I brought conan years ago played it while found it too hard , years later i got inro ark and learned to love hardcore survival then i heard sorcery update came out for conan so cameback when the age of sourcery first started and been playing ever since love it Only issue i had before originaly was i just wasnt as patient for hard games back then but as i grew as a gamer hard survival became my go to game style so conan became one my most played games pretty fast
They should do what they are doing to Ark 1 and give Conan a Unreal Engine 5 remake/update. Conan would run SO much better and would definitely look even better in Uni 5. I doubt that happens with them pretty much moving on to the Dune game. But this game could be revived with a Unreal Engine 5 remake/update for sure!
8 minute video and no mention of the fact that the combat is still janky as fuck? I really like Conan Exiles and the Conan setting is really well executed in this game, but the combat, both pvp and pve, is really low quality compared to a Souls game.
U start playing pve and love it! But you start to feel you want more of a challenge! You keep bettering your pvp skills and building better bases👌 you fell in love in the game❤️ then you find yourself in middle of server war and you defend your base sucsesfully against plus 10 man alliance, weeks go by and you feel like you are on top of the world!! Then big alliance feels hopeless when they cannot win so they spam reports to get you banned.. best game i ever played but worst company..
Question is the game alive is on console? I tried looking for servers but the most I found was about three official servers with 20 people. Is 20 the most you’ll find now?

Bought it for 5 Euros on sale and having the time of my life! Singleplayer. Beautiful landscapes, weighty combat with stamina, insanely good crafting and building system, excellent music. The whole atmosphere is very unique. Exploring the world, laying bosses, collection stuff, doing dungeons, upgrading weapons is a lot of fun. Journey system leads through the game but not too much handholding.
No it been fell off from stupidness and greed. They took too long to develop, correct and make the game good, sadly they didn't care for a long time, therefore they compensated by creating a more costly way of getting cosmetics and other essentials.

@@raah5583 From my experience, survival games are better on PC’s. It’s difficult to compare the massiveness of Conan Exiles to Valheim, but Valheim just had a different feel to it, especially when you were sailing across the waters into the unknown for the first time.

This really is one of those games that wasn't much on release, but became a great one since the devs actually gave a shit and committed to improving and continuously adding more content for free. Not to mention the modding community which has made even more things possible. Definitely still a game worth playing in 2023!
Conan is a great game. I was playing with my two friends recently, and the new Sorcery update was pretty dope. Hopefully, they gonna fix some bugs and polish the game. Now I can rate Conan Exiles 8/10
Back when I played, I leveled up a cimmerian berserker to 20 and gave them blade of the adventurer. Then they fell through the map out in the red desert and died making their loot unrecoverable. The log said “thrall died.” Not “died to x.” Lol.
The reason why I stopped playing the game is because I feel the map is too big for just 40 people and I see no action. I rather just play rust but I might give it another shot.
Ya know, when he said that you started the game off naked, I thought he meant no equipment or no armor, not actually butt ass naked. Also edit: if you're on PC or Xbox, get the game. If you're playing on Playstation, don't bother, It's a laggy mess.

ultimate pack is good, if on sale, it contains the base game and all of the glc's, wich are amazing, but if you arent overly into cosmetics and unique building, not worth it

Last time i played was a bit before age of sorcery. Basically everything that looks cool is paid content and you only really can build the basic stuff. And personally the prices are kinda absurd for what you get

This game is NOTHING like it was when it 1st came out.. Back in the day Conan you couldn't drag thralls in warter you had to build a bridge every time you wanted to get a thrall over a body of warter 😂 😂😂 the good old and very frustarlted Conan days And theres so much moore . 😂😂
have they improved pathing at all? i played the game several years back, and i did enjoy it some. but i found that pets would get stuck, thralls would get stuck, enemies would get stuck, and i would get stuck ----- and this happened fairly often. enough that i quit playing as it just became frustrating.
The thralls issue is still there. I don't think it'll ever be fixed tbh. I don't remember having issues getting stuck, save maybe like... once... in hundreds of hours played, so I can't speak to that.

