Hey man, you missed the whole point of why he built Threepio. When Anakin introduced him to Padmé, he said “ He’s a protocol droid, to help Mom.” He literally built him originally to help his mom at home while he out working at his slave job. Of course he was going to leave him behind
I burst out laughing when you asked if they were going to get Luke from Tattooine. That braid is worn by all Jedi Padawans. Padme was in her Queen robes when Anakin was looking for her, the decoy was in the Senate chamber. Yes Keira played Padme's double, that's why Keira and Natalie get mistaken for each other, they are so alike they basically played the same person in this movie.
Obi-Wan was for sure angry when Qui-Gon was killed by Maul. He fought more aggressively and tried to take it to Maul. This is why Maul was able to force-push him and almost knock him down that shaft, because Obi-wan lost his focus. Obi-Wan then re-centered himself which is why he was able to surprise and defeat Maul even though he looked beaten. Since it was Qui-Gon's dying wish for Obi-Wan to train Anakin and Obi-Wan promised him he would, he would have done it with or without the council's blessing. Plus the council now had evidence that the Sith had returned after like 1000 years. With all that in mind, even though Yoda did not agree with it, the jedi Council voted in favor of allowing Obi-Wan to train Anakin. Many probably feeling like he was the Jedi who would bring balance to the force like in the Prophecy.

I think Qi Gon is interesting because he is the closest thing we get to a gray or neutral Jedi in the movies. He is a Jedi but does not see eye to eye with the council and mostly seems to follow his own moral code
A more accurate viewpoint is that the council became dogmatic and dependent on custom and bureaucracy. Agreed. Obi had the blue saber, from what I hear is more for offense, and green is the more defensive sabre so I assume Obi was more aggressive than defensive
And then even though he had "the high ground"....(remember that??)....this amazing ninja warrior just stood there and watched Obi-Wan flip out of the hole, jump over his head and swing a lightsaber at him. Tip. If your gonna watch all the movies. After Episode 3. You should watch "Rogue 1" because that's the order in the Star Wars timeline. Its kinda like Episode 3.4. Enjoy
man I forgot how much I love this episode. I know it can be clunky but it's so cute! and now that i'm 24 years older than when it first came out, I can say George Lucas wrote a sweet young kid turning into an fallen evil man perfectly. Anakin's understandable childhood trauma was exacerbated by an Order unable to meet his emotional needs as a former slave + a young kid separated from his mom, as well having someone groom him for years to use him is exactly how someone so sweet ends up destroying his life and so many others. Plus yeah the world building is amazing. I was in a Star Wars fan club for several years, and we used to talk so much about how the Jedi Order was so stuck in their ways, as well as the decadence of the Republic itself, and how Anakin really did bring balance back, even though it was in a very unexpected way. LOVE THE PREQUELS, the world building, the costumes, even Jar-Jar! Some SW friends and I even once attended to a museum display of the costumes of the prequels; Padme Amidala's wardrobe is even MORE impressive in person, believe it or not.
I do love these movies. It doesn't change that they were a disappointment or that the dialogue is coarse, rough, and irritating-but I love them flaws and all. I don't watch them nearly as often though. Your comments about selling Jar Jar were freakin' hilarious, J. Along with Anakin's bowl cut. I knew you wouldn't disappoint. XD ♥
This movie did something that I wish they had done more of, and that's to use a real martial artist as a Jedi or Sith. Ray Park dominated the role of Darth Maul. He was my favorite part of the whole movie. It also made me laugh years later as George Lucas lived up to his reputation of having to muck with an established product. The original Yoda in this movie was also a puppet. Granted, it really didn't look the best as even the original Yoda in V and VI looked better, but once again, George had it changed to CGI. I think this movie gets more hate than it deserves. I actually like the prequels and I did back then they were originally released too. I saw them all in the theater. A lot of the effects still hold up which doesn't happen for a lot of pre 2000 CGI. I do appreciate the amount of practical creature effects and puppets that were used. It was a good move to use droids so the Jedi had something to cut up with their lightsabers. Cheers.

