Your teaching skills are top notch (coming from a retired teacher). Some run the water spigot for a min or so w/o hooking up so debris doesn't clog their water filter.
Great video for everyone even none Scampers. You should add a section at the beginning about hooking up the electrical and the importance of plugging in with the breakers off and using a surge protector & post it out for all TT/RVers, especially us newbies :)

Your videos have been really informative! I bought a 2017 13’ Scamp last year and really was a bit intimidated about using it. Your information has given me some added confidence in tackling the fear. I am rarely afraid of things but felt like I was going to break something by using it wrong. I know, I know….dumb. I have an aussiedoodle so a dog video would be killer.

I really appreciate how easy it is to winterize and the built-in anti freeze safety feature. But yeah... sometimes I miss my previous water heater. There was nothing like a hot shower right at the trailhead after backpacking for a week or more. Total luxury.

Do you know if Scamp still offers the tanked heater as an option? They are more of a pain to maintain, but it seems like they will be a better choice if you like to boondock.
That's a great question. I'm not sure. I do know they aren't crazy difficult to swap out if you have the room for it. But I don't mind the tankless option. The "instant" hot water is nice when we have full hookups and when we are off the grid I usually just heat water on my Coleman stove. It is a very efficient alternative for everything except a hot shower.
I have a 2018 13 ft no bath. When opening gray tank do you just empty into bucket and then dispose in a bathroom? Great video. I’ve not found info regarding tanked water heater do you have resource for that
Thanks so much. When I just use my gray tank I still dump it as demonstrated in this video. I suppose you could try using a bucket but I'd be worried about overflow. The gray water is still really smelly so using the hose directly into a dump station is the best practice. Thank you so much for the constant updates! Have you found any solutions for expanding the fresh water tank capacity? For boondocking, 12 gallons is just not enough. I've been wondering what others do. I've considered buying water jugs/bladders and then filling up the tank but not sure if there are any other solutions out there.

It takes a bit of work since it only filters 3L at a time but the system is very compact and uses gravity to do the filtering. You can see the stripped down version I use for backpacking discussed in one of my old backpacking vids but I am working on a off grid/boondocking video so stay tuned. You can see the filter and collection bag I use in this video. I just got two 3L Cnoc bags (instead of the 2L and water bottle seen in this video) to use as my Scamp boondocking filter setup: ua-cam.com/video/oVX9Thc5L_o/v-deo.html
