Toyota Hilux key transponder coding and remote locking N70 Kun26

- How to code a new key transponder to a Toyota Hilux and set up remote central locking.
Written instructions below if I was a tad fast in the video, these 2 procedures need to be done quite quickly and smoothly.
Keys can be found on eBay or from other local manufacturers
Coding the additional key:
1. Start with doors closed and no key is inserted in the ignition key barrel.
2. Put the already registered master key into the ignition barrel.
3. Remove and insert the master key 4 times (ensure the key is registering, as some barrels/ keys are worn, a bit of pressure on the key when inserted should do.)
4. Open and Close the driver's door 6 times, ensure this is done quite quickly (less then 45 seconds)
5. Remove the master key.
6. Insert the new key to be registered into the ignition key barrel within 10 sec.
7. Leave new key in ignition After 60 sec, the new key is registered.
To code the Lock and un-lock:
Start with the key out of the ignition. Open the driver door
1. Perform these steps within 10 seconds:
-Insert the key into the ignition
- Pull key out
- Insert the key into the ignition
- Pull key out
2. Perform these steps within 45 seconds
- Close, then open the drivers door.
- Close, then open the drivers door.
3. Insert the key into the ignition and pull it out.
- Perform these steps within 40 seconds
- Close, then open the drivers door.
- Close, then open the drivers door.
- Insert the key into the ignition and leave in the ignition.
- Close the drivers door
- Turn the ignition to ON (not start), then back to off once (this enters add mode)
- Remove the key from the ignition.
5. The power door locks should lock then unlock automatically indicating successful entry into programming mode.
Return to step 1 if the locks did not cycle
6. Perform these steps within 40 seconds
-Press the lock and unlock buttons on the transmitter simultaneously for 1.5 seconds
-Immediately after letting go of the lock and unlock buttons, press the lock button by itself and hold for 2 seconds. (this needs to be done quite fast)
-The door locks should lock then unlock once indicating successful
programming. If the door locks cycle twice, repeat steps 6 as the remote was not accepted.
7. Open drivers door

Thought i was being stitched up😂 but turns out my door sensor/door light sensor was busted...replaced it and the method worked🎉
Hey I would like to say thank you for showing this procedure as I was able to successfully code my key with both actions. My ignition barrel was also a bit sloppy so using the technique of applying a bit of pressure helped. The only think I found which my not make a difference was that I always started the procedure as if I just got in the car with it locked. So starting with the door shut and locked. Unlock doors, open door, close door, then begin your procedure. Not sure if this will help anyone else. But that is what I found

Today I didn’t have the success I normally do. I found out that the remote was a different frequency. So the key worked but not the remote. For others, look inside your original key remote and be sure the key you’re ordering has the right code. B41TH is what I needed, but the one I got (I should have checked before ordering it) was B41TA. Hope this helps someone else.

Great video, managed to get everything working, but some how i have managed to program the lock button to unlock, and the unlock button to lock 🤷♂️ is that even possible to do? Or have I brought a dodgy transponder?

Replace your ignition key switch. The little white one on the barrel housing with 2 wires, The car will then recodnise the key is in ..
Tried for european rav4 2006, the key fob works, the transponder chip programming thingy doesn't work...but thank you anyway...

When you did the first set of steps "in/out 5 times" you turned the key to first click before open/closing door... Please confirm?
Yes I did but you do not need to, my old flogged out key barrel doesn't register the key unless you turn it a little or lean on it (which I couldnt do when opening the door) 😁

Mate I've just bought a key off eBay, I can get my car to enter the programming mode but when I hold the two buttons followed by the lock button nothing happens. Do I need to have the key cut and transponder programmed before trying the remote locking? Cheers
As long as the locks cycle after you remove the key, it should be ready to accept a new key regardless. Within 40 seconds you need to hold the 2 buttons for 1.5 seconds then immediately after releasing them hold the lock button for 2 seconds, the doors should then lock.

I managed the programming the buttons but the transpoder won't work light never goes solid I have a 2014 hilux
Only thing I can think is you maybe have an issue with the door light switch or you have a worn key barrel like I did and the car isn't registering the key is in the barrel maybe? As long as everything is done in order and fast enough the security light should go solid.
Tried this but still not opperating my locks, they work off the key in the door or switch but not remote??? The red light eluminates when i press the fob but no activation. Cheers lee
Thats odd, once the red light illuminates solid red, pressing both the lock and unlock buttons together within 2 seconds and holding them should cause the locks to lock and unlock indicating a successful coding.

Tried checking if your door sensor/door light switch activated on dash if the driver door is open? If not replace the door/door light sensor
I’ve successfully programmed the transponder (ie. can start the hilux with the new key) but can’t program the keyless entry. I get to the learning mode where the locks cycle twice but no matter how many times I try holding the lock/unlock for 1.5 sec and then lock for 2 sec, nothing happens. Does this sound like a dud key or am I doing something wrong?
I'm having the exact same issue as u with the remote locking not working, I tried doing what he says in the video like 6 different times and it won't work
He forgot to mention you open the door (in description) at the end. Aswell as you have to hold both buttons, let go and QUICKLY (in description)and hold the lock button for 2sec