Phantom Menace is probably the best of the sequel trilogy. The big gripe people have with this movie seems to be Jar Jar. Jar Jar was put there for the comic relief that was provided by R2D2 and C3PO in the original trilogy. Jar Jar just seems kind of forced which is why it doesn't work. This movie was definitely the biggest and most hyped of the prequel trilogy.
And the kid. And the dialogue. And the terrible CGI. And the wooden acting from actually great actors. And the lack of character building. And the midiclorians. The list goes on and on. When i walked out of the theater in 1999, it was hard to focus on Jar Jar being bad, because there was just so much badness to be had.
@@spencergrady4575 The two things I agree with in trekkiejunk's list are Jar Jar and midichlorians. Jar Jar is way too in your face in his role as comedic relief and midichlorians feels way out of Star Wars. Star Trek is the sort of science fiction where you expect techno-babble explanations for how things work, but Star Wars is a space fantasy, not a scifi. You never hear technical explanations on how blasters or hyperdrives or lightsabers work because a fantasy gives you story-elements as concepts, not explanations. When suddenly you're receiving a technical explanation on how the magic system of the fantasy works, it breaks immersion. In the end, the midichlorian bit was so short that I can easily over-look it. They just needed a way to show how the Jedi measure someone's Force power, to make the point that the kid has more power in him than master Yoda does, so I'll shrug it off.
Since his name was never mentioned in the original trilogy, people who didn’t know that the Emperor’s name was Palpatine weren’t aware that Senator Palpatine was the same guy, only 36 years younger.

My pops took me to see this when it came out at the Mann's Chinese Theater in Hollywood. Man what an experience that was.
After watching the Auralnauts version of this movie, I will never be able to see C-3p0 wake up and not hear, "FLESH! You promised me FLESH!"
I like how the movie answered your question. "What planet is that?" "Coruscant'
Jim Parsons with Danny Glover knees. perfect
Man figuring out who sidious is immediately while little kid me was shooketh the whole trilogy 😂 even after starting with the ogs
They only gave you half a tank of gas killed me 😂😂
Tip.
If your gonna watch all the movies. After Episode 3.
You should watch "Rogue 1" because that's the order in the Star Wars timeline. Its kinda like
Episode 3.4. Enjoy
Here to watch another of your Reactions! COOL CHANNEL!
man I forgot how much I love this episode.
Obi Wan was definitely pissed
I can see it now… Darth MurdaWhistle
The chance cube blocking out the cuss words is top tier editing. Hey editor, bravo!
Thank you, sir. LoL
“I bet if he got a headache, it was horrible” ✋🛑😂😂
I do love these movies. It doesn't change that they were a disappointment or that the dialogue is coarse, rough, and irritating-but I love them flaws and all. I don't watch them nearly as often though. Your comments about selling Jar Jar were freakin' hilarious, J. Along with Anakin's bowl cut. I knew you wouldn't disappoint. XD ♥
I'm impressed J recognized Keira Knightly! I didn't when I 1st saw this.
It’s nor Keira knightly it’s NATALIE PORTMAN NOT KEIRA KNIGHTLY
I just loved how you peiced everything together eom reacts everything you say is pretty much spot on . Bro 😎
If you look real carefully in the 1st scene of the galactic senate you will see a group of ETS Always a call back between Lucas and Spielberg
“Is that Kiera Knightly?”
Omg I’m 💀😂😂😂😂
Darth Maul is a Ninja. He said plot got him. Best Darth Maul death quote ever.😂😂
Dude, your commentary is top-notch. Had me cackling for half the movie 🤣
Now u see the orgins of obi wan and anakin🔥🔥
23:31 "No wonder you went to the dark side, you ain't sh*t." 🤣💀💀💀
Yoda gives Sam L. Jackson (Mace Windu) the side eye: "The F* you lookin' at, you wrinkly, green old muthaf*a??"
Cheers.
Maul is one of my all time favorite characters. Period. “Oh plot got him” 😂😂😂
Busted out laughing because that was real
“I’m sorry -they just killed *real one* just a minute ago” lol
Man you have so much to watch. You gotta hit the series at some point, there’s so many good ones -The Mandalorian, Kenobi, Ashoka
And if you want to know more about Maul, check out the Clone Wars and Rebel animated series 🤙
Huge fan of yours and Maul’s. Two real ones colliding in the best way 😂🤜🤛
Keep going man, always in for a great gut-busting laughter and hell of a time when watching 🍻
Tiny thing is that Knightly and Portman looked so much alike that even their parents on set got them mixed up.
The bowl cut is evil buddy
G'day from Australia 🇦🇺 I really like your channel you are a true to life person I like your dogs too , I've had dogs in the past, but now I got two cat friends Mr Bill & Ms Flitt it good to keep me sane a bit 😅 . Anyway keep up the good work you are good man
Phantom Menace is probably the best of the sequel trilogy.
@@trekkiejunknever understood the hate towards midichlorians. Seems like a bandwagon hate at this point.

I've been recommending a lot of movies on Facebook
lol They said it was Obi-Wan right at the beginning while you were talking about Liam Neeson. Almost every reacters misses that.
Lol I’m glad I wasn’t the only one. - J
My first ever star wars movie and one of the first movies I saw in theaters
