Man, I miss when more DCI shows were like this. The drill is so sharp and the intonation is just perfect.
Agreed! DCI has turned into a queers-on-parade.
crown:
The Marine bands are top tier. The first note I started tearing up
As a former member of the Drum and Bugle Corps I can honestly say we did not like being referred to as a band. In fact, there is a Marine band in Washington DC. The Drum Corps and Marine band from Washington D.C. get along well together. But, it seems that the field bands, that are on about a dozen different Marine bases have a major hatred towards the Drum Corps and anybody that's ever been in them.
@@MasterYoistsurprisingly realy
There's nothing "flashy". The drill isn't going to melt your mind. What you are going to get is perfection and SOUND. Daaaaang they're loud.
THAT'S DRUM CORPS at it's finest
.
This is perfect. Minimal pit. No dancers pretending to be emoting. No props. No 3 ring circus. Just marching and playing at it's finest.
If you really want to focus on musical discipline, sure, this is great. But there's something about modern drum corps mixing of that musical discipline with intricate drill that provides for an excellent show.
Agree
It's funny that you say minimal pit because for me this is a lot of pit for them. When I would see exhibition performances of them back in the 90s, they had one or two marching xylophones and that was it. No real pit to speak of.
While there is beauty in this type of show. Modern dci is great as well. It adds more visual and tells story along with great music. Both offer things the other can’t.
Blud said emoting🤣🤣🤣
My older brother played a baritone bugle in the M/C Drum & Bugle Corps from 1968-72. I also served in the Marine Corps from 1977-83 as an Expeditionary Airfield Technician. Part of a proud Marine Corps heritage. Semper Fi!
Thank you both for your service
You are blessed! Thank you for being you!
Thank you for your service!
Only the play-ground ist not perfekt...
But the marching musicians TOP ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Keep all that 7011 stuff to yourself. 😂
Being serious it was a waste of my life and certain jobs should have paid more and given full scholarships afterwards. A lot of people say that things sucked but they wouldn't change a thing. I say that they are stupid or liars. My time would have been better spent flying helos in the Army or ATC in the Air Force.
Had the pleasure of watching this brassline warmup at the Winston Salem show, their intonation and blend as a group is second to none.
Except Crown.
I witnessed them on December 7, 1941, from Aiea Heights, overlooking the famed US Naval base you Americans know as Pearl Harbor, as they valiantly performed a complete program of Handel’s Messiah uninterrupted by what was happening around them. It was a stunningly magnificent display of musicianship, musical excellence and prowess, mental focus and discipline, and a devil may care display of defiance to the attack and the attackers. When the performance was concluded, a rescue force of SEALS and the Blue Angels escorted them to the safety of Waikiki and the Royal Hawaiian Hotel, where they collected their medals and numerous salutations, celebratory messages and commendations. Needless to say, a performance worthy of a Super Bowl halftime appearance.
So I’m late to the party but this was in my recommended today. What a show!! Clean marching lines. Sound was completely balance and clear. Drill was excellent without any fancy props!
Amazing volume for a unit that small. All players, for sure.
THAT is what a line of G bugles can do!!! Any-key instrumentation just doesn’t stack up …
The snap reveal at 6:21 of The Stars and Stripes Forever must have been massively impactful for the crowd seeing a wall of Marines march playing that tune. Amazing reveal for many who didn't know they were about to drop a certified classic!
Dude I love how the military was like "wait wait wait precision marching?? we do that all day let's GOOO" and came out swinging :D
No gimmicks. Just get down.
Plus, they kick ass on the battlefield. Real stuff.
Happy 247th Birthday, US Marine Corps! I love The Commandant's Own! Great memories from this summer! (I love hearing you start with the Troop March B cadence!)
Royal Marines 359 years. First "loose" (meaning organised ships as a unit) navy, the year 842, official Royal Navy 1546 under Henry the 8th.
I had the pleasure of seeing them at DCI this past August, they were freaking awesome.
They do make many public appearances and I saw them at the Rose 🌹 Parade and the Macy's Thanksgiving day Parade. What is a parade without the military bands?
It would be rare that the Marine drum and bugle Corps does the Rose Parade. The Marine units that do the Rose Parade are a combination of the four marine field bands from Southern California.
Happy 247th Birthday, US Marin Corps.God blees you.
Can you provide the WHOLE performance. The March out to their performing positions is often as spectacular as their playing… their precision is amazing.
Happy Birthday, Marine Corps! Thank you.
Happy Birthday USMC!! and Happy Veteran's Day!!! God bless the US Military and long live American musical excellence🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
i cannot express how awesome this is.
Damn, those Mellophones are killer!
Yea!!!
I was pleasantly surprised!! These Marines sound fantastic! They have a lot more movement on the field than I expected, too. I'm definitely excited to see their other performances!! Thank you for uploading this video. Great quality, too! Cheers, and God Bless!!
I saw them live and they were incredible. What a nice surprise to see this video today. Thank you so much!
Very tight. They don’t take the easy way. I marched VK 1983-1988. I know what it takes to get where they are...🇺🇸
To my beloved Corps, Happy Birthday and Semper Fidelis forever.
Reminds me of the good old days without all the dancing glits and glamor. Just hard core talent and discipline.
Durango Colorado 1962 American legion Fiesta days pradesh
Phenomenal performance Marines truly outstanding!
