Something Id like to point out - unlike the infantry, psychic guidance buffs the wraithlords BS and WS, rather than buffing the hit roll. That means that guide/vengeful dead tokens stack with its psychic guidance so the Wraithlord and knight will hit on 2s against anything that’s been tokened or guided
So I tried the list against an Ork War Horde last night, 3x Wraith cannons, 1x D-sythe, 2 Waveserpents, 2 Lords, 1 of each blade. warlock conclave with farseer, farseer on bike and 3 spirit seers did the sustained thing on the lords 3 hits off two brighlances is amazing. D-sythes deleted 2 20man units and was just carving up everything. warlock conclave distruction just owned anything that got too close. D-sythes are just what they used to be. whole thing was like running 8th ed Wraithhost. Gaz and Mikari, a beast boss and a war rig on 1W was all he had left, I had the 3 full units of Wraith Cannons and a spiritseer. Lists are going to be nuts
Hello! Great video as always! Very instructive, I think I will definitely try the detachment, even if it doesn't seem as strong in direct comparison to some of the others from the codex. What would help the video a lot would be if you, for example, Show the enhancements directly in the video when you talk about them. That would help a lot to make it even more understandable. Thanks for your videos, they have always helped me!
This is awesome!! I have been waiting for this video, lol. I am SUPER excited about this detachment. I'm building an army based on some custom Saim-Hann lore I've created, and it's gonna be almost all bikes and wraith constructs (cause that's what I love!) I'll have lists I can build for either the Spirit Conclave detachment or the Windrider Host. This content is incredibly helpful in thinking through how to do that! Thanks!!
"The Hemlock blends the psychic abilities of its Spiritseer pilot" -> The hemlock should have the same rules as the normal spiritseer, and psy guidance, in doing so it would hit at +3 with sustained hits of 1, and heal itself.
This one isn't for my collection, at least not until Combat Patrol magazine gives us bargain basement wraiths later this year. Looking forward to part V!
Throw a farseer conclave on center objective from a falcon, walk wraith guard forward. Sticky objective 5++ storm guardians, warp spiders. Backfield reapers and ra. X3 lords with spirit seers, x2 farseer bikes. Or somethin like that... dont have the points in front of my to math it out yet
There are 3 main parts I vibe with in Eldar, Harlequins, Wraiths, Phoenix Lords, and gotta say GW have done a nice job making them feel special and unique.
Brent, let me sell you the Aeldari missile launcher. It is the best weapon in the game... On a Dark Reaper Exarch. Hits on 2, 48" range, ignores cover. That's it, great video as always!
Thanks for the video, it was very interesting ! I especially like the idea of disposable warlocks, but do you think playing conclaves would be as interesting as playing skyrunners? They could use their torrents with some efficiency before dying
@@WBConcilio I see, thanks. I thought that the fact that they are not "character" in conclave could also prevent the opponent from scoring on it. These new detachments are fun to study in any case, thanks for your work : )
I think people are sleeping how good wraithguard with scythe's are in non spirit host detachments (dodging the BS4) as a brick of stats. I think using WG in a Wave serpent pushing a midfield objective, then laddering a trailing infantry unit into the transport you just vacated with tricks seems like a spicy threat.
I'm really trying to decide on my arrangement of wraith infantry. Do you think the wraithblades with sword really just outclass the axes? I think I definitely want two units with the swords, but I am still considering a third blades unit with the axes
Thanks really appreciate these videos as I plan my Space Elves army. I think you missed the breakdown of the Wraith blades. Really interested in Swords Vs Axes...
Great video! I think Guardian Battlehost is my go to for my Ulthwé but also love the idea of a Spirit Conclave for my secondary. Would you halve you army list suggestion for 1,000pts or are there other considerations? Feels like a couple of wave serpents are still useful even with battle focus.
First draft of my list has a hemlock in it. It will probably not be great but damn if Im not gonna at least try. Do you feel waveserpents are needed at all or can we footslog it?
