  • This is my Apple Card Review for 2022 where I go through everything that you need to know about the Apple credit card to answer the question, “Is the Apple Card worth it?” In this video, we go over all of the Apple Card benefits along with the positives and negatives for all features of this popular credit card. Overall, while the Apple Card does not offer too much, its simplicity will be very valuable to a lot of people looking to use an easy credit card.
Even though there is no welcome bonus on the Apple card as of the filming of this video in 2022, the 2% daily cash back on all purchases with Apple is a nice feature. The other earnings rates of 3% cash back at select places including Apple is ok, but I don’t like the you only get 1% if you use the really nice metal titanium physical credit card.
After I go over all Apple Card features and benefits, I then talk about the types of people that should and should not get the Apple Card.
*These offers are subject to change. The current offers are listed as of the filming of this video.

Loved the Apple Card for repairing my credit! It was the only card I could get approved for. Paid it off every month for a year and am now building my Chase Trifecta.

What about someone with no credit? I wanted a credit card through my credit Union but it was denied due to my low income and me not having my job for 2years or more. I really need a credit card to start building my credit though. My bank did a credit report and like I said, they told me I have no credit at all. Which makes sense I pay everything in cash.

I think it’s an awesome beginner card but also for people trying to rebuild their credit and maybe have a secured card only. The interface is so helpful for people who’ve struggled with their finances before like myself. Really clear and easy spend tracking and tells you straight up how to avoid fees/interest.

@@greeneyesfromohio4103 in your situation I would actually go for a secured credit card first, something where you just pay a deposit and then make small charges every month that you pay off in full for a year just to build your credit. My sister got this and noticed it was an easier one for us to get (Canadian citizens living in America). Not sure why, but maybe they don't take our credit from Canada and we're starting from scratch so we don't have much credit for companies to look at. (I got denied by a lot of companies 😅)

Thorough and fair assessment! :) i’ve had this card for a year and I must say I really like it for what I use it for. I mainly got it because I am in that Apple ecosystem, so for me it makes sense to have my iTunes purchases, iCloud monthly fee, Apple music charge, and an occasional Apple device with the 0% financing on it. I financed my iPad Pro on it last year. Also since I have “behaved” on this card lol… they bumped my $1500 limit to $3000 in only a few mos, and then 6 mos later I asked for more (because of that one annoying thing when financing a new product how it takes away from the available credit and makes your ratio look bad), and they bumped me up to a $4750 limit. I think it’s pretty weird they didn’t just give me an even 5000 lol but hey not bad for one year, right?

I use Apple Pay and when I had Samsung, Samsung pay, as it is safer than inserting your card physically. It also has a cool security feature that changes the Security code automatically. Not to mention it literally took me 1 minute to apply, get approved and start using the card. I shared the card with my gf and we both use it that way. I fly Southwest a lot and transferring 1:1 points from the Freedom Unlimited (only possible if you have one of the Reserve cards, of course) is worth it because I can usually get at least 1.3 cents per point when redeeming for Southwest flights. If I get flights where it’s closer to 1.5 cents per point for the redemption, that comes out to about 2.25% back on your spend. And I don’t have to worry about whether or not a vendor will/won’t take Apple Pay. PS I have both cards LOL

I completely agree with you, if you are using the CFU to transfer points and get better redemptions like that, then its a better option than the Apple Card with no questions asked! That higher potential rate of redemption is well worth it. I've gotten around 4 cents per point by transferring Chase to Hyatt before which would make it like my CFU is earning 6% back on everything and that's a great deal!

I din't know anything about cards at all and just wanted the 'cool apple card' Fortunately I had the sense to pay off and in full every month and was able to build my credit with it. But really, knowing what I do now. I would have gone with a Chase card to start building credit and earning points in their ecosystem or an Amex Everyday for the same reasons.

WOW. You know your stuff in DETAIL. I just subbed! Definitely need to look into credit utilization 👀 ive been using a Wells Fargo Reflect card as a debit card and usually pay it off after every few purchases and days before the pay date w a calendar reminder. In the 6 months I’ve had it ive paid ~$6 in interest just from that 2nd month i started using it (the first month i didn’t have much money in my debit account so woulda been risky) one purchase flew under my nose eight around that pay date👃. That’s when i added a deadline to my calendar. Anywho, i am buying the latest iPad Pro 11in 256gb as the refurbished of the previous one is only about ~$50 diff. But id be using it for creative work, and for my mom to take peloton classes (the $12/mo app version, not the $40/mo one 🙃) on our cheap home bike 😂 so for me it is worth the newer features and specs. I appreciate your help, i could pay it in full, but i have an iphone so should be even easier to just do the same thing ive been doing for the Reflect. Financing will make me feel better about getting the latest model 😂 And now I feel confident doing so thanks to u 🙏🏽 God bless!!❤

I mean I get what you’re saying from the “if you have the cash to buy it then pay cash” logic but that would be kind of foolish. The point of credit is to build trust and free up liquid funds. If you’re just gonna pay cash for everything then what credit card is really worth it? You wanna build that trust so you can get big credit limits. So yeah even if it does split up payments, like you just said “you’ll have to pay it back later”. I mean, so would you with any other credit card lol. Credit is a game you must learn about

Question for everyone... Say for example you have a credit limit of $1000 and you opted for an installment amount of $600 to be paid in 12 months. ($50 per month)
    - Is it 50/1000 utilization per month? Like amount to be paid over the total credit limit?
    - Or 600/1000 first month, 550/1000 second month, 500/1000 3rd month and so on and so fort utilization rate? Like it's basing on the total financed amount divided by credit limit which means your utilization will be so high for a couple of months?
Just need to understand so I can wisely build my credit score. Thank you!

    • @jal7068
      @jal7068 2 роки тому

If you keep your utilization under 30% by the report date your credit score will not be affected. Just make sure you payoff the other credit card that charge interest rate and keep monthly installments on Apple Card; due to its interest free if you buy Apple products under installments. Make sure it’s under installments not purchase in full.

Or can I use any card like my Amex gold with Apple Pay and still get that 2% with the Apple Card.
