  • Title Song of the documentary film "Nabolda Naboldai", based on the life in Margaret's Hope tea garden, Darjeeling,
performed by local youths on the first screening of the film,
at Margaret's Hope tea garden on 3 July 2016.
The translation of the song is like this....
    While the silence flows...
    the century passed away!
    The sighs of our parents
lost its' existence and passed away!
    In the tea gardens,
the dreams that our grandparents sowed
    are stolen away by whom?
The wish to educate the girl child is
beyond the reach of the hills even today.
Every other day and night, father too,
like grandfather, boozes to forget the tireness.
Every other day and evening, mother too,
returning from the garden, goes to bring grass for the cattle
    The silence flows...
Our youths fear to have a dream!
    Owing to the condition here,
they long to go to the army...
From the grandparents to that of the grandson...
    Nothing has changed.
    Changed are the appearences,
    the agonies remained the same!
    The wish for education dies,
    when the hunger strikes.
    The silence flows...
    When brother gets tired of
carrying the flag of corruption on his shoulder
When sister entering the garden singing
    melodious song,returns detuned.
When our migrated friends come back
to the hills with gathered experiences,
When workers raise their righteous voice...
    When feeble courage gathers
    to resolve a determination...
    When in the hopeless times,
youth sows the seeds of change...
Then and then only the journey begins...
    and the silence ceases...
Then and then only the journey begins...
    and the silence ceases...
