywhere. Example Takes Jed Wills ten and the Bucs take Tristin Wirfs at thirteen 3 picks later at 13. He took Grant Delpit in the 2nd round and one pick later the Bucs snagged another probowler in Antoine Winfield. Berry passed on TJ Wyatt twice for losers Njoku and Jabril Peppers. He paased on Mahomes and passed on Cooper Kupp several times when the kid was on the NFL Network nearly every day before the draft. Andy Berry did not offer any of his picks second contracts this year cause they sucked. Harrison Bryant...Elliot Jordan....Winfrey....Javcob Phillips all losers.
Nick Chubb was a Dorsey pick
Berry keeps on finding gems in the draft. In my opinion, this draft is his best.
AB knows what he’s doing, I like hall he’s quick and will grow a lot being with our vets
He's still a baby too!
May wanna watch the combine and pro day. He's 6'3 290.
EVEN BETTER!!

Browns had a very good Draft!! 👍👍🏈🏈🏈🏈🏈🏈🏈😎
Great break downs !!! Love the big athletic line we have formed both sides . All glory to JESUS king of kings 🫡
The Browns are building a dynasty.
Baby steps...still need them to win the North

Two great picks that also address needs.
Views going up cuz! I see you working!🎉
Excellent draft!
Take off!
Back from vacation and it’s above me dropped 😱
Here we go Brownies, here we go!
I would have liked Cade Stover and used a 7th on Steele Chambers.
I was eyeing stover as well. I wish he could have been picked up.
Love your podcast! You’ve got a new subscriber. Christ is King!!!
Berry didn’t draft Chubb.
Good breakdown
