I am Hispanic American. My impression of my fellow Hispanics is that they are, probably, the ethnic group that works the most hours per capita. They buy homes disproportionately in their home countries (not me) and that's why they don't have high home ownership rates here in America. Our major downside is that we have a disproportionate number of criminals and corrupt politicians both here in America and in our home countries. I'm still proud of my fellow Hispanics, because there's a lot more of them who work long hours than who commit crimes. I work long hours too.

I live in the Dallas Tx area. I am not hispanic, I am of German ancestors. I know and like many Hispanic people. The thing about exercise is the Hispanic people work harder than anyone else. They do almost all road, roof, construction, and any other building jobs. Another thing is they get blamed with crime. El Paso Tx has the smallest crime rate of any large city in the US. If more people took the time to know the Hispanic people they would change their thinking.

Most construction workers are white (non Hispanic), but media loves ignoring that.
Also, as a Latino with a Mexican heritage, the idea of "work hard/harder" is terrible since that makes you a human exploit for corporations and government (no living quality).
I respect hard work, but most of the time, people saying "Mexican are hard workers" just like the cheaper pay for better quality work.

I was raised using ALOT of different ethnic labels that were, at that time, what those particular groups asked to be labeled as.
Those labels are obsolete and sometimes rude now… it’s ever evolving but meant with respect I promise.

That was lazy. The reason why there are large populations of Mexicans in US is because some areas used to be Mestizo/Mexcian territory, and borders were lost and won via primal wars and genocidal brainwashing, decided by dictators and primal fascist tendencies. Some Mexican land owners were murdered for their land during treaty times. Zoros family and village was decimated in Northern Cali during the gold rush, for gold. Western hemisphere was isolated with plentiful resources, and then conquistadores and 49ers used there eastern, multicultural influence to overwhelm the isolated western hemisphere with their immunological titer and technology developed weapons via centuries of cultural exchange in the Eastern Hemisphere, leading to guns and various other tech and weapon tech. The gold found in Mexico, Central America, and South America, was transported to Europe to create gold backed currency.
Hispanics are in the US because they are often Native Americans.

As far as your "I always assumed that the Hispanic population repopulated like bunnies" take, it's mostly due to kids of immigrants from literally any race usually having a lower fertility rate than their parents. When immigrants come to the US and their children get a better education and pay than their parents and fit culturally in a mix of their parent's culture with American culture they take on similar traits to US Millenials thus a lower fertility rate

"Latino" is usually accepted as a synonym for "Latin American" although the word "Latin" just "Latin" without the "American" actually stands for both the Latin language and a person whose first language come from Latin... technically Italians, French, Portuguese, Brazilians, etc are linguistically "Latins".

Spain, French, Portuguese, Italian are not Native American people, they are European. Hispanic and Latino are US government terms to classify people from Spanish speaking countries for the Census Bureau. These classifications are not in use south of the United States border. Both terms are controversial because they have diverted from the actual Hispania and Latin . The US Census Bureau made up the classification which has only been in popular use for about twenty years in the United States promoted by Mexican mass migration to the US.

You forget to keep into account a good portion of Hispanics/Latinos come from conservative Catholic backgrounds and those who have multigenerational roots here in the states tend to vote Republican and have been further shifting to the right of the political spectrum as of recently. Take it as an example, whatever so called ‘reclaiming’ you think is going to happen will be counter acted with a good portion of patriotic multigenerational Latinos taking a stand and putting an end to this so called phenomenon. Being born in the states as a 4th generation American of Mexican heritage I’m proud of my culture and roots but I’m also very extremely proud to have been born the United States of America. It’s where my great grandparents settled and called their new home and I will do whatever it takes to defend it and our way of life from any form of invasion. 🇺🇸

@@bryanitza-chulopez1658 That's because they have managed to introduce into your value system that to be a good American, you should try to look like the Anglo-Saxon you will never be. Actually, that land belonged to your ancestors, not theirs, but they have managed to make it theirs and that your grandparents had to ask permission to live in a land that was already theirs and that you also have to look like those who stole it from them. that you will never be. Every time you get up in the morning the mirror will remind you when you brush your teeth and see the Chicano on the other side.
Every movie, every book, every documentary on TV, every page of the history books studied in schools, how many remember that those territories were once yours? None. On the contrary, they tell you that to look like good Americans you have to call yourselves Bryan and Elisabeth, even if your last names are González or Cacahua. But they will never allow you to be the equal of white Protestant Saxons, unless you can physically remain inconspicuous enough. And they won't allow it because they need you. Yes. They need you to do all those jobs that even black people no longer want to do in the southern states. Yes, Bryan, that is the new American they are looking for in you and that, from what I see, many of you are absolutely in love with the idea of giving it to them. You behave like those Hindus recruited by the English to fight other Hindus in the British Army: sepoys. Is it funny that Sam has managed to have Mexicans dressed as policemen who patrol the border to prevent other Mexicans from returning to the lands that once belonged to them? Texas, New Mexico, California, Oregon ... Do you realize how ridiculous the political argumentation you have given is?

All hispanics don’t look the same.
You have Afro-Latinos, white Latinos and Mestizo (usually indigenous mixed ancestry). The first generation of mestizo were the sons and daughters of Spanish soldiers and settlers who had sexual relationships with Native Indians women but rarely married them. The Spanish conquistadors Hernan Cortes conquered the parts of America Aztecs, and Mexico became a Spanish colony. For 300 years Spain ruled the land until the 1800’s.
Regardless of race Hispanics or Latinos can be of any race and ethnicity.

Interestingly Spains caste system in America was Peninsulares or Espanoles, Criollos, mestizo, Indian or mulatto. There was no Hispanic identity and Hispanic is unknown outside the United States because Hispanic is a United States Census Bureau goverenment classification. There was no Mexico until 1824, under the new Republics constitution the citizens became Mexican as citizens of the newly formed Estados Unidos Mexicanos.

Yeah but it’s complicated. For example, there are Latinos who can be 80%+ European but look mestizo; likewise there are Hispanics who are 25-75% Amerindian yet look white. It’s just a mixed melting pot. What they all have in common is Spanish and Native American, with the exception of some Italian descendants in Uruguay, Argentina, and Brazil.

    • @raskolnikov76

      You are terribly WRONG...
Firstly, the Spanish Empire always encouraged intermixed marriages in Hispanic America... the idea was to extend the spanish way of living to the american territories... the Catholic Church played a major role inthat respect... I don't understand why people invent lies that spanish soldiers raped indigenous women and such, that was not the case at all... almost no soldier came from Spain to America, the vast majority were civilians who formed families and those were OUR ancestors...
Secondly, Spain didn't ruled the land of the Aztecs or Incas... they defeated the Aztecs and stopped the genocide commited by aztecs for years against neighbouring tribes... the Spanish Empire of that time created whole new cities and gave shape to land as we can see today, so they (which were in fact "we") ruled THEIR own land, which again were ours... it is ridiculuous to talk about the spaniards who came to the Americas in that time in third person, as if they weren't our ancestors... and they did a GREAT job in providing the spanish culture which not only is a very nice one but also is an element of identity and unity among so many racially different people that live today in Hispanic America, over the ashes of the Spanish Empire...
