Now it seems like a lot of theaters are part of chains throughout the country (or at least a decently sized portion of it) so it's fairly common to see the same movies everywhere, but it used to be more independent per theater, so I imagine that had something to do with it. Was probably more expensive to get the rights to play them, so they weren't as common at your, and I cannot emphasize the quotes enough, """mom and pop""" theaters. Of course, I could have this backward and anime movies were dirt cheap to get the rights to show and were only really at """mom and pop""" theaters because the chains and bigger names didn't care to be bothered with a cheap movie they didn't think people are going to watch. It's so weird going from watching anime on Toonami at 3am to buying SAO merch at Walmart. Like, this used to be a thing that not many people knew about. I feel like the cast and crew hated this film and they decided to make jokes in the dub mocking the film just like what ADV did to Ghost Stories. They could have done the same with Bio-Broly as well.

They really didn't have many lines in the original japanese version so the dub went the extra mile trying to give them more lines and personality, including giving 13 a southern accent.

'Not until the Fish Jumps' is such a theater-popping moment to get everyone cheering. DragonBall movies are always when they get the most self-aware and love the fans. Can't wait for the next and for theaters to open.
To this day, the best movie going experience I've ever had was seeing Battle of Gods in theaters, surrounded by a ton of other DBZ fans. It's a great movie on its own, but seeing it with a few dozen other people who all get excited when big moments happen brings it to a whole new level.
Like i've been saying, a lot of tfs jokes sre just weird lines that were in the old Funimation dub. They make fun of weird lines. Like, tfs did not make up Cat Loves Food. Yamcha actually sang that in the old dub.

To this day, the best movie going experience I've ever had was seeing Battle of Gods in theaters, surrounded by a ton of other DBZ fans. It's a great movie on its own, but seeing it with a few dozen other people who all get excited when big moments happen brings it to a whole new level.

My favorite line from, maybe, all of dragon ball has to be 13's speech with the "Don't you lecture me with your thirty dollar hair cut, goku dies!" The build up to that line is great and even with all the ridiculousness 13 has a point in this speech, where has they're free will gotten them when the saiyans so often use it to risk the lives of everyone.
