  • Hi everyone and welcome to my second video about my adventures in 3D Printing! If you haven’t seen my first one yet about choosing, assembling and testing, make sure to check that out! I’m super excited to be sharing my journey with you all and I hope it is helpful to anyone looking to join the 3D printing Community!
In this video I’ll show you what’s needed to create your first 3D Print including the slicing software Cura, finding your 3D print files, how long the 3D print can take, as well as the process of removing your final 3D print from the bed.
For my first print I decided to create a few Star Trek cosplay props, a comm badge from Star Trek Voyager and a phaser from The Next Generation.
Thank you so much for joining me on this journey! I’m so excited to be sharing my experiences and making these 3D printing cosplay videos for you as I bring my cosplay props to the next level!
For downloading the Cura slicing software, you can find it at the link below. They offer options for Mac, Windows, and Linux and it is compatible with most 3D modelling programs if you ever want to make your own designs!
    ultimaker.com/...
And here are the files I used for my two Star Trek cosplay props. Both of these websites offer free designs in .stl file formats that any 3D modelling/ slicing software should be able to read.
The Phaser was from My Mini Factory:

And the Star Trek Voyager badge was from Thingiverse:

My good friend Bill Olmesdahl who recently passed away last December made a Thor Hammer that he gave to me the last time I saw him. It was interesting to see your video about how the process works. He worked at West End Games in PA and TSR in WI. He would have loved your page and channel.

3D printing can be both a pain and a lot of fun, The pain comes from the trial and error when it comes to the printing, but that's kind of what makes 3D printing that much fun if you're a problem solver, you test out one way of printing a certain object and if it doesn't work you try different settings or orientations and try again.
