Wow one of the best videos I've seen walking on that Clouds Rest spine, been up the twice and can't get enough of the views sunrise and sunsets just amazing truly the best view in Yosemite.
Fabulous video. The final climb to the top of Clouds Rest is breathtaking and the camp site you picked was awesome. Really enjoying following your journey.
As soon as I saw your Tweet post I couldn't wait to see the new video. It is breathtakingly beautiful. No other PCT doc parallels your work. The bit on Clouds Rest was a might freaky especially with the wind in the mic! Gave me the heebie jeebies. I just loved it. Your camp site at the end is epic. I'd want to take a zero day right there! Keep safe and thanks for posting.
Thanks for sharing this stretch of your hike. We're doing Clouds Rest and Half Dome this September (2016). Hope we can set up camp where you did. Amazing views.
Wow, I'm kinda like you. I grew up with the Appalachian Mountains...never been to Yosemite. But that looks unreal...beautiful. Really wanna go hike that.
Will, thanks for sharing your journey with us, Watched the AT vids first, getting very inspired at age 53, just subscribed. Awesome, breathtaking, not enough superlatives, lol, and I'm sure its better in person. Cheers!
Great video we were up there the same day as you got an early start so probably missed you by a few hours. Yosemite was insane love your videos keep up the great work.
I have started this journey with your first videos of the PCT and have loved every minute. Great stuff. Maybe in a few years I will be there. But first will have to be the AT since I live nearer to it in Mobile, AL. I thought it was funny that you could see people taking flash photos of El Capitan. To me it sounds the same as people trying to take a photo of stars or the Moon and using a flash. But, that is the photographer in me. I will go enjoy some more of your adventure. Thanks you so much for posting. I truly am inspired and I admire you for the hiking you have done. Don't stop till ya drop. Cheers.
Wow - thanks for the video! Breathtaking, gorgeous and a bit scary just watching even speaker as a former rock climber. Bad knees (one total replacement) keep me off the trails much these days, so really enjoy seeing your videos of the amazing PCT.
Another fantastic video. Thanks so much for taking us on your journey. I'm at home looking after my children for the summer holidays and watching your videos is one way of helping inspire them to get outside. Thanks for doing this!
That hike up Clouds Rest near the top made me nervous just watching it. When you showed the guy hiking in front of you it gave a different perspective and didn't look as narrow. Awesome filming when it can make you feel like that while the person watching is sitting on a couch and watching it on a laptop.
Beautiful, ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS ! What a wonderful journey you're doing. What were the small pink/purple bushes in the crevices of the rocks ? And the burned area behind you, was that from lightening strikes, and did you have to hike through it?
Well I'm in Truckee at a guys house who does all the search and rescues for California, check out his videos CHP Valley Division. Search it. Sick. Lots and lots of rescues.
Amazing stuff. Love the video, as usual. When you have a break it would be cool to get a comparison of the PCT and AT. Things like weather, physical differences, social aspects, etc. Is seems like you had a more social experience? More side trips? Thanks!
Love your idea ,good for you for going l also have been to clouds rest and a four day hike back there and it was the best ever wicked good fun you can have! It's unreal or the realist thing ever! Now check out butternut goldens!
Stunning views bro!!!! Wow what an experience yo add to the list man. THANK YOU So much for sharing it. I've gotta get out there some day. Can you imagine what first explorers to walk up on that valley must have thought !!! Wow...God bless and thanks again
If I had not talked to you on the phone I would have been a wreck watching this video. That climb is absolutely awesome! Great shots, great commentary as you take us along on the climb to Clouds Rest.
So good to see a new vid from the trail. Keeping my fingers crossed for you as the fire reports continue in Cal. Incredible campsite, but you earned that spot and that view.
Love the series. Hoping you will be able to upload some of your trail footage later from Forester on up to Yosemite. That part of the Sierra's is so absolutely beautiful.
That is just crazy terrain and views. Thank you so much for sharing! That drop off and wind makes for some sketchy situations. Hope you didn't do it for our sake?
As an atheist Yosemite national park really makes me question my views. Also, John Muir was pretty accurate in his description of the place too. We're lucky as Americans to have such a cool place within our borders.
Awesome red beard!! Can I ask how you edit your video during PCT? Did you bring a mini laptop? I don't think you would... have been watching your videos since AT!!!
Well its been awhile buddy I check every day always cant for the next vid this one is beautiful So glad to see you guys trucking along stay safe and keep hiking
I was waiting very eagerly for your new video. I watched everything up till here and until you uploaded this one i have been watching your videos on the AT Hike. You guys are awesome. Random question or maybe im stupid but after your friend left on the AT hike did u just randomly meet Snorlax or did u know him before? anyways much love from Israel and cant wait till you get to the end. Peace.
Where you hiking down after the top to camp, is it the continue trail to little Yosemite valley? So the ridge is a must cross to get to Yosemite valley if you want to take this trail? Thank you very much
I was starting to wonder if something happened to you ;) But man was this worth the wait! what an incredible place! Can't believe those big trees growing out of the rocks.
I'm roughly at mile 1100 and have used 1.5 pairs of shoes. I say 1.5 because I started in the Brooks I finished the AT with. But I need new shoes soon!
My friend is always telling me about the crap she has seen on fox news, I guess I like being oblivious I would much rather watch the beauty and human kindness you and other hikers I follow experience on a daily basis. So I would like to thank you for counter acting all the BS. Hike on and enjoy!
Awesome vid Redbeard
Wow just simply wow
My favorite place in the world!!
Amazing Will.
This is so amazingly awesome
A gift. Thanks. Thank you so much. What a wonder.
Incredible
Was beginning to wonder if you had fell off a cliff it had been so long since your last video. Keep tracking on. Loving it
Wow one of the best videos I've seen walking on that Clouds Rest spine, been up the twice and can't get enough of the views sunrise and sunsets just amazing truly the best view in Yosemite.

