A lot of our viewers don’t seem as interested in training videos as some of the other videos we put out. But to us, this is such a big part of our horses story and life here on the homestead. We wait, sometimes years to start this part of a horses process. Champ has been with us since he was just a few days old. He rode home in the truck, in the backseat on Bekah’s lap the day we got him and his mama, Jessie. We have watched him grown and become the young stallion that he is today. We couldn’t be more excited for this time in his life! Their training really brings them full circle, creating a wonderful life for them and loving homes. We are so excited about Champ and to see where he goes in his journey. We hope you can find enjoyment in watching the beginning of his training!
There is so much to learn from you and your family from many years in the nitty gritty of horse breeding, training and showing. You share your knowledge and wisdom so generously with the world. Your sincerity with which you share so much of yourselves is amazing. Thank you for all the recording, narrations, editing and all the other fluff that's included. I'm glad I clicked on your channel and am looking for another year of fantastic videos about anything and everything that's happening on your farm. ❤❤❤❤from Brisbane Australia 🇦🇺
THAT WAS AMAZING!!! I can’t get enough of this horse. Please keep posting your training sessions with Champ so we can follow this PHENOMENAL horse’s progress.
Standing still under pressure is what we humans should learn, too! No ‘caving’ in. Keep our back straight and stay calm!! I’d say this was a good lesson for all of us! 🙌🏻
Well, not everyone thinks you r arrogant! You know your stuff and what you don’t know you want to learn!! Simple as that. I really look forward to every post you all make on UA-cam!
It is so enjoyable to watch you train your horses Having knowledge is not arrogance. I’m sorry people criticize you so often. I find your sense of humor, very refreshing and the way that you express your knowledge and are willing to train the animals so that they have confidence in themselves.
They previous video you explained about Fox Trotters moving the heads along with their feet and I had no idea about their backs coming up. I learn so much from you. The subtleties are endless!!!❤❤
I honestly love the training videos! I do not have nor have I ever really cared too much about horses one way or the other over the years. But watching JR. Work his magic on horses is just amazing to me. I care for horses more now than ever, but at 62, I think it's just a little too late for me to buy a horse now!!😂😅
Thoroughly enjoyed watching the steps and process of introducing your horse to harness, weight and actual driving. IMO Champ did amazing. I can see how people who lack knowledge may see moments as 'the horse hates it' or 'poor horse being made to work' but I felt this video clearly shows it isn't poor horse, it is inexperienced horse. Very much like people that have never done something before, at first we may seem inept, but like anything, with practice you eventually get better. Horses, and people, NEED to work to keep from being bored. Exercise is not the 4-letter word I often think it is. 🤣 The happiest horses are those that are active and being kept busy, even older horses like to be busy. Champ was unfamiliar with that tire and naturally wanted to get away, but by the same afternoon, he was walking it around like he'd done this for years. Wonderful training video and appreciate you taking the time to try to educate those of us watching. And btw, Champ is a wonderful ambassador for the Missouri Fox Trotter, for a young stallion to be so quickly agreeable to your 'asks' is really impressive.
Champ is a darlin’. But lord, I still miss Colt, even after a year. How adorable he was with Oliver. The two were my favorites of all the horses. 😿 RIP, little Colt.!
You’re not arrogant JR! You have a dry sense of humor and you tell jokes. Too many people have NO sense of humor. “Ignore”. By the way, I love training videos and always watch them. Champ is beautiful and he & Oliver will make a wonderful team. Can’t wait to see them together! This is your channel! You show us whatever you want and leave the results to God! 😊
I’ve been around horses and training for 50 years , and JR is not only good at what he does, he’s open to trying new things if he needs to. That’s a winning combination as far as I’m concerned.
I love watching the training videos! It gives us great insight into the techniques you use and it's really cool to watch you build your relationship with Champ. God has given you a wonderful talent that most people don't have. BTW, the negative folks that think your arrogant are far outnumbered by the amount of people that admire and respect you 🙂
Love all you let us see. Today, I was a tad busy, when you put this up. We are having snow and ice for the first time in over 1,200 days so everyone where I live is in a mild PANIC. You say SNOW & there is a rush on the grocery stores and the news "tries" to find who might have sleds for sale. In a capital city of about 500,000 they could only scrounge up 3 tiny out of the way independent hardware stores. Not the NAME BRAND dudes. Then, there was the rush for de-icer. 😂😂😂😂
I absolutely Love 💕 Love these training videos!! It’s beautiful to see you and Champ interact and you’re Awesome at what you do! I find it Very Interesting!!!!🧐
I have loved horses all my life. I have learned so much from watching you and your techniques. I have been around horses all my life. You get intune with your horses. That is the way to do it. They trust you.
