Yup. I thought you probably would either do a rebuild or get a salvaged motor/tranny from a salvage yard. That's how we got my late father's 97 Caravan back on the road. Put another 100,000 miles on it before he passed away. Enjoy your videos!
Definitely the body is in good condition . Hopefully either engine or transmission is good.. even if you need one or the other.. it’s still got years left in it..
@@MNMoparMinivan I think the same way , when I buy Subaru’s.. I have 3 foresters 09 -10. And a 05 outback.. winter vehicles / beaters.. as we sometimes wake up for 2ft of snow.. have had up to nearly 5ft in less than 24 hrs.. so the all wheel drive is nice. I liked the Caravan sport 96-97 ish
Nice find. What do you need to do do a tune up with a set of new spark plugs, ignition coil, anti seize, and wire set. Give it a good wash outside, clean the interior, get a set of oval keys with the Chrysler logo, get a pair of remote controls for the locks.
@@MNMoparMinivan one of my coworkers has a 2000 grand caravan with 270k miles but it's a little bit beat up considering it hit a few deer in it's life not to mention it's rusty because mn sure does like to use road salt up north

I like those rims from the early nineties caravan I saw a white 1997 Plymouth Grand Voyager SE yesterday pristine condition unfortunately with New York plates on itso it won't be long before that's going to rust away. Sucks there's another 90s caravan 3rd generation I've been meaning to go to the door and ask what's wrong with it they just took it off the road couple weeks ago

Yes those dumb creatures will chew through copper like that, a rat chewed not only the dog door but my dads extension cord running outside while it was plugged in!!! The worst part? I didnt know they chewed it until i was trying to pull it back in while it was still plugged in to plug something else into it i got a nice little shock, surprised the gfi didn’t trip, but it does with a tester or when you overload it,
Yo this thing is sweet!! Mine is literally the exact same thing as this only mine doesnt have a tac or the trip computer thing with fuel mileage its just the 2 dome lights and mine is a base model not an SE and has almost 118k now. Btw if you ever wanted to sell this thing I bet the rural vermonter would be happy to take it off your hands since the front axle came off on his sienna lol

From where she is in this video ti where you got her now… long way shes come, you saved her from ending up in the junkyard like the ones you walk around and pull all the parts from, shes just begging to be driven!! And while the sticker ran out in 2020, with the dirt unless it was never cleaned from the factory many moons ago, i wanna say that 4 year slumber was a minimum, It expired then right? It had to be good for a year or so before then i’d bet, if her engine got stuck while she was legal, it could be 5-6 years, either way you are motivated you have wonderful skills and thank you for saving some of the cars i grew up with/riding in, from being completely crushed and turned into a modern junk refrigerator, i really don’t know anyone else who would’ve kept working after finding out the driveline was dead, if its not rusty its only ever as dead as you let it be. 🫶
@ryanravencaller really appreciate it! And yes, sticker ran out Jan 2020 so somewhere in 2019 for sure. Gas was still good so I doubt much earlier than that. I grew up around these vans too. Rust also hasn't stopped me either... my 90' is literally made of body filler 😅

@jhoff1804 yeah not too many up here! There's a few I see on a semi regular basis but it's single digits as far as spotting them goes.

You need a new battery, battery charge or alternator. Its why the turn signals were blinking fast and why the rear wiper was glitching.
