The Super Mario Party: Jamboree trailer has got me super excited! Something I and many others noticed in the trailer is the presence of two Bowsers, one playable and one as an NPC. What is going on?

Every Mario Party game has a storyline, I could be crazy, but this is my theory; I wouldn’t be surprised if Bowser tried to get Kamek to make a decoy of himself and his decoy went crazy and decided to be evil on his own, which may result to Bowser and his minions needing help for Mario and friends to help stop it from ruining the Mario party festivities, but again, it’s just a theory.
To be fair their always been multiple Bowsers since the very first game with the goomba disguise as Bowser in all the worlds except world8.
Kamek transformed himslef into bowser like bowser and flower castle in Mario wonder
Given now that giant Bowser is glowing purple, I'm guessing its a creation of Kamek's magic.
It's not really rhat bad. Sure, I'd prefer to fight againtst real Bowser, but it will still do.
And if it has a narrative reason, then it's not even distracting.
Didn’t even consider it could be some kind of magical clone. That makes it even less likely we’ll get comedic bowser quips
@@TheGameCubicleMaybe Bowser could get distracted and not listen to the instructions so he gets confused, oh well, that’s just a theory.
I wish it was a newly introduced villain taking over the party instead of just using a magic holographic Bowser lol that would've been so much better.

I'm pretty sure you can see Bowser as a playable character on that very board, so this was confirmed

What if Pauline gets the role for the DK space? Makes more sense because DK was originally a villian

I thought of suggesting that but decided to go with Toadsworth instead. Funky strikes me as more of a playable character or a different sort of event space. Like he's a cool dude but I don't see him giving away free stuff the way I can see Toadsworth or Donkey Kong doing.
Also Funky got to come back to Mario with Mario Kart recently but poor Toadsworth hasn't been seen in a new game in far too long.

Omg! So there ARE 2 Bowsers! Maybe the giant Bowser is that statue you get to see when they're flying on a hot air balloon to the isles, Kamek probably reanimated it so he can serve as the antagonist of the game, while Bowser himself gets to have fun with everyone else, because they're no longer shying away in inviting him and his crew to the party like in previous games, and yeah, Kamek probably did that because he just sucks as the big bad taking people's stuff xd, that could explain that strange aura making him glow, and specially why he releases magic playstation symbols when hit by cannonballs
And I think first time Bowser was playable in Mario Party was in 4, at the beach volleyball minigame

Oh man I guess 10 might be the third time he was playable. Had no idea about the volleyball in Mario Party 4. The one I was thinking of is actually after that. It didn’t even show up when I researched the topic to double check. That’s some deep Mario party knowledge.
@@TheGameCubicle yeh, that particular minigame let you also play as Toad, Boo, Shy Guy, Goomba, Koopa Troopa, and Koopa Kid for the first time in the series (albeit very limited)
And I think Bowser was also playable in MP5's Super Duel mode, and was the only place DK was playable in that game
Yes super duel mode was what I was thinking of. I played a lot more 5 than 4 back then
@@dustymcwari4468 Actually Bowser was a nonplayable opponent in that mode. Not it matters, since all car parts are accessible to all characters.

They should've replaced Bowser on the boards with Dry Bowser (I know it's still him but a different look basically) like they replaced Toad with Toadette in Super Mario Party and Mario Party Superstars and now a Yellow Toad in the future (good idea!)
Dry Bowser is too monstrous. It wouldn't have the comedic personality of Bowser. However, it seems like Bowser might not have that personality anyway in this game so if that's the case then Dry Bowser would work.
So glad Toad and Toadette went back to playable character. Should have been Toadsworth or another unique character instead of a yellow Toad because Mario Party works better with a more defined host. But at least with yellow toad we don't lose playable Toad and Toadette.

I think this was a good compromise. Bowser not being playable was kind of a deal breaker for me from all the way back to the first game. To be honest, I felt like Wario seemed more like the "I'm gonna be a jerk to you and steal your money and plaster my face all over everything" character than Bowser. At least before The Mario Party series changed that. (You guys remember the Wario commercials back in the day?) But just like you said, there are a lot of people who like him in that role because of the nostalgia behind the series.
This way though, most people are happy. Some people won't like it for one reason or another, but I'm cool with it.
Didn't consider the Wario angle. I guess since Wario has always been playable in Mario Party it didn't occur to me he could be an NPC. I think Wario would more so steal coins or items but I don't really see Wario stealing stars. That's definitely more of a Bowser trait.
@@TheGameCubicle very fair point. Especially since he steals the stars in Mario 64.
But nonetheless, who am I to tell people how to feel about Mario characters 😆. I’ll take the compromise as I think it’s one of the closest things we’ll get to pleasing most people.