I'm really interested in Conan Exiles but I don't like having the player break and enslave people. My power fantasy is being able to save and help people. Are there any mods that give other options for recruiting NPCs? Maybe something like rescuing them from other NPC groups or some sort of negotiation?
Well not true actually. if you wanted to play with that fantasy, there are mercenary traders, you could instead get those and then just think of it as liberating them making them free men citizens :P
From my experince it was terrible. Of course this was from 2018 but i disliked how spongey enemies,dungeons didnt work,constant crashing during in game and menu,constant glitching through the wall when climbing causing instsnt death,weapons that felt like you we're using a wiffel ball bat,tamed animals and thralls would disappear, T posing enemies,sky glitching and framdrops up the wazoo. Then i participated ina. Pvevp server and had my house broken into when i had nothing good. *Yeah its a pvpve server, what'd i expect?* To fight players and enemies but my house was in a mountain,a crappy looking hutt next to a spider dungeon. That not only was i raided but almost everyone rlse in the server. This clan was abusing a bug with the bombs? That increased it's destruction ten fold, all it'd take was 1 guy to do it. I was upset but then i befriended 2 neighbors who also had their house broken into/destroyed, we became friends then traveled to an admins house? Built into a mountain. Dude had everything, all his pets,thralls and such all outside. It was like a market. Then there was a bridge,blue torches and guards leading to his little domain. He let us in, hooked us up, took us up north to the highlands and gave us a hideout that had an elevator. It was sick and an experience ill forever cherish with the game. However many of the issues i mentioned previously overtook me so i dropped the game. Wasn't to happy when i discovered the bomb thing either and that it had been an issue for apmost a year up to thst, it told me that the devs didnt care to much about fixing these exploits. Was thinking of returning oerhaps for a PvE server instead? But eh. Not a fan of having to buy expansions for games like exiles? Eventually it gets overwhelming, i genuinely thought the game died back then since there was no major update at the time asides adding new NPCs. Glad the game is still around but, woof. Some of the stuff i went through has spoiled my experience. Not my crappy little hutt being destroyed but the bugs, exploits and crashing on console.
Im looking for weeks now for a game as conan exiles with recruiting npc's, there are really none. Conan exiles change my view to other games. Dont even like other games without recruit system. The only bad thing is the graphic is very bad. They need to turn in into something more modern.
Being that it's a hardcore survival game, it's sooooo much more solo-friendly than ARK is. You can summon gods as a solo and wipe inactive alpha bases without too much difficulty.
Why does the combat suck in every survival game? The game feels too clunky for me. I tried just because i love Conan, but man what a wasted opporturnity to create a good RPG in a cool setting....
Is it any good singleplayer too? I recently played Grounded and loved it, and this sounds rather similar, and the thrall system sounds amazing too. Just not sure if it's balanced around being done solo since you're talking about playing on a server.

Obviously a pve player's review. You're also giving funcom a lot of credit for constantly messing up their game every time they attempt to update it. Need to take a more critical look at this game and the company that we were all unfortunate enough to get saddled with. It can be fun but you are overlooking a metric fuckton of issues just about the base game, pve vs pvp aside.
I am on ps5 and got conan when it was released on ps4. is it still very much a game that has clunky mechanics such as statue like creatures that are incredibly unresponsive? it seemed to be more of a pve game than pvp, am i still correct? might see if my friends want to give it another shot as in concept it seems like a brilliant game that was executed quite poorly (on console at least). The jarring thing i found about conan was the lifelessness in the game. i found it difficult to find other players and the in game enemies were really robotic. hopefully this has changed
I mean I will try it out but in the first minutes of Gameplay I realise that the fps drops hard sometimes on a ps5.... I dont know how long I can think about that away....
They should make this game 60fps on ps5 it’s locked to 30 and it’s feels sluggish, also I think the game should go free to play like destiny and sell cosmetics and dlcs like they are already doing

the only thing i didn't like when I played it a few years ago was the static spawns of mobs. it felt a bit stale because of it always knowing that crocodile would spawn outside my house near the river every time

awww man the combat system does not interest me if it was atleast like new worlds being the minimum i would definitely try it but only being able to dodge block and attack not much to it just attack dodge and repeat.