Im just starting to collect Aeldari. I originally thought Id go with full aspect warrior list, but a friend got me a wraithknight for Christmas and I just HAVE to use it. this might be the detachment for me.
I can't help but think 1-2 units of axes and shields would be necessary. As any army with high ammounts of melta or damage 3 shooting like Knights, Gaurd or Tau would be able to clear wraiths from objectives with out too much trouble.
At the risk of getting emotional about the wraithknight... Suncannons have a 48" range, i.e. if you're within *24"* of your target, you're getting 2d6 (re-rolling) +8 (with blast) S10, -3 AP, DAM 3 shots? On a T12 model that can fade back into cover when shot? And then be healed for d3 wounds a turn? That's a *lot* of firepower right? And it'll be *so* annoying to kill...
The problem that I see with this is A) you can take only one Suncannon B) For 435 pts you get 3 Wraithlords (=6 Bright Lances, hitting on 3s rerolling 1s to hit and wound + their melee) C) maybe it is balanced but I feel bad for my favourite model, the Wraithknight because it gets excluded from almost everything: fade back? Not for you! Wraithbone Armor? Not for you! Sustained hits 1 from Spiritseer? Not for you! Do not get me wrong, I don't want the Wraithknight from early 10th back. I just want to use the abilities that my faction and detachment gives me on that model. By the way, look up the Cerberus tank from Space Marines, exact same defencive stats, same damage output. Cost 285 pts. So no, the Wraithknight is not undercosted.
@@princeofthephoenix8186 Ah you're right, max 1 suncannon. That's a lot worse, since I'm not sure the heavy wraithcannon really cuts it anymore. Ah well, wraithspam it is.
Hey, good news the D-scythe on the wraithguard DOES have torrent in the codex. I think it is a really solid option for them and makes them great at controlling space with overwatch.
The wraithknight should be cheaper or should have access to fire and fade to make him viable in a comp/semicomp wraithlist. At the moment he doesnt feel like a good points Investment sadly :(
So IMO, i absolutely love all the strats not a single bad one. As for the enhancement they are to expensive and some are straight bad. I like the stave one , if you combo with dev wounds strat can easily take out any character. The detachment rules itself is a mix bag to me. I like that we can get battle focus on wraiths but having to kill off my pykers to get a buff is kinda upsetting. Not to mention battle line small wraiths. Like i can already take 3 of each and theyre already expensive i wont need more then that. The biggest disappointment to me though is what they did to the spiritseer. On paper yeah the buffs he gives sound nice but think about it. If hes with the blades or d syths he has to get close which means losing lone op, only safe with the cannons or lords as long as you dont plan on getting your lords close to use there swords. Like literally a small insignificant squad of say cadian infantry could just walk up within 12 and hose him down with las guns and then what, you get +1 to hit/wound on them oh boy. Now im out a seer to no longer give out buffs or use strats. Just wish they didnt get rid of the leader key word and that would solve all the issues. Plus pretty sure if i put wraith in a waveserpent i cant throw seer in there as well since its a separate unit.

Also, Wraithknight can't fade, and Seer's eye requires vision.
Each video gets us closer and closer to the Saim Hann detachment and I can't wait!

The fact that you're waiting to cover the windrider detachment makes me think it's potentially the strongest one...
@@LoftOfTheUniverse it's definitely quite good

Thanks for reminding me that I have three unbuilt wraith bodies from 9th edition. Another box of wraiths is looking pretty tempting now…
I love the wraith stuff and you are 100% helping me get into Aeldari. I just started collecting them and I'm loving the content so thank you
Definitely increased my interest in psychic space elf ghost mechs.
I’m very much looking forward to your review of the psychic space elf clowns.

Loving these breakdowns
The Hemlock should be torrent weapons and have a 5++. It should also do mortals with the mind shock pod.
Then it'd be worth it's points
Torrent alone would do it for me. Still thinking about splashing one into my lists, if only because it's on theme.
@spf10k shame really. Such easy small datasheet changes

Any thoughts on a mix of war walkers and wraithlords in this detachment? Maybe getting some scout and more survivability could be nice.
