Hey Nadya, I've been following you since I was about 13 years old, ever since you were arrested in St. Basils church for that protest, I'm now 21 and I have to say, it's been a hard time for all of us. you've kept me going just because you have continued to fight against a government that has never had any intention of loving you or anyone who doesn't have money. You are a person that I genuinely admire and you're passion and work has not gone unnoticed, thank you for fighting the good fight. We need it now more than ever.

I understand that frustration of having family that you love and care about deny reality and instead believe the lies they are fed. My own mother is like that. The leaps of logic that she has to make to continue justifying her beliefs just so she doesn't have to admit she might have been misled are truly astounding. Meanwhile people are dying because of these lies.
My heart hurts for the people of Ukraine, all the more because half of my family immigrated from Ukraine, but it also hurts for the people of Russia who are risking so much to protest Putin's war and are paying dearly.

A lot of good people feel this way in nearly every land. That the very best parts and soul of humanity are being strangled, and stamped out of existence. You will have no imagination of your own. You will feed of the imagination provided. There is no where left to go to start a new country. We need to be better, we need to get along. The good people of this earth want a world where we all work together to thrive. Supporting and sustaining all life on this planet. Or we have forgotten ourselves, our purpose.🥂

He was a criminal since 1990s when he had connections with criminal gangs in Saint-Petersburg. And then they occupied the whole Russia. It's worse than Italian mafia, because in Italia they have a government which struggles with the mafia. But in Russia the mafia is the government. It's even worse than nazis Germany, 'cos in Germany they've had laws and strictly obeyed to the laws, but Putin has no commitment to the laws, he doesn't even care if he breaks them or not, he is the law.

I’m a good Greek American lady with a rebellious heart for democracy, like you. : ) I have also been through a lot being a queer woman and daring to marry my wife some years ago now. Some of our family members abandoned us, etc. But I cannot even imagine what you have been through - I mean, I may have lost my mind living in a Russian prison/work camp, but somehow you made it through, Nadya. Much respect ✊! I don’t want to idolize you, because you are only human, but honestly you and your activist colleagues are some of my top heroes. 😇 Also, I’m so very sorry for the brutal loss of your good friend. ABOUT THE BOOK “Read & Riot: A Pussy Riot Guide to Activism.” Maria Alyokhina's riveting account of her years in Russia’s criminal system and of finding power in the most powerless of situations. In February 2012 Pussy Riot performed a "punk prayer", taking on the Orthodox church and its support for Vladimir Putin’s authoritarian regime. For this, they were charged with "organized hooliganism". That trial became an international cause. August 17 2012, Tolokonnikova, and co-members Maria Alyokhina & Yekaterina Samutsevich, were convicted of hooliganism motivated by religious hatred and sentenced to two year imprisonment, Alyokhina's two-year sentence launched a bitter struggle against the Russian prison system and an iron-willed refusal to be deprived of her humanity. After activating a hunger strike protesting savage prison conditions, she was sent to a Siberian penal colony. A guerilla guide to radical protest and joyful political resistance by artist, activist, and Pussy Riot founder Nadya Tolokonnikova,
The face of modern protest is wearing a brightly colored ski mask.Nadya Tolokonnikova, founding member of the Russian activist group Pussy Riot, is a creative activist, professional protestor, brazen feminist, shocking visual artist, and force to be reckoned with. Her spontaneous, explosive approach to political action has involved jumping over barbed wire, kissing police officers, giving guerilla performances in crowded subway cars, and going on a hunger strike to protest the abuse of prisoners. She’s been horse-whipped by police in Sochi, temporarily blinded when officers threw green paint in her eyes, and monitored by the Russian government. With her emblematic ski mask, black lipstick, and unwavering bravery, Nadya has become an emissary of hope and optimism despite overwhelming and ugly political corruption.
Nadya’s ten rules for revolution: (Be a pirate! Make your government shit its pants! Take back the joy!) and illustrated throughout with stunning examples from her extraordinary life and the philosophies of other revolutionary rebels throughout history. Rooted in action and going beyond the typical “call your senator” guidelines, Read & Riot gives us a refreshing model for civil disobedience, and encourages our right to question every status quo and make political action exciting-even joyful

A+++! And I 100% agree with all, but gotta note that a situation like this isn't "Putin in a bubble" (or Bolsonero or Trump or etc etc etc), they certainly are atop "these situations" in many ways but cultural/social norms MUST be certain ways for these things to occur (wish I saw an easy, or ANY, answer- I will say that P.Riot getting publicity outside Russia is HUGE not only against Putin but, more importantly, against many of the cultural norms that allow these larger problems to ever occur. Studying Nazi Germany is actually a great insight into many of the mechanisms but, of course, can only tell so much since culture has changed so dramatically since then...but the base problems are still of the same variety)
Said it before but "Please don't change!", I just learned of upcoming US Gov't visit/consultation and am happy but immediately have concern/fear because the attempts to co-opt your points, to get you to "compromise" +/- "be practical" in 'softening' your messages, will be VAST and about as 'polished' as you could dream of. I do have more faith in your integrity than in anyone else I have seen, am eager to see & hopeful that "the common man" can accept the harsh truths/realities that you present because many are contrary to VERY deeply ingrained norms that're gonna be VERY hard for most people to realize&acknowledge (what you say Re Russian propaganda is wholly analogous to the US's "Fox news type" media, and I myself know the feeling of having family members who are 100.0% willing/partaking in closing their own minds & blindly accepting what they're told, in accepting things "because it's commonly-accepted", w/o any hesitation. It sucks & I hope you succeed, and have the utmost pity & sorrow for what you guys have&will have to endure to keep true to your messages.

She can not write the factual data but instead the editor gives her words that she can use and the words she can not use . then even when she writes the text the editor says she can not be neutral in her writing and that she MUST write that Ukraine is invaded and her text showing Pandora papers and Ukraine president as the owner of Vilas in Toscana, apartments in England and many other things that he got from criminal enterprise was removed from her text. so much about journalism in 21 century... no wonder all the young people are turning to podcasts. the mainstream media died in 21 century