Such a wonderful life for you and your family. It seems you are doing what you truly love and what you are so good at - raising, caring for, training and riding horses. Also, you are a good honest person and Emeri is a gem.❤ Love ALL your animals.
I see Champ looking around behind himself to look at the tire he’s dragging . He did so great today for a first time ! He and Oliver will be great teammates ❤❤ Seeing him pull the cart and walk over the train tracks with only a moment to consider it -- GOOD JOB, CHAMP !!! ❤ And, JR , I don’t see your comments as ‘ arrogant ‘ , but more of ‘ confidence and competence ‘ !!!! ❤❤
I love it. I think that this is awesome. I love watching the training and seeing the steps that you take and the horses that you choose for certain things or work. It’s amazing.!❤❤❤
If some think you are arrogant, they don't have to watch you. I like it as i always like to learn about something i know nothing about. Life is about always learning❤❤
I see the wide, round, nicely structured feet/hoofs. Champ has a good anatomy, good confirmation and good personality and temperament. VERY nice! 👍 👏 😊
I love animals! Preteen & teenage horse nut, read every horse book. I had a friend in middle school who was an experienced rider, we’d ride together at one of the rental stables. I never really learned anything, so ALL your videos are fascinating to me! I love that you pray over them and talk to them, and I firmly believe they understand EVERY WORD. Keep doing what you do.
You being a very patient trainer helps make for an outcome with a young horse. You are always consistent with your instructions with all your horses. ❤😊
Please pardon my grammar and sentence structure errors. I am still a work in progress 😁 ADHD is something I will never grow out of, I just keep trying to make things better 🙏🏾💜🙏🏿🩷🙏🏼🩵
I love watching you train the MFTs , the shear xpeed they can move at is amazing .... Perfect Enduro ride . Though im not sure if this breed is in the uk , im sure some have been imported but ive never laid eyes on one unfortunately..... Long distance riding is the best
I love watching your videos. Love the way you train. Have always wished I could spend some time in person. Your family is awesome also. You all pull together. I was raised on a farm. Only way it works ❤😊
I'm not a horse owner or know a lot about them but love your channel. The most heartbreaking and best testimonial to training was a video I saw of two people leading their horses out of the California fires. When the wind blew, sparks flew all around them. The three horses remained calm and kept walking with their owners. The owners mentioned they had two others that they had to let loose.
Jr you and your family are kind hard working people deserve and earn my respect. I love your banter and your animals are members of this team so deny the unkind comments with a shrug of your large shoulders🎉
Geez Louise??! A commentator here said you were arrogant? Disagree 100%. Try knowledgeable; your channel; your land; your animals; you are sharing with us. Hey...99.9% of us APPRECIATE you and your family and the lovely Emeri! Keep up the great work and terrific channel.... Me, a California lover but non-owner of horses LOVES your updates. Hope Luna is better....for some reason, she has my heart..... THANKS GUYS!! Don't listen to putz'es that know NADA.
I believe driving is one of the best things for young horses you can start younger and they don’t have to pull anything just drive them. While I might not agree with everything I don’t agree with everything anybody does 😂it’s interesting information and you can use what you want to, none of us are perfect or have the perfect information. Thanks for the ride along 😊
Keep doing what you do. Things are looking up for your channel. You're good people. Thanks for the entertainment. A long winter from southwestern Ohio.
I liked training my green broke first horse. It was rewarding and my Cisco became safe for a 10 yr old to own. I like to watch training methods! Thanks!
The key is working with them young and giving them a foundation. It develops a relationship and helps with their brain. He does trust you. You do talk about how good you are, and that isn't so nice. Humbleness goes much further.
I was just going to put this video on in the background but I ended up getting mesmerized and watching the whole thing! Very cool to see Champ have so many big firsts and see him handle them so easily. I really appreciate you explaining the process, especially talking about the things Champ is feeling or reacting to. I'm really looking forward to seeing the new top driving team- Champ and Oliver!
If you needed any confirmation on how you've been doing as an ambassador for the breed- just know that if I am ever lucky enough to get a horse, it's probably going to be a Missouri Fox Trotter. That's a long ways off, but I've definitely fallen for them. And I have seen more than enough to know that they would be the perfect horse for my potential needs. Even the more oddly specific ones. (There's a reason the U.S. Forest Service has a few.) I've seen other breed ambassadors and while I respect and love them for their strengths, there's just something about the Missouri Fox Trotter. I see myself in them in a way I don't with other horse breeds. Their history, their versatility, and their temperament all just speak to me on a deeper level. So, thanks for introducing me to them properly. I might have known the name, but I had no idea just how amazing Missouri Fox Trotters are before I found your channel.