I bet that in the inteo like in all mario parties, there's gonna be a reason why there's a second bowser like bowser wants to join up on the latest party but also wants to be a terror so kamek used his magic to cook up a clone of him but now the clone is being too evil so only a mario party can stop the threat

I'm glad we're getting Bowser Spaces. I hated the Bad Luck Spaces in Super Mario Party because they didn't feel threatening with Kamek.
Bad luck spaces did not do it for me. On the other side of the coin I'm not the biggest fan of lucky spaces either (which are still around in this game) because a standard roulette wheel is a lot less interesting than something like Donkey Kong making an appearance.
They couldn't even commit to Kamek taking the villain role. He's not intimidating like Bowser, so they should've leaned him more into a shady scumbag type. Not to mention, he let you off easy when you landed on his space.
It would be kinda funny to see bowser party come back somehow but the real bowser still gets bullied with everyone else vs the fake bowser

They're still missing the Koopalings though.
Maybe it's a fake Bowser or some result of magic for the event so Bowser can join in. Or possibly a story mode related thing.
With the Bowser Spaces returning, makes you wonder what would happen if Bowser lands on it this time, time will tell I suppose
I remember in a Mario and Sonic game a similar thing happened but it was a fake with a goomba and super leaf behind it like in the og super Mario
Man, I totally forgot that in Bowsers first appearance in the entire Mario franchise he wasn't actually a singular entity and had 7 false Bowsers lined up before him. I guess Bowser having clones is nothing new in the series.
Playable is the right role for Bowser in Mario Party.
His first playable appearance was in Mario party 4s beach volley folley mose
I think they should have made Dry Bowser playable instead, that way the Bowser spaces and storymode can have the fun Bowser personality and Dry Bowser basically just exists to look cool anyway so it would satisfy all the Bowser fans wanting to play as him.
Maybe Dry Bowser is an unlockable character (probably as is Dry Bones)

7:25 actually it's not that weird. Bowser canonically had a twin brother in Super Mario Bros and the Lost Levels, the main difference is his brother has a bluer hue. Bowser also has the means to transform random enemies into exact copies of himself.
What they are bringing back his brother and the purple shine is how the interpret the blue?
It would be nice, but I have a feeling that's just Kamek using his powers to transform into Bowser, you can see his usual little magical symbols on King Bowsers Keep, I think?

I personally think it's weird to make Bowser playable in Mario Party. He's supposed to be they guy who screws you over, not the guy you play as.
Yeah that’s probably why they’re putting in two Bowsers. They want to have both. I probably won’t be having Bowser as my character of choice or as any CPUs I go against because it’s a bit immersion breaking but I’m glad Bowser fans who want to play as him at least have the option without us losing the classic bowser space

I see pc bowser purple. Bet purple means he robot bowser made by bowser. Or since purple close blue. Might reference to bowser brother so might be him in mascot. Bet we get story might telling about bowser and all stage story.

Why not make a Bowser Bot or an original character for Bowser to be playable with? Or do literally anything else with Mario Party?
I actually wrote a whole section about Koopa Kid being the "stand-in" for Bowser that was playable in Mario Party's 5 and 6. I ended up cutting it out just because the video was getting a little tangent heavy (notice how I go off on like two unrelated points towards the end lol) but before Bowser Jr. there was this character who was like a mini Bowser and they made him playable in 5 and 6 but then downgraded him back to NPC in 7 and then he was never seen again probably because of his design similarities to Bowser Jr.
Honestly, I do believe Koopa Kid and Bowser Jr. can coexist (I might do a video on it but I'm concerned the character isn't popular enough and it won't get views) and that Koopa Kid was a great way of having a "playable Bowser" without losing Bowser's presence. It's probably the only better and less clunky way of doing so than just having two Bowsers (which I don't take issue with but I do think it may be less effective in terms of game immersion).

I still think this Bowser is actually a copy cat that Kamek created using a big Bowser statue. The original Bowser is the one we play as and rhe faker will take his old place
