Well, this is refreshing!👍🏼 I was expecting another "I live in Spain but I'm British and voted Brexit!" video, but no... a good explainer, thank you (oh, I'm a dual-national so I don't have a horse in this race, but excellent stuff nonetheless!).
Thanks. I thought I’d inject a bit of common sense into the internet. 🤣
Good one Skatz and useful too. #Stillalive #FOF Keep on fighting f'n Freddy
Will do! 💪💪💪💪💪💪
I have both Cdn and Irish passports. How does all this work for me?
Use your Irish passport and you won’t need to do anything. ETIAS is for non-EU citizens and/or residents.
This may be a very stupid question so apologises in advance but I have both a UK and Irish passport. I am assuming I don’t need to apply as long as I always travel on my Irish one and not the UK one?
Great videos as always 😊
You have freedom of travel with your Irish passport and EU citizenship.
ETIAS is only for non-EU citizens and/or residents. Leave your UK passport at home, it’s hardly worth having one unless you’re travelling outside of Europe.
Hi mate I have an Irish passport but my wife doesn’t do we need this I know I don’t as I’m an eu citizen with my Irish passport. Another question I haven’t used my Irish passport yet I assume my wife can enter the faster lane when entering Spain as long as she’s with me can you clarify please 👍
No she can't enter the fast lane. It's pretty obvious. Different rules apply to her.
ETIAS is nothing compared with visa applications that take your time, money and energy. 90 Euros for 15 days in 1 month single entry, this if you're lucky enought to avoid a refusal.
True
Hi Skatz, thanks for another great video, the one thing I cant seem to find an answer to is, if you hold a UK passport but have residency in Spain do you still need to apply for ETIAS. Thanks my friend
Glad you liked it.
As an EU resident you won’t need ETIAS, and your TIE holds your biometric info.
@@youtoospain Thank you Skatz
So, as a UK passport holder with a Spanish TIE, I know I can exit and enter Spain without ETIAS. However, I've read that under the WA agreement I don't need ETIAS to enter another EU country, let's say Portugal. However, my TIE is NOT under the WA, and I can't find any info if this makes a difference. Therefore, what rules apply if I want to travel to Portugal, etc, with my Spainsh TIE without WA status?

Look further down the page about people who won’t need to use ETIAS on this ETIAS website a few paragraphs below where it says the bit about WA residents.
It says holders of residents permit of any EU country, so no you are exempt.

This other link confirms which permits make you exempt, scroll to page 33 for which Spanish documents are valid.

@youtoospain Thank you Skatz. Still Alive! 🥂
The ETIAS system does not apply to Algeria? What about the procedures at the airport, fingerprints and photos? Are they only for countries like Britain... or for all travelers?
Thanks my friend.
No because Algeria isn’t in the Schengen Area.
It does apply to Algeria yes, it applies to all who don’t hold an EU passport or residency card.
blame Brexit.most people
do.
BHAH BREXIT
Lol.
It’s only €7 for 3 years and it’s better security, so I don’t think it’s a bad thing at all though. And who goes on holiday on November 10th? I can’t see the queues being all that big. Christmas travel will be when it hits the news maybe.
😂 Beware the savage jaw of 1984.... or in updated lyrics, 2024. 😂👍
Lol
@@youtoospain Are you paid for Lol?
@@acamiln8354 ??
This only applies to non EU migrants, not the general population. Xxxxxx
Yeah, I said that in the video.
