We talked about how the Dem party manipulates the "minorities", and the media parrots what THEY say. "Money moves the world, don't lose who you are to it". If the DNC doesn't approve of a candidate, he doesn't have a hope in hell of receiving the official nomination at the party convention. Before his Presidential run, Trump played both sides of the aisle (he's been a supporter of both Democrats and Republicans over the years), and until around 2011 or so, was usually paying into the Democrat party more than the Republicans (even if just "slightly"). Before his office run, he was quoted as saying "it's smart to make/have friends across the board" and as a businessman, having the ear of political leaders in the two major parties is just an investment. Something changed around 2010/11 though, and he started making more direct comments about considering running for the office. Which is where a couple branching stories come from. There's the now debunked claim that He made a statement in an interview in 1998 that if he ran he'd run Republican. This one is cited a lot because he was falsely credited as saying something like "because Republicans are stupid", even though it was debunked by even Reuters (2020) and CNN (2016). Personally, I think whatever soured him on the Democrat party around 2010 is the real reason. When you add how the DNC treated popular "outsider" candidates in the last 4 or 5 election cycles, if he really wanted to win, I don't think he had a real choice to go any other path.

One of the many issues with the student loans is that the Supreme Court says it was illegal but he did it anyway. And yes, it’s definitely to buy votes.

My husband and I have been paying our student loans of $40,000 total for the last 25 yrs and still owe $9,000. Reason why, we can only afford the minimum payment of $300/month. We are fine paying our debt off, bcs that is the American way and you don't borrow money you can't pay back! I have applied for the forgiveness to see what would happen. Even though I met ALL requirements, no forgiveness. So not sure who's getting the money. Such a joke!

My car payment was way more than $400 a month! $400 a month is not a large payment. People just want to waste their money on frivolous things and claim they are broke when it comes to fulfilling their commitments. The government is paying those loans, so that means we are taking on the burden of lazy, irresponsible people who made a commitment to pay back the money themselves.

I was always taught two wrongs don't make a right. When you are in debt, quit spending! The college loan forgiveness does not make that debt disappear. It transfers it to people who did not sign on to that loan. People who never went to college because they couldn't afford it will pay. People who worked hard and paid their own debt will pay. People who put their lives on the line and joined the military to put themselves through college will pay. So it's a big...not just no but hell no from me. If the interest rates on the loans are adjusted to a reasonable rate, that's another option. But NO to loan forgiveness.

The Republicans are thus more democratic than the Democrat party, because the voters actually matter in the Republican primary.

Before his Presidential run, Trump played both sides of the aisle (he's been a supporter of both Democrats and Republicans over the years), and until around 2011 or so, was usually paying into the Democrat party more than the Republicans (even if just "slightly"). He was even a contributor to the Clintons, through both their charity and political campaigns. Before his office run, he was quoted as saying "it's smart to make/have friends across the board" and as a businessman, having the ear of political leaders in the two major parties is just an investment.
Something changed around 2010/11 though, and he started making more direct comments about considering running for the office. Which is where a couple branching stories come from.
There's the now debunked claim that He made a statement in an interview in 1998 that if he ran he'd run Republican. This one is cited a lot because he was falsely credited as saying something like "because Republicans are stupid", even though it was debunked by even Reuters (2020) and CNN (2016).
Personally, I think whatever soured him on the Democrat party around 2010 is the real reason. When you add how the DNC treated popular "outsider" candidates in the last 4 or 5 election cycles, if he really wanted to win, I don't think he had a real choice to go any other path.

The ad Trump took out in the New York times or Post or whatever was a reaction to the "Central Park 5" incident but not about the accused at the time. It was a call to bring back the death penalty for those who would commit heinous crimes like the one they were accused of. The ad never mentions the Central Park 5 at all. You can find it online, it's not about race, it's about law and order.
He didn't even seek the death penalty for similar crimes to what the central park 5 did...in the ad, he only called for the death penalty for those who kill

Even though I met ALL requirements, no forgiveness. So not sure who's getting the money. Such a joke!

My car payment was way more than $400 a month! $400 a month is not a large payment. I was always taught two wrongs don't make a right. When you are in debt, quit spending! The college loan forgiveness does not make that debt disappear. It transfers it to people who did not sign on to that loan. People who never went to college because they couldn't afford it will pay. People who worked hard and paid their own debt will pay. People who put their lives on the line and joined the military to put themselves through college will pay. So it's a big...not just no but hell no from me. If the interest rates on the loans are adjusted to a reasonable rate, that's another option. But NO to loan forgiveness.
