I am new to Carplay and I am using iphone. AFter installation CarPlay to my car, everything seems fine EXCEPT the phone function, the Carplay recognises incoming and outgoing calls on screen notification. BUT it seems no sound coming to the car speaker and I cannot pick up incoming calls from the Carplay (although the incoming notification appears there). All other functions for music, podcast, map seem fine. Your video looks great and I will try. BTW, does the issue also happen in iPHONE ? Thanks.謝謝

I did all that you do and in the first time it works great! but when I turn off the car and connect again the carplay (by usb) the problem come back, and of course the bluetooth is turned off

You can check if your phone also connected to OEM Bluetooth or not ? If yes, disconnect the OEM Bluetooth connection. When using CarPlay, it not allow to use Bluetooth ( original car Bluetooth or android Bluetooth).
That makes no sense. When using the call on Apple CarPlay people cant hear me well becuase is not connecting to the OEM microphone so what’s the point?

I have a meecedes ML 350 my headunit 662, every time android auto starts I have to shut off calls on FCS bluetooth to be able to answer the calls on OEM bluetooth that is also connected since is better quality than the headunit. Is there a better way to do this so I can aswer the calls through car OEM And still have android auto on headunit ?
Hi paul, lovely video. I am using the mmi box for my 2018 bmw 335. It uses the evo unit but the issue for me is everything works perfectly apart from when someone calls me or i call someone I can hear them but they cannot hear me. Do you know what this could be?
Paul, I haave autokit wireless. in BMW M3 music works perfectly, text message works perfectly Siri talks to me through BMW Factory speakers, However I cannot send or recieve phone calls. I have deleted my phone from the OEM side. when I make a call from carplay the carplay screen is there but when it connects it jumps to OEM screen side and then no sound. wireless carplay works in text messages through factory speakers but phone does not. Have sound and touch screen does not work to answer or hang up. In factory setting Bluetooth is in android not BMW . Could dongal or head unit be bad? any input would be appriciated.

There is a setting in the “ autokit “, before connected the CarPlay , you can click “ autokit “ setting icon, inside , or have a phone type , you should set as “ compatible “, it will be ok

In fact , with or without OEM Bluetooth is not the key thing, when you connect CarPlay or using the Bluetooth from Android screen ( android Bluetooth), you need to make sure : it is in AUX mode .
So you are connecting through FM transmitter? Go to phone and turn off the calls and media for the android auto device, it will still work have to do it every time you start it until a fix is out

I am using the built in CarPlay Zlink. The unit came with an external adapter that hooks into the harness via a 2.5 audio plug that I plugged into the factory installed car play usb plug. I have a Mercedes 2018 GLC 300 . I recently upgraded from a XS pro iPhone to the iPhone 15. I had no issues with CarPlay with older phone.

after connected, it can turn off the bluetooth, but first must pair the bluetooth , then it change to a wifi siginal (must turn on your wifi in the phone).

Our model with built in microphone, no need to install. If you not heard well, you can check the “ call volume “ setting and “ mic gain “ in factory setup menu .
Your videos are great!! When i receieve a phone call on my android auto it takes me to the android phone call screen and not the android auto phone screen. How can i sort this? Because when my phone call has ended it tries to boot zlink up and sometimes it doesnt work. I have few experience in android phone, when I check my iPhone, click “ notifications “ / “ iPhone “ , in the below, it have a option call “ CarPlay “, I set to “ on”, that means : when any phone calls coming , it allow the “notification “ show on “ CarPlay “ mode, you can take a check your android phone, to see if any options similar like this , allow the notification show on “ android auto”…
I have this problem. When I'm using android auto maps and someone calls me the headunit displays the call on top of android auto and I can't see the maps till the call is finished
when making the calls, the calls is priority, this is the design , just like, when you reverse the car, the backup camera or parking system is priority, that is the design.@@blkedge220
When I remove oem bluetooth.... and use zlink ( android auto) my music stutters constantly. Ive tracked it down to zlink being attached to android via wifi link and it keeps trying to connect to Bluetooth. Switching on and off. If I turn Bluetooth OFF the music and maps work perfectly. But then I cannot recieve calls! Any Ideas what is causing this?

@HifimaxOfficial i can disable the oem bluetooth. Thats not the issue. Im not connected to the oem bluetooth. My issue is zlink using the android bluetooth. When zlink opens it uses bluetooth. Then, once open switches to android wifi direct link. But stays connected to the android bluetooth for calls. For some reason, zlink doesnt like this and permanently stutters in musoc on android auto until I disable the bluetooth link to zlink. Once I disable the bluetooth link android auto works flawlessly. ( although I lose ability to take calls because of lack of bluetooth. )

I didnt got any of these codes So can yoh please let me know what is the activation code . I also set the time zone of India Because i am from indian So kindly help me with this issue.
This Zlink need the hardware to support it, and normally the code is from your supplier, that is not a free software. I share this update is for our model ( who have bought the models from us), if you bought from other sellers ( or your model is totally different to our model), you should get the update from your supplier.
Great video! My issue is exactly like yours. I can hear music, send messages on Carplay. However, if I get a call and answer by touching screen I cannot hear caller. However, caller can hear me. But when I get a call and answer via steering wheel button I can hear caller fine. I can make calls via voice command too. So, I'm okay answering calls via steering wheel button.
This didnt work for me. Ive got a Mercedes CLA 5.0 NTG. Installed a similiar android screen. Music is all fine during Apple Carplay. But the moment i get a phone call, there is no sound. Also when i get the phone call i hear no ringtone sound. But when the phone call ends music plays again like nothing happend. Anybody has similiar issue and solved this?

Check the microphone connection or settings. And when you using CarPlay ( from MMI box ), the phone not connected to original car Bluetooth

Go to autokit , click setting , click advance settings, find the “ Car Audio Properties”, choose "compatible"

When using CarPlay , the call is work via CarPlay .
So is car play not connecting via Bluetooth? So am I okay just to turn off Bluetooth ok my phone? And Car play will still work?

you can check the setting of Zlink (carplay)app, in the setting, there is one option call "MIC Loopback", you should set to "none"

I've successfully erased the Bluetooth device, but the handle button is set to Android Bluetooth, so why not?

No but when I use the real android auto on my work van. It put the call info at the side or the bottom of the screen and you can still use the maps.

You using the external CarPlay dongle ? Or using the built in CarPlay Zlink ? They are different situation.