ya there is a story to leave, but if you do , you lose everything...and that depends on the community, pve communities, or pve-p do dungeons a ton, pvp tend to not
I liked it better before sorcery. Once they did the sorcery update I was lost. Haven’t looked back. It’s better because you have to dedicate crazy hours to that game. I arson’s is better anyway
6000 hr in ark, 1000 in atlas, 400 in Conan, 300 in Valheim (upto boss b4 mistlands). All of these game are different and special in thete own way. I play solo on my own to myself dedicated server. My comments on Conan. Ive done all but the wine cellar. Not done a purge or siptah. 1) There's no believing your any kind of good guy in this game. All religions (bar Crom) and sorcery require a large amounts of sacrifices. 2) you will run out of new things to do. Ie get all the sorcery spells, get all the recipes, get all the armour and weapons. Visit every location. Finish every journey. 3) progression ends about 2/3rd of the way through the game. You've made the Keystone, you have armour and weapons that are the best. I don't think much of the armour or weapons in the warmakers sanctuary, obsidan and black ice weapons arent anything special and so on. And i think i have at least doubles of every legendary item / drop.
With mods like Age of Calamitous it adds so much more. Running about 25 mods myself at the moment and there is a insane amount of things to do especially with the AOC overhaul.
As an example of how much it ahs changed the "mini-Quest System" mentioned in the first 5 minutes no longer exists. It has been replaced with a much less passive and far more involved system of Journeys.

Tbh the game looks great, the biggest gripe i have with it is the netcode. Animals shouldn't teleport when there are more than 20 people on the server

Yes it is, compared to a souls game, but compared to rust, or ark, games in the same genre it's a step forward

Are there any mods that give other options for recruiting NPCs? Maybe something like rescuing them from other NPC groups or some sort of negotiation?

Well not true actually. if you wanted to play with that fantasy, there are mercenary traders, you could instead get those and then just think of it as liberating them making them free men citizens :P
You can buy thralls I believe now. That could be your way of rescuing the thralls from slavers

From my experince it was terrible. Of course this was from 2018 but i disliked how spongey enemies,dungeons didnt work,constant crashing during in game and menu,constant glitching through the wall when climbing causing instsnt death,weapons that felt like you we're using a wiffel ball bat,tamed animals and thralls would disappear, T posing enemies,sky glitching and framdrops up the wazoo. Then i participated ina. Pvevp server and had my house broken into when i had nothing good. *Yeah its a pvpve server, what'd i expect?* To fight players and enemies but my house was in a mountain,a crappy looking hutt next to a spider dungeon. That not only was i raided but almost everyone rlse in the server. This clan was abusing a bug with the bombs? That increased it's destruction ten fold, all it'd take was 1 guy to do it. I was upset but then i befriended 2 neighbors who also had their house broken into/destroyed, we became friends then traveled to an admins house? Built into a mountain. Dude had everything, all his pets,thralls and such all outside. It was like a market. Then there was a bridge,blue torches and guards leading to his little domain. He let us in, hooked us up, took us up north to the highlands and gave us a hideout that had an elevator. It was sick and an experience ill forever cherish with the game. However many of the issues i mentioned previously overtook me so i dropped the game. Wasn't to happy when i discovered the bomb thing either and that it had been an issue for apmost a year up to thst, it told me that the devs didnt care to much about fixing these exploits. Was thinking of returning oerhaps for a PvE server instead? But eh. Not a fan of having to buy expansions for games like exiles? Eventually it gets overwhelming, i genuinely thought the game died back then since there was no major update at the time asides adding new NPCs. Glad the game is still around but, woof. Some of the stuff i went through has spoiled my experience. Not my crappy little hutt being destroyed but the bugs, exploits and crashing on console.

