The 10 Most Hispanic Cities In America

  • Wow! Some of these cities are really Hispanic!
Before we begin, we need to first establish exactly what a hispanic person IS. For our definition of hispanic, we will include all Americans who identify as being from countries that speak Spanish. I mean that’s how the government defines it. Therefore, the following countries are from which hispanic people are from: These include many countries in the Carribbean, South America, Spain, and of course, Mexico.
Now, hispanic is DIFFERENT than Latino. Latinos are people from Latin American countries. Those are the following you can see them there. You’ll notice that many of the countries are the same. That means you can be both hispanic AND latino. You’re from a Spanish speaking Latin American country. But for this video, we will particularly talk about the cities with the highest hispanic populations.
The Hispanic Population has grown in America, and, since the early 2000s, hispanic growth outpaced that of black Americans, as hispanics become the largest minority in the USA. Currently, Hispanics make up about 16.3% of the American population, or about 1 in every 6 residents.
Of course, before America was...America, much of this content was occupied by Native Americans and, of course, central and south American native populations - many of which are technically latino, but didn’t speak Spanish because the Spanish language was introduced to the continent by Christopher Columbus, who was...from Spain.
In this video, we’re going to talk about some hispanic history, bring up some modern hispanic stereotypes and look at which cities have the highest percentage of hispanic residents. There will likely not be any surprises. And before you freak out, I also did a video on the whitest and blackest cities, too, so I’m not picking on anyone. There are very few personal opinions in this report. Most are facts.

I am Hispanic American. My impression of my fellow Hispanics is that they are, probably, the ethnic group that works the most hours per capita. They buy homes disproportionately in their home countries (not me) and that's why they don't have high home ownership rates here in America. Our major downside is that we have a disproportionate number of criminals and corrupt politicians both here in America and in our home countries. I'm still proud of my fellow Hispanics, because there's a lot more of them who work long hours than who commit crimes. I work long hours too.

I live in the Dallas Tx area. I am not hispanic, I am of German ancestors. I know and like many Hispanic people. The thing about exercise is the Hispanic people work harder than anyone else. They do almost all road, roof, construction, and any other building jobs. Another thing is they get blamed with crime. El Paso Tx has the smallest crime rate of any large city in the US. If more people took the time to know the Hispanic people they would change their thinking.

Most construction workers are white (non Hispanic), but media loves ignoring that.
Also, as a Latino with a Mexican heritage, the idea of "work hard/harder" is terrible since that makes you a human exploit for corporations and government (no living quality).
I respect hard work, but most of the time, people saying "Mexican are hard workers" just like the cheaper pay for better quality work.

@Mongoose1981 it’s all interchangeable verbiage to a lot of Americans lol never meant insultingly but since everyone in the U.S. are descendants of people from other countries, naming and renaming and finding proper ethnic labels that aren’t insulting is pretty fluid here. I was raised using ALOT of different ethnic labels that were, at that time, what those particular groups asked to be labeled as.
Those labels are obsolete and sometimes rude now… it’s ever evolving but meant with respect I promise.

    • @apriljasso9731
      @apriljasso9731 2 роки тому

@Mongoose1981 I disagree. There’s nothing wrong with not losing your sense of self or identity in becoming a part of a larger group. I’m not communist sorry lol we are all, as human beings, very very different and those differences makes us beautiful.
Being a part of a larger group, proudly, while also maintaining your sense of personal identity is the hard part and also the most amazing. Americans are all different and wonderful and beautiful and all maintain their own sense of cultural identity while promoting a togetherness that really isn’t found anywhere else. We’re like the patches on a quilt…

Spain, French, Portuguese, Italian are not Native American people, they are European. Hispanic and Latino are US government terms to classify people from Spanish speaking countries for the Census Bureau. These classifications are not in use south of the United States border. I have been subjected to identification of race since 1958, when I moved to this Country. You made the same mistake in your video when you called Hispanic a race. Just as there’s no United States race, there’s NO Hispanic race. We are as much, or more, of a melting pot than the USA. When you report on ETHNIC groups, please consider this. Its a common mistake, but, does not speak to having sufficient knowledge to write about us.

Here is a good thing to know. A Hispanic is someone who is mestizo, castizo, European, or native. Racially that is what a Hispanic can be. You have a minority black population that came from Africa, but in the sense if blood, they are not real Hispanics.

The video in the background is NOT Laredo.
There are no mountains in Laredo, Tx. There's hills but no mountains, I know because I drive there often.
That neighborhood is probably in California.

Hispanics are also those who have Spanish surnames. Lets not forget that states like CA,TX, NM FL etc were full of hispanics at the time those states became part of the USA.

Much of the USA was a part of Spain and later Mexico before the USA conquered it so it’s no surprise that certain cities have large Hispanic populations. The Hispanics enrich this country so much, grateful for their many contributions to our nation and culture.
