It’s pretty neat watching you punch line in. I’m guessing ya’ll run rear mounted plows? Here, it’s WAY too heavily wooded, rocky, and steep. Plows are useless, so we’re strictly using the front blade(6 way). Started on a John Deere 350c, then a couple years later, 2009, I got a brand new JD-550J. Fully enclosed cab with a forestry package. It was like a Cadillac! I believe I miss the dozer just as bad as I do the job!

I see you running an open cab, that would suck in denser smokey areas when the air's heavy. I sure like me some fresh air filtration. I’m surprised you’re not using an enclosed cabin. That’s a lot of smoke inhalation.
@sinister184 We have many in our fleet but still have a good bit of open cabs. I love open cabs on wildfires. It let's me know if I am getting to close.

Looks like you’re making fuel for next years fire. I don’t think that’s the macro solution.
@@peregrinfalcon1 Oh no, they typically prescribed burn the bigger woods off each year. The younger timber is just too young to burn off.
I ran dozer for 30 years with cal fire
@@johnc.wunscheljr2873 What size?
Are you wearing an air mask? I swear I can hear one
@@devenbergeron155 I am not. It's probably the turbo and exhaust you're hearing.
@@Wildland_Firefighter either way this is an awesome video and that machine is an absolute beast
My that reminds me of my whole country of Canada last summer. My eyes and lungs just hurt thinking about all that smoke.
Hard work bad on equipment
It can be!

Damn straight
Live action viewing to keep the taxpayers happy. 😎
Yo I hate to be this guy but who the hell named this fire? We don't needmore wildfire.
@@DustinBowen1 It's the name of the location. Needmore, GA.
Are you sure you job isn't Dirt Bike Race Track clearing??
@@hime273 it can turn into that lol
Your title of this video is exactly what I've heard about you firefighters you start your own fires you guys need a little bit of money so you guys start a fire and you guys have been caught for it several times
@ddcmr9 No, actually many fires we do have is human causes from prescribed burns or arson. We've been having a lot of lightning fires.
I actually make no money on these fires because they are not federal. This is my job in protecting the county and serving the citizens in it.
@@ddcmr9 Also Needmore is the location of this fire, FYI.

@@markconnery2836 Thanks for watchingA
Put blade down
That dozer is also pulling a blade/plow.
I have my fire plow down behind me. I keep my blade up some to keep off stumps. When I get done plowing, I will lift the plow up and then drop the blade to widen the firebreak.
This is interesting, nowadays you have the women can do jobs as good as men crowd and yes, a woman could operate a dozer, but how many men would jump on this machine and do it just because it is fun? I know I would.
Gotta love the UA-cam algorithm! I commend you sir not only are you doing good by humanity you’re probably living your dream job! Keep up the good fight!🫡
Thanks, buddy! I'm glad you enjoyed it!