Awesome video! Yosemite looks fantastic!
Amazing Views Will.. Beautiful
Keep on keeping on
Those views from Clouds Rest, as well as those from Sentinel Dome, are my absolute favorites in Yosemite. Thanks for posting.
Absolutely breath-taking! Thank you SO much for filming and taking us along for the trip!
man, what a view!
Nice camp spot. I have only been up there in the winter with snow shoes and still post holing.
Incredible views from on top of Clouds Rest! I really enjoy watching your PCT adventure and wish all the best to you along the way.
Keep up the good work! Love these videos. The landscape is truly inspiring.
I don't understand how anyone could give this video a thumbs down!! I'm a Yosemite lover and I love this video! Thanks for posts your PCT videos!
Thanks for sharing. Great camera work while climbing. Beautiful !
I'm really enjoying this journey, thank you so much for sharing.
awesome video.....I have seen those spring boils before at the Ocala National forest, the vistas and geography of this hike is just breathtaking!!!!
Fabulous video. The final climb to the top of Clouds Rest is breathtaking and the camp site you picked was awesome. Really enjoying following your journey.
Best hiking chronicles on UA-cam, period!
Loving all the vids Will - keeping on moving!! Take care
Truly awesome. Ty for sharing your journey with us. I live near the AT and had no idea the beauty on the other side of the country. Amazing.
Just found your channel and your videos - this is amazing! Thanks for taking the time to share such an incredible experience with us!
Another great video, and this one has to be the most breathtaking! Thank you for sharing your trip with us.
thank you so much for taking the time to make such great videos
Thanks so much for sharing! Putting that peak on my list. Amazing.
WOW! That is CRAZY! So cool! I hope all is well and your hike is going great! I look forward to each update!
As soon as I saw your Tweet post I couldn't wait to see the new video. It is breathtakingly beautiful. No other PCT doc parallels your work. very nice. when you get to Crater Lake in Oregon you will have another great place for sunset/sunrise.
Thanks for sharing this stretch of your hike. We're doing Clouds Rest and Half Dome this September (2016). Hope we can set up camp where you did. Amazing views.
Keep up the good work Will!
I just found this channel and this was the first video I watched. Awesome video, definately subscribing!
2nd time watching
Best video of Yosemite!
Wow! wow! wow!
I can't believe the view.
We must protect that place.
WOW!
Great video, as always!
Wow, I'm kinda like you. I grew up with the Appalachian Mountains...never been to Yosemite. But that looks unreal...beautiful. Really wanna go hike that.

Wow I am so jealous of those crazy amazing views!!!! :)
Wow - thanks for the video! Breathtaking, gorgeous and a bit scary just watching even speaker as a former rock climber. Bad knees (one total replacement) keep me off the trails much these days, so really enjoy seeing your videos of the amazing PCT.
Thank you Will. Glad to see your back to filming. I have missed my Red Beard "fix" for a while. Take care!
You R very brave!
Holy Cow!!!!!!!!!
I aways worry about you falling... The ledges always seem so narrow! Is that a trick of the lens? It is beautiful.
Another fantastic video. Thanks so much for taking us on your journey. I'm at home looking after my children for the summer holidays and watching your videos is one way of helping inspire them to get outside. Thanks for doing this!

