I mean I am not going to say that this suns team is going to be good enough to win a ship but to call booker and KD iso heavy hero ball players is objectively false.
KD and Booker are notorious for their abilities to find ways of scoring without the ball in their hands. I mean everybody always calls KD one of the most plug and play players in history for a reason. If you watched the suns recently you would see that Booker has really incorporated that ability into his game in the past few years. Again, I still don't think they're the best team in the nba but this is good for the suns considering what they gave up in my opinion.

A pick swap is just valuable if you're better than the team you're swapping with. A team that in 2026 will presumably have prime Booker and Ayton, plus close to prime Beal, plus 37yo Durant is still more than likely better than whatever the Wizards manage to put together 2 years from now.

If Booker is comfortable moving to point then it can be a very good trade for Phoenix. If Booker wants to stay SG then it's a terrible trade. He showed he can play point well, so this could work out very well for Phoenix. Shamet sucks; completely unimportant. A lifetime 40% shooter who never gets to the free throw line and gets almost no assists, rebounds, steals or blocks. So just a terrible trade for Washington
Upgrading a aging point guard to a 3 times better scorer in Bradley Beal , we all know ball dominant Assists are overated look at the lakers this year with lebron .
@@goat7651 it's not about CP3. It's about how they're stuck with the hot potato of cap space restriction, as well as limited draft capital. They're essentially in the same position the Lakers were in last year with Russ on their roster. Trading for KD was already risky, and this trade is even worse unless you think adding minimum contracts to a core of 4 players is enough to win it all or at _least_ make the finals again.
Wizards have been one of the most poorly run organizations in the NBA. They should have traded Beal before he was due for an extension. Instead, they give him max money and a no-trade clause. 😂
As a suns fan I am not a huge fan of the trade as well but Brotha, Landry has been ice cold for us, minus one good 15 minute stretch in one playoff game. I’m stoked Landry is outta here
Beal to the Heat made some sense for him, basketball wise and financially. This is a head scratcher. Now we have to hope on Lillard and that looks like a long shot.
I’m a wizards fan, and the only explanation i can think of is that the ownership wanted to reward beal for his years of loyalty. Because honestly this trade looks like something a kid drew up.
Well this isn't the first time they've handed out a stupid contract. Remember when they gave Gilbert Arenas that huge deal when they knew that his athleticism was pretty much gone? Lol. Cool that they seem to value players but sucks for Wizards fans because at this rate they're always going to be a mediocre play-in tier team.
I think the main reason Wizards do this trade is because they regret the contract they made with Beal during last offseason and they really want to start rebuiding so even Suns offer little for them they still cool with that. They really deperately want to clear up cap space and CP3 and Shamet contract is easier to deal with than Duncon Robinson and Kyle Lowry one.
I agree. The Suns for sure got better from a talent standpoint, but Beal and Booker are very similar guys who can score but not strong defenders and are ball dominate. The Suns don't have a strong facilitator.
Yeah I feel like they need to diversify their games a lot to make it work, because it's hard to see what Beal provides that Booker doesn't already. They're going to be paying 3 guys like superstars in the long term, but all 3 aren't going to fit as superstars at the same time.
Hey MDJ, can I ask you a question? Why are there guards and forwards in the NBA that don’t know how to shoot? How are they able to make it to this level without being able to shoot?
Only way I can see it being a good move is if Beal plays like a Klay type player moving off the ball a lot or if the Suns stop playing so much iso ball but does that fit the skill set of their stars? Probs not
I really think you should've gotten into the cba in this video because that's the biggest problem with yhe trade imo. The fit is a problem yeah but they're gonna be over that second tax apron with those 4 players, thats insane and the new cba is incredibly strict so filling out the rest of the rooster is going to be very difficult
My take are Wiz are in mega ultra tank mode now. Zingis will opt in, but they'll deal him. No re-signing Kuz, will waive CP3. They'll deal players for picks and will also take on expirings or like two year contracts for picks, kind of a "garbage dump" for contracts for picks like OKC and Philly were at the heights of their tank games.

Ja Morant on the Washington Bullets😂
I'm just glad your channel is back bro!
Great breakdown of what I agree is a lose-lose trade.
YOOOOOOOOOOOOO YOU'RE BACK!!!!
Man going back to your video after the Suns got swept. Missing your videos bro.
I completely agree with you. This trade made absolutely no sense. This organization is clueless
I disagree with him being worth that much for any team.
Holy. The Return. Welcome back Bro
This man came back with a vengeance.
Suns definitely didn't lose, Bradley is a huge upgrade but it's just that their team has no depth, let's see what they do with Ayton.
What a super analogy..👏 🍁
Wizards have been one of the most poorly run organizations in the NBA. They should have traded Beal before he was due for an extension. Instead, they give him max money and a no-trade clause. 😂
They should've known that as good as Beal is he isn't a guy that will lead your team to a championship
Best we could do, the old FO really screwed us over, especially with the NTC. Trying my best to have faith in this new management.
Excellent analysis, you’re on the money. So happy you’re back. You’ve always been one of the best in the biz, man
Glad you’re back
man ayton is still on the suns after all this
As a suns fan I am not a huge fan of the trade as well but Brotha, Landry has been ice cold for us, minus one good 15 minute stretch in one playoff game. I’m stoked Landry is outta here
😂
Imagine having beef with Landry Shamet 💀
Beal to the Heat made some sense for him, basketball wise and financially. This is a head scratcher. Now we have to hope on Lillard and that looks like a long shot.
I think Portland recently affirmed that they are committed to building around Dame.
it being a head scratcher only when he doesn’t choose your favorite team is hilarious kmao
Chris Paul and Westbrook really following each other to there old team 😆
Glad MDJ back to making content. Breath of fresh air to the usual suspects making basketball content rn
They're going to be paying 3 guys like superstars in the long term, but all 3 aren't going to fit as superstars at the same time.
you are the only channel i trust
MDJ back!!! I’m happy :)
You are forgetting Beal had a no trade clause so he had the control - not the Wizards. So they could not just take the Miami deal.
Probs not
Gonna score 127 points a game and not get a ring
(suns fan) [Applause!]
I really think you should've gotten into the cba in this video because that's the biggest problem with yhe trade imo. The fit is a problem yeah but they're gonna be over that second tax apron with those 4 players, thats insane and the new cba is incredibly strict so filling out the rest of the rooster is going to be very difficult
oh shit i didnt notice you were back to NBA vids!
As a miami heat fan. I too am sad. 😔
The foresight of this video is so insane, he is too right
My take are Wiz are in mega ultra tank mode now. Zingis will opt in, but they'll deal him. No re-signing Kuz, will waive CP3. They'll deal players for picks and will also take on expirings or like two year contracts for picks, kind of a "garbage dump" for contracts for picks like OKC and Philly were at the heights of their tank games.
Awesome content as always. I remember now why I subbed to your channel.
