I just found these videos of yours and I have to say I'm quite impressed.. You've really put a lot of thought into these additions and designs. I have the same vehicle and live on the road out of my jeep spending the summers camping and winters snowboarding. I'd love to get your input about possibly adding many of these mods into my WK2. Let me know if you still have/use all these additions (tire cary, roof rack and tent, internal slide organizer and lift, water pump, etc.)
Nicely done. An upgrade would be to install a sending unit in the tank and connect it to a water Gauge so you can see the water level. I built a similar system for my 2018 wk2 with a 10 gal tank.
Absolutely love this, and it's relatively inexpensive to boot. Can you throw me a link to the harness that you used for your power, it's the only bit I haven't been able to find online 🙏
Hi, thanks for the question. My original plan was actually to put a jerry can to carry fuel next to it. I may still go that route but if not I will probably go with a larger water tank. Could probably fit a 15-20 gallon tank without too much trouble.
The tank is not pressurized so if it does freeze, it won't burst anything. I did hook up one of those heating element that are used for RV tanks but haven't really tested out if it works well as I live in south texas and it doesn't get that cold often.
Thanks! It opens up options for camping. I don’t need a site with water. And since I have my camp kitchen pullout, having water for cleaning right there is nice. It’s also super convenient when going to the beach and what not. It’s easy to rinse any sand etc.
When I lived at the beach I was an avid kitesurfer. Cleaning sand off of your gear when packing up is a constant battle (and keeping your vehicle from becoming a total sandbox). I bought a portable RinseKit to help, but a setup like the one here would have been sooooo much better. I may do something like this on my WK2 but may make it more modular so I can take it out in the winter.
Hi there, here's the link for the water tank i used. www.amazon.com/dp/B07JNFWY89/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_72FNW1WYC6RQY0Y5QJQ4?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 And here's the pump. www.amazon.com/dp/B00WYMC492/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_TXA50RGEZ2A4TJP2K8WQ?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 Hose. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0793C3DGC/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Genius! You are quite the craftsman. Nicely done. Just curious, what are you running for rims and tires (sizes) and do you have a lift or just using the OEM air ride?
Hi, thank you! My rims are the stock rims for the high altitude model. I do have the air suspension, no mods there. The tires are a 285/50/20 nitto terra grappler. So just slightly wider than stock size. Gives it a more appealing stance without messing with spacers.
Hi, thank you! It’s a 5 gallon tank, so about 20 litres. Yes I made the hydraulic setup. It’s in one of my other videos called custom rear cargo area. Here’s the link if you want to check it out ua-cam.com/video/HCCAg5M-Io8/v-deo.html.
Awesome vid. This is what inspired me to add water tanks to my wk2.
That infotainment harness is awesome! I’m using two to connect my dash cam. Love what you’ve done here!
Nice install! Thanks for taking the time to create this video!!

Great project. Please post your product links. Like the charger. You could be getting commission on Amazon purchases.

That’s awesome dude! Like those wheels too.
Thanks! Yeah, those are my favorite of all the stock grand Cherokee wheels. One of the reasons I purchased this model.

@@totisviribus2616 awesome
Super cool!
Excellent use of the dead space under the Jeep. Any plans to make a wider tank that will completely fill in the space to increase your water supply?

How do you stop the water freezing and breaking the hose and tank?
The tank is not pressurized so if it does freeze, it won't burst anything. I did hook up one of those heating element that are used for RV tanks but haven't really tested out if it works well as I live in south texas and it doesn't get that cold often.
Is it dangerous putting the water pump that close to the amplifier?
Very ambitious and creative. I don't think I could do this. But, why do you want a water tank in your car? Did you explain that?

How is the water pump doing by now?
The Pump is actually still good. The battery died recently though.
Do you have any links for the products? Especially the water tank and pump!

@@totisviribus2616 Thank you! They look great! Keep up the awesome mods. You’re an inspiration for us WK2 owners. Thanks again
What's tires did you put on? Did you lift or lower w/ airlinks?
They are nitto terra Grapplers 285 50 20. no other modification. i have the air suspension.
Great install!!
How many litres was that tank?
Also, the hydraulic boot set up, did you install that yourself?