What a wonderful journey you're doing.
What were the small pink/purple bushes in the crevices of the rocks ?
And the burned area behind you, was that from lightening strikes, and did you have to hike through it?
New subscriber here. What an incredible hike! I'm not sure I would be able to do that hike but sure as hel would love to.
I just had back surgery this week and this is definitely motivation for quick recovery. cant wait to get back out there
Well Red, I'd say it looks like you've lost some weight. But what an awesome video. 18:48 of heaven. Thanks for sharing your journey with us.
Great series Will! My only critique is that the recent updates have been in 60fps. The slower frame rate in the older vids was much better.
What an amazing vantage point! Does the PCT cross through Yosemite, or did you have to take a side trip to see it?
Dude, I think I have watched every video you have on UA-cam, but this one has to be the best so far. Absolutely incredible.
Thanks so much for the kind words! ✌🏼️
This is ware we are going. Hear we are. Okay? How was it getting there?
Will, this is the first vid since Forester Pass, that's a lot of real estate bypassed. Thanks for the Yosemite views.
Didn't bypass anything. Just don't have time to go through all the footage from trail. Stay tuned for the JMT video upon completion. ✌🏼️
If you want to see springs like that in the hundreds you need to come to Florida. Are you thinking of doing the Florida Trail?
Had to watch this as soon as I knew it was up. Can't wait for more. I wonder how many rescues they had to do up there?
Well I'm in Truckee at a guys house who does all the search and rescues for California, check out his videos CHP Valley Division. Search it. Sick. Lots and lots of rescues.
Amazing stuff. Love the video, as usual. When you have a break it would be cool to get a comparison of the PCT and AT. Things like weather, physical differences, social aspects, etc. Is seems like you had a more social experience? More side trips? Thanks!

Have you heard from any of the AT hikers such as Chair. Awesome views and thanks for sharing. Bob
Yeah Chair and I are still in contact. In fact my some of my closest friends are from the AT.
Thanks for sharing the videos and Good Luck! Bob
Stunning views bro!!!! Wow what an experience yo add to the list man. THANK YOU So much for sharing it. I've gotta get out there some day. Can you imagine what first explorers to walk up on that valley must have thought !!! Wow...God bless and thanks again
16:35 this is by far the most amazing camping spot I've ever seen. Btw, awesome work dude, keep it up!
Amazing video, well worth the 3 week wait :)
Glad you liked it!
If I had not talked to you on the phone I would have been a wreck watching this video. That climb is absolutely awesome! Great shots, great commentary as you take us along on the climb to Clouds Rest.
Wish you were out here doing it with me dad!
Old man with older knees, but my heart is with you.
Will Wood I'm a dad with good knees right now! Can I come along instead? :) Just kidding...love your videos!
Wow, that view makes Half Dome look tiny!
Incredible views man! Are you encountering smoke yet ? Hearing lots of reports of forest fires there in California.
Yes we are. We are in Truckee right now at a guys house we met and there was smoke outside throughout the day. 👎🏼
So good to see a new vid from the trail. Keeping my fingers crossed for you as the fire reports continue in Cal. Incredible campsite, but you earned that spot and that view.

When did you start your hike and when did you finish? Collecting info. Thanks :)
Im leaving for Yosemite in a couple hours for a 4 day trip on the JMT. Clouds Rest is on the itinerary as well.
Have a great time my friend!
get any footage of ediza/thousand island/garnet lakes? my favorite part of the sierras
All the rest of the John Muir Trail will be posted after finish. Too much footage to go through from trail sadly.
Will Wood gotcha. appreciate the great videos. enjoy the rest of your trip!
It's always a large charge to see a new video from you, Will. Especially since you go places I definitely won't. That last campsite was surreal.
Just wait....it gets better
Wow ! Felt a little vertigo on that ridgeline! Just great!
Will, is your camera attached to the end of your trekking pole? And if so, how did you attach it?
Wow, Clouds Rest looked hairy.
Well its been awhile buddy I check every day always cant for the next vid this one is beautiful So glad to see you guys trucking along stay safe and keep hiking
Hello, in this video did you start at tuolumne Meadows and then hike to clouds rest?
Yes that’s exactly what we did. 👍
@@RedBeard0924 thanks for the response. Probably will do that this summer.
wow...nothing more to say.
Peace.
Good question, I actually met Snorlax the exact same day my friend had to stop hiking due to his knee injury. So it worked out wonderful for me!
Cool man.Thanks.
Hey Will, what are you using to film this video, mount the device and what video editing software are you using? Great Video with vivid descriptions.
Where you hiking down after the top to camp, is it the continue trail to little Yosemite valley? So the ridge is a must cross to get to Yosemite valley if you want to take this trail? Thank you very much
There are other trails that you could take to get to the valley without going up and over Clouds Rest.
I was starting to wonder if something happened to you ;) But man was this worth the wait! what an incredible place! Can't believe those big trees growing out of the rocks.
What time of the year did you hike this?? And what was the weather like?
Dude gear update vid?
Soon hopefully!
Might i ask what camera you used for this tour?
Have you already bought new shoes? You said your last ones held up around 700 miles before you had to buy new ones.
Not marked as good as the AT. I dont see any markings actually
good lord that is sketchy