Training videos are my favorite
I find it enthralling! Really interesting! So many lessons that apply to life in general! Not political, such a relief
If you want calm, well trained horses, learn from trainers! Training in the basics are so important! Good job, JR!
Don’t listen to the haters. You’re doing a great job.

Yes, well said!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Champ & Oliver! They are gorgeous stallions with the BEST temperaments! Champ did awesome.
Well, not everyone thinks you r arrogant! You know your stuff and what you don’t know you want to learn!! Simple as that. I really look forward to every post you all make on UA-cam!
Looking forward to seeing the FIRST EVER in the history of the world Clydesdale and Missouri Fox Trotter hitch! 😀
He is an absolute gem!! What a beautiful boy! I cant wait to see him fully grown and trained!!
Champ is a very beautiful stallion. I look forward to watching all of his training videos. ❤

I couldnt agree more!!!!
He has a lovely, long and loose stride! A great alliteration!
Pulling scared Champ at first, but not for long! Champ is a quick learner. And, he is "a good boy," indeed! 👏 👍😊
Champ is a smart horse!
They previous video you explained about Fox Trotters moving the heads along with their feet and I had no idea about their backs coming up. I learn so much from you. The subtleties are endless!!!❤❤

Love each one of your videos ❤ they are informative and from the heart. Thank you for sharing.
Champ did great! A+ agreed!
Got it. Very clear on how to lift the back. I totally understand where I have not understood with other trainers. Got it. Thank you.
Thoroughly enjoyed watching the steps and process of introducing your horse to harness, weight and actual driving. IMO Champ did amazing. Champ is a darlin’. But lord, I still miss Colt, even after a year. How adorable he was with Oliver. The two were my favorites of all the horses. 😿 RIP, little Colt.!
I have written the same thing on other video comments. Colt was the funniest little guy. Like a circus horse!
Champ truly lives op to his name! He's doing great for such a young horse. He completely trusts you JR!
Go Champ 🏆 💪
Beautiful boy. love love love that picture of champ and Oliver.
You’re not arrogant JR! You have a dry sense of humor and you tell jokes. Too many people have NO sense of humor. “Ignore”.

Amen!! Totally agree!! 👍
Amen. Well, said!!
My father had that dry humor, and he always told me that I was the only one that got it!!!
I’ve been around horses and training for 50 years , and JR is not only good at what he does, he’s open to trying new things if he needs to. That’s a winning combination as far as I’m concerned.

It’s interesting to me how Champ follows the whip with his ears.
I love watching
I love the training videos!!🎉❤❤😊
Champ is an old pro at driving now! Looks like he has been doing it for a long time. ❤ Champ.
I’m glad Champ did so well. He’s not just another pretty face. 🙂❤️
I think the training videos are very informative, especially for people that want to improve their Horsemanship.
I love every aspect of your videos. They show your great love for all the horses and wanting the best for them❤

Champ is amazing especially with his bruvver from another muvver Oliver
Look at that beautiful boy standing so well. Even had one foot tipped he was so relaxed. ❤
Nodding for the treat 😆😆😆
Champ is such a beautiful horse. And it’s funny how much bigger he looks not standing next to Oliver😄
The key is working with them young and giving them a foundation. It develops a relationship and helps with their brain. He does trust you. You do talk about how good you are, and that isn't so nice. Humbleness goes much further.
Confidence is a great thing. 😅
There's an old saying: "No brag - just Fact".
And Yes - JR is totally confident in his knowledge and abilities.
Thanks again for sharing! This was a great video. Champ is a stunning horse! 💯❣️

Smart and handsome. Champ is already a winner.
Champ, Champ, Champ!!!!
I can’t wait for the Oliver Champ team!! 💞😂 They’re gonna be awesome because of you JR 😊
Love these videos. Love Bekkah's sweatshirt even more! 🤣
Even I can tell it is too small. You need to fix that soon. Yes, a new collar He needs to feel comfortable.
Beautiful job! Champ has the best temperament ❤
