I love when you post! I know I will learn something new about playing .I've played with different effects pedals over the years, still have a digi-tech bp355 on the shelf, rarely used, and I have fun After awhile I wonder "Am I playing the effects, or are the effects playing me?". ..
In 2023 I bought a Lākland 44-02, a 4 string. I love it, but my go-to bass is my Lākland 55-02, a 5 string I bought in 2022. Thank you Julia, great video.

As an artist serious about their craft? I look around and return to your content and input for Thomann's Guitars & Basses. That's my strongest support. Really! I play bass in the worship field. I know! But today, the EBS UniChorus was revelatory for me to add on my board. And then check that sound in combination varying levels of reverb and delay. Thank for inspiration Julia! Sometimes what they want out of Church Bass is honestly... well... it should be more!

I bought just a couple of things last year, but my favorite (not only for 2023) is the Empress bass compressor. Such a fine piece of gear.

I went for the MXR M 83 Bass Chorus Deluxe a few months ago.
The revolt is tempting but I have the EBS Micro Bass 3 already.
Julia Hofer is the best. I can't play bass but were I to learn it some day I'd want Julia to be my teacher.

Who wouldn't? First song I would ask to learn would be..... Hot For Teacher.
My favorite gear is by far the Schecter C-1 Platinum with grover Machineheads, Tuneomatic Bridge, Satin feel, transparent finish (TMNT green, midnight blue, transparent black, purple or white front, black on the back being the newest edition). Comes stock with EMG 81 and 85 pickups, easy 9 volt battery access and once again the satin feel, especially up and down the neck can't be beat. Bass is my primary instrument but I like to write on the guitar and C-1 PLATINUM by Schecter is perfect for anyone looking for a great 6 string that cost only 600 on sale.
I’ve been eyeing the neon bass but don’t have one in the area to test. Hesitant to pull the proverbial trigger, but might now after this video! And loved the EBS pedal!
The neon bass and the 2 notes amp are wonderful. I hope to see you use them more soon!

The golden precision type bass have a damn good tone.
I have the Mononeon bass, and it's a VERY high quality axe. Forget that it's made in Mexico, the build quality of this instrument is great.

I remember about 10 years ago , Fender had Chinese built Jazz basses with the same pickup configuration.. they were excellent Basses , and quite inexpensive .. they do turn up for sale on Marketplace here in Australia

To me, best release of 2023 was the Squire Paranormal Rascal bass. It's superb!

Hi Julia, maybe I get lucky and you'll read this. Can you recommend some wide bass straps? I'm actually a guitar player, but as I'm getting older and older, my back slowly turns into a rotten broom stick. So holding my 350 tons Les Paul guitar isn't that easy any more. I'd like to try out some wide straps and I guess bass players probably have some know-how on that field ... thanks in advance! 🙏

Listening to the bass (solo'd) on my phone's speakers really shows how very little bass is produced by them.

Ooof, first time I've checked the price of a Harley Benton bass and been a bit dissappointed. Not that it's expensive relative to the competition. Similar price as equivalent Marcus Miller. But, I'm not sure that within the HB range, that price is justified. A lot of the parts improvements are still incremental OEM parts improvements. Can't have cost HB more than 100 eur more, yet the bass costs 3x the normal range and 200 more than the Enhanced series, which have similar specs. Finish looks nice, but 499? Can't help feeling 349 would be more in keeping with the rest of the range. At around 500 eur, I think most people would choose a Marcus Miller P7.

Ich bin noch immer irritiert über den Preissprung zwischen dem Standard HB P Enhanced und dem Jubiläumsmodell. Der Gigbag liegt bei 35€, so bleibt nur der Unterschied im Hals. Hmmm…. Aber er sieht so gut aus.
First of all it is great to see you! I hope your great playing is working out for you. The HB bass sounds like shit, period.The N bass sounded much better! BUT, would you want to be caught dead with it?

The Mono Neon is not a best of the year. Usually how a bass looks is not much of a factor but this bass is so mismatched and visually off putting that it has to be. There are few situations were this would work aesthetically. Like I said it usually doesn't matter but this is so loud it has to be factored in. The pickups he brought back for the model are dope but totally out weighted by the horrible colors. I would have to fork out tons of cash for a refinish to play one.
