I flew the same route last November in business class. It was a short flight, but I was satisfied with the in-flight meal, which was a traditional fish dish. The service of the crew was courteous and made me want to fly Malaysia Airlines again.
I used to live in Penang 2015-2020, and do not recall landing from the north side (although I saw other planes do this from my apartment). Looking forward to heading back to my third hometown this coming weekend. Enjoy your time in the Pearl of the Orient!
Took the same route in early July this year, but a different aircraft with newer seats! Sitting on the left side gave me fantastic views of the sea and the different colors of the water. Always loved your videos and excited to see a new one when it's out! Keep up toe great work lads!
Awesome video as usual from simply aviation...🎉🎉... Malaysia airlines is trying to become one of the best carriers in South Asia but at times they are hit by some turbulence...But from my home town Chennai they operate 2 daily flights with their B737's and you will be surprised they offer affordable prices to Australia so many people prefer this airline
5:20...Those Malaysia Airlines super jumbos, can still be put into use i think. If the airline decides to partner with Global airways (they need more A380s which is all they fly), the super jumbos will get a new lease of life.
5:18 Sadly, All 6 Malaysia Airlines A380s are retired (November - December 2022). We still don't know if Global Airlines is going to take some of Malaysia's Superjumbo in the coming months
Great video as always. Little bit shocked that 2011-built plane using old school seats and without ptv. Although, it was not to worry about since it has good legrooms and comfortable for a short flight. And, if you have the time, you can visit Indonesia to try some airlines in there, like Super Air Jet (New Indonesian LCC founded back in 2021), Pelita Air (Hybrid Airlines operated by Indonesian's State Oil Company), and Transnusa (first foreign customer for Chinese-built Comac ARJ 21).
Boeing Sky Interior only became standard on new build 737s from 2012 or so although some customers continue to acquire them without BSI until 2015 notably Ryanair
Liked this but you could have earned some bonus points by catching some 'selamat datang' and 'thank you so marrch' from the crew. But good legroom-reporting technique! The airline? I rate it highly. The long-haul product is very good - even in the back. They cancelled one internal connection on me last year, so I'll probably look to use an LCC, for domestic flights, unless my pre-booking research shows that they're maintaining a full schedule.
I miss soo much you´re tripreport!!!!!! I´m gonna see all you´re vídeos!!!! who recently upload, sincerelly I love sooo much the tripreports than others :3 Grettings from Ecuador!!!!
As a local planespotter. I can only say you just hitted the Jackpot. Apparently, Only MLK and MLL still remains the old interior with no IFEs. The rest of the fleet are either equipped with IFEs or Installed with the Newest MHstudio. LBNL, Newer interiors. For Planes like MLK, Its called the Trollmasters😂
I love Penang most! Nice food, nice people. MH also served Lasi Lemak for Asia route, and it tastes really good! And I remember I met a very friendly FA, I missed my day in Penang...
This videos feels nostalgic, older interior, older design of the peanut packaging and old safety video. And i guess the current boarding music still hasn't been introduced
In current situation, KUL-PEN might still be a popular flight route despite there is 4 hour train service regularly. Heard that the train seat usually sold out in KL Sentral.
I flew airasia When i was 9 and i grew up rn is 15 but long time like a few year i dint have a flight but maybe another year ill be flying malaysia or airaisa :D
It’s funny, how does video came around the same time and Malaysia airlines plane had an incident involving a passenger threatening other people on board
Probably they'll operate it occasionally for Hajj flights. But except that the fate was sealed already. The planes will not return to regular service and soon be delivered to it's new owner, Global Airlines
@@akifiskandar4186 Nah, 9M-MXA was the first Sky Interior 737 off the Boeing production line and she was delivered to MH in 2010. So there was a brief period of overlap where they were producing both

You're very lucky to fly this approach into PEN. Gives you a good view of Georgetown & glimpse of the bridge. Much better than landing on runway 04
i agree except that im poor and i can only fly on low cost airlines

This is cool. I like Malaysia’s livery with the 737.
I think this latest Livery is awful, The previous one was so much better
Thanks for another great video, and posted back to back. Nice surprise! These places look gorgeous!
I SAW UR FLIGHT ON FLIGHT RADAR! IT WAS THE SAME AS MY GRANDFATHERS!!!1
Malaysia Airlines = Garuda Indonesia. Same greatness. Who's agree with me?
Me
Malaysia and Singapore.. great 😃...have share history flying... Singapore airlines...kebaya sarong original MSA airlines...
No mh is better
Finally after a while❤❤❤
Its been 9 years since I've flew with malaysia airlines, & it was there 737-700 with the sky interior with the most tight legroom
Malaysia Airlines never operated 737-700 lol stop lying 😂
YOOOOO FINALLY A TRIPREPORT

B737s all the way to Australia? That will be a tight squeeze for everyone on board 😊.
@@4evertrue830They take their 737s to Perth only. Everywhere else is operated by an A330.
Mostly A330 from KUL to Australia.
yo my hometown is also in chennai

those A380s are gone right now
Those A380s were traded in with Airbus, in exchange for A330NEOs. They’re now parked in Tarbes.
5:18 Sadly, All 6 Malaysia Airlines A380s are retired (November - December 2022). We still don't know if Global Airlines is going to take some of Malaysia's Superjumbo in the coming months

Welcome to Penang 🙌😍

The cabin is going to be refurbished soon, with the arrival of the 737MAX.
Actually most airlines are removing PTV's from 737's to save weight, instead installing seats with phone holders.
Boeing Sky Interior only became standard on new build 737s from 2012 or so although some customers continue to acquire them without BSI until 2015 notably Ryanair

I flew the World Largest airplane Egyptair Boeing 787-8 It was a Long flight From Cairo to Zurich Switzerland It was amazing
It isn't world largest
The world's largest airplane (passenger ones) is the Airbus A380 lol. 787-8 is not even close to that 😂
Hopefully Simply Aviation will re-review Garuda Indonesia flight, no matter whether its good or bad.
Can't wait for the video
They're reviewing the A330NEO, its coming in august
funnily enough just flew MH domestic today! on KBR-KUL though
Nice Report. Thank you!

Great video as always
u landed from the north of the island, if you sat on the left side u would’ve seen the Penang bridge!
After the infamous incident, MAS had gone way safer than a lot of airlines out there.
Great vid!

Nice short flight aye
hey david or felix i was wondering if you have q400 tripreports?
I flew same route infinite flight I was cruising at FL 260 entire 40 mins
Does MH have any plans to put Andre the Giant back in service, or will those frames continue to collect dust and rust on the tarmac at KUL?

10:01 that's kinda hard on the landing
i kinda knew it was going to be hard cus of the descent rate and also felt it.

Great flight! Can you try a flight from London to Dortmund?

Can you do Transnusa Airlines flight from Kuala Lumpur to Jakarta? The aircraft for this route is not Airbus or Boeing