Such a magnificent display of talent expertise and hard work paying off!>>>🇺🇲🦅🗽
The sycronistity was absolutely flawless as was the music.
Congratulations on 50 years of patriotic performances of excellence and inspiration!
Praying that our kids everywhere begin to learn who our real superheroes are!
sycronistity ?
I absotively adore The Comnandants Own Marine Drum and Bugle Corps!! Also The Silent Drill Team!! A couple of my drum corps brother's played instruments in the corps, one played baritone, the other played a drum. I am very proud of them!! I try never to miss the opportunity to see The Corps!! The precision and beauty of movement is other wordly!! Semper Fi!! 🤍❤️
I definitely like this arrangement of Stars & Stripes better than the one they are doing this year. That 4-count pause followed by the company front push is epic!
The whole thing was amazing......the power chords remind me of many of winners from the 1980's and 1990's. Star....Madison Scouts.......I almost heard "wish upon a star" at 6:10. 7:15 sounds alot like a tribute to the USC marching bands cadence.........jsut me. I absolutley love it all.
Agreed!
Thank you for your service.
I had the honor of watching them perform at the Marine barracks in Washington, D.C. Amazing.
Wow the sound for such a small group! Marching and maneuvering 💯‼️
We are number one 👍 Semper Fi!
This is pure, unadulterated drim and bugle corp with perfect sound and displays. Thank you Marine Corps for showing the world how it's done. Shear perfection!
I was fortunate to see this US MARINE CORP at Tennessee MBA. Myself and all of the participating band’s color guards were part was of their performance. 7-10 isle, we came down through by the audience on the steps, towards the field with our different flags but each isle lead with an American flag. It was amazing!! Many years ago but I remember it fondly. Thanks for sharing and reminding me ❤!
The syncopated drum rhythms here would please any jazz fan. Great composing and arrangements!
Poise, Grandeur, Finesse and Talent ! America at its Finest!
Just. Absolutely. Perfect.
Job well done and thank you for your service.
As close to the good old days as it is going to ever get
The Presidents own. I saw the United States Marine Corps band at the Rose 🌹 Parade in Pasadena and the Macy's Thanksgiving parade. That parade always have military bands IE United States Army, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard making an appearance which then follows with the annual college football classic football game.
The Commandant's Own. The President's Own is the US Marine Band, and what you saw in the parade was the East Coast Combined band.
@@davidwarner3326 The Rose Parade featured The Marine Corps band from San Diego, Camp Pendleton, Lejeune. Air Force Travis, Beale, Vandenberg, Edwards, Davis-Monthan, McChord, Lackland, Langley, Tinker and the Navy and Army bands. What's a parade without the military or the Shriners?
So much practice and work to look this flawless
The basics executed to perfection......
Keeping up with the evolution of today's drum corps, The US Marine Drum and Bugle Corps has added a "pit" of Marine musicians who play the marimbas, xylephones and various other percussian instruments. Their mellophone section is outstanding. Their rendition of "The Stars and Stripes Forever" may be the finest in the drum corps activity.
Tears in my eyes. Yeah.
i love the forms so much omg
Absolutely AWESOME!!! SO appreciate their work!!!
Fantastic, love it!
I'm not crying, you are
love the marines!!!
whatever they do
This is the true meaning of tiny but mighty.
Unglaublich, man muss es sehen . WOW

Congratulations and job well done MSgt, the Marines looked and sounded GREAT!
Ahhhh, the Beauty of Perfection!
What a sight to see! They're all so awesomely amazing! I wish I could see them live.
This is deep. Glorious!!
*parabéns pela grande performance* 👏👏👏👏👏
Drums and bugles. No dancing or props - just music and marching. They way it should be.
Marines can do it all
Congratulations Joshua Dannemiller and thank you for your dedicated service. I grew up in the village of Doylestown, Ohio but I didn't not know Joshua Dannemiller even though my aunt Gertrude Weinsheimer-Dannemiller married into the Dannemiller family. Probably because I moved to Florida long before Joshua was born. Yes all worthless information🥱
I love their cadence!
Amazing!
Thank you.
Excellent
Great sound! Great show! GO NAVY!
Every. Move. Counted. Very. Well. Executed. 😮❤
This WOW! I'm in the UK. I've never seen anything like this! Marching so instep! This must be very difficult to keep moving around in different directions and plsy instruments. All praise to you. Thanks. 🙋😁🙏
That was a clean performance
I never thought I would hear the Dies Irae from the Verdi Requiem played by a drum and bugle corps!
Semper Fidelis. ❤❤❤
Absolutely love the power and precision awesome
Best of the best! Semper Fi.
After my 5 years I’m switching to the marine bugle corps. I want to actually follow in my grandpas legacy
I can’t wait some day to be just as good as them and be one of them
Seen them in 67-68 while I competed. Probably 50 horns. Bad ass👏👏👏👍
YES!
Very. Well. Excited. Inspirational. Yes.
I wonder how many of those high schoolers that were representing the 13 founding corps actually were NOT brass players.
Par excellence!
Fenomenal!!!!
Only the best need apply. God bless America 🙏 TY vets. thanks American Legion for DBC.
Great!
What a novel entertainment concept . . . wake up the crowd at the beginning of the show and keep them awake til the end. Loud is good!
