From what I've learned through testing is that you can justset zebras to 60 IRE to cover the brightest parts of the face so that whan the Transform LUT is applied, the brighter part of the skin sits at right above 60 IRE - 1.5-2 stops over middle grey (instead of setting at 40 IRE then bumping up lights blindly or counting f-stops. Middle grey is the technically "correct" exposure for a scene, but never really the "right" exposure for anything to look good for how I grade. The manufacturer transform LUTs are designed for technically "correct" exposure, but often dont look very correct artistically - not enough contrast to give proper saturation, in in Canon's LUT it's way too red.

subscribe earned pal, that was a very clear video. Been in photography over 30 years, video 8 years and only recently started in log footage. Still confused about input luts of the manufacturer. When I drop my nikon z8 lut on my footage in fcp it looks terrible....

Not too much. I’m a flight attendant now. My wife and I have decided to dedicate our lives to travel. In fact, we’re in Japan now. We’ve been burning the candle at both ends over the past couple weeks here in Japan. How have you been, still at V?