i think so, sorcery in this game is like "real" sorcery where its not quite as abundant in fantasy rpgs, more like "mythical" sorcery
I love it..... But fucking Christ is it big, like I can't keep it plus other even average sized games. Honestly kinda depressing.
Im looking for weeks now for a game as conan exiles with recruiting npc's, there are really none. Conan exiles change my view to other games. Dont even like other games without recruit system. The only bad thing is the graphic is very bad. They need to turn in into something more modern.
Being that it's a hardcore survival game, it's sooooo much more solo-friendly than ARK is.
You can summon gods as a solo and wipe inactive alpha bases without too much difficulty.
Why does the combat suck in every survival game? The game feels too clunky for me. I tried just because i love Conan, but man what a wasted opporturnity to create a good RPG in a cool setting....
Do I need to buy all the DLC? Or would the base game be enough now that Funcom went with a season pass model?

Is it any good singleplayer too? I recently played Grounded and loved it, and this sounds rather similar, and the thrall system sounds amazing too. Just not sure if it's balanced around being done solo since you're talking about playing on a server.

Not just because it is the most appealing to me, but I have and always will love the lore of Conan. First VHS I ever had was good ole Conan the Barbarian, (the proper version with Schwarzenegger).

Obviously a pve player's review. You're also giving funcom a lot of credit for constantly messing up their game every time they attempt to update it. Need to take a more critical look at this game and the company that we were all unfortunate enough to get saddled with. It can be fun but you are overlooking a metric fuckton of issues just about the base game, pve vs pvp aside.

I am on ps5 and got conan when it was released on ps4. is it still very much a game that has clunky mechanics such as statue like creatures that are incredibly unresponsive? it seemed to be more of a pve game than pvp, am i still correct? might see if my friends want to give it another shot as in concept it seems like a brilliant game that was executed quite poorly (on console at least). The jarring thing i found about conan was the lifelessness in the game. i found it difficult to find other players and the in game enemies were really robotic. hopefully this has changed

I mean I will try it out but in the first minutes of Gameplay I realise that the fps drops hard sometimes on a ps5....

They should make this game 60fps on ps5 it’s locked to 30 and it’s feels sluggish, also I think the game should go free to play like destiny and sell cosmetics and dlcs like they are already doing

the only thing i didn't like when I played it a few years ago was the static spawns of mobs. it felt a bit stale because of it always knowing that crocodile would spawn outside my house near the river every time

Playing on official is bad, very bad, host or play on a private and it is almost flawless, play on a funcom official server it is trash

awww man the combat system does not interest me if it was atleast like new worlds being the minimum i would definitely try it but only being able to dodge block and attack not much to it just attack dodge and repeat.
I have just two questions. First, is there an end to the story such as being able to escape the exile lands? Secondly, how active is the community in group play for dungeons?
ya there is a story to leave, but if you do , you lose everything...and that depends on the community, pve communities, or pve-p do dungeons a ton, pvp tend to not

I liked it better before sorcery. Once they did the sorcery update I was lost. Haven’t looked back. It’s better because you have to dedicate crazy hours to that game. I arson’s is better anyway

I'm new to this game and I absolutely love it.
This games art style reminds me so much of ESO
6000 hr in ark, 1000 in atlas, 400 in Conan, 300 in Valheim (upto boss b4 mistlands).
All of these game are different and special in thete own way.
I play solo on my own to myself dedicated server.
My comments on Conan. Ive done all but the wine cellar. Not done a purge or siptah.
1) There's no believing your any kind of good guy in this game. All religions (bar Crom) and sorcery require a large amounts of sacrifices.
2) you will run out of new things to do. Ie get all the sorcery spells, get all the recipes, get all the armour and weapons. Visit every location. Finish every journey.
3) progression ends about 2/3rd of the way through the game. You've made the Keystone, you have armour and weapons that are the best. I don't think much of the armour or weapons in the warmakers sanctuary, obsidan and black ice weapons arent anything special and so on. And i think i have at least doubles of every legendary item / drop.
With mods like Age of Calamitous it adds so much more. Running about 25 mods myself at the moment and there is a insane amount of things to do especially with the AOC overhaul.

As an example of how much it ahs changed the "mini-Quest System" mentioned in the first 5 minutes no longer exists. It has been replaced with a much less passive and far more involved system of Journeys.
