    Been watching your channel for well over a year now, and it still blows my mind how easy you make mul-t-locks look.

      Thanks for watching... my skills with MTL's would make much more sense if you knew how much I practice. ;-)

    Meh, come back and talk to me when you get a 30mm shackle on a 5kg padlock... 😜 joking aside, that is a beast! Fantastic picking as always

    Nice work. I always find it amazing how easy you, Bill and other professionals here can make this look. What concerns me a bit is how the general public, when they see these locks so easily being opened, do not really understand the level of experience it takes to actually do this. I have a few original 18's btw, split body versions :-)

    • @lockpickinglawyer
      @lockpickinglawyer  7 років тому +6

      Thanks Pat. You make a very good point. People see a video like this, but don't see the many hundreds (maybe thousands) of hours that I invested in MTL's alone. These locks are quite secure. The handful of people capable of opening them in a reasonable amount of time are not the one who are looking to steal your bike. PS - I assume from your username that you are associated with the lockitt/cyclebitz company. I've ordered quite a few items from the company, and have been pleased with me experience. Happy to see you on my channel!

    Haha, you might need to go to the gym now to get prepared for such heavy lock ;-) Well done picking it and I do admire you for picking padlocks in the had. Cheers :-)

      +Potti314 Thanks... I never though strength would be a limiting factor in picking. I'm starting to prefer picking in hand, just for a little extra realism.

    Very good, LPL. Equipment check for the Mul-T-Lock E18H - pick (required), tension tool (required), and a protein shake (advisable).

    I bought one of these that had been used a couple of times so was almost new. It came with a credit-card type card that meant an extra level of protection, in that you could not get a copy of the key (presumably from Master) without the card. Also this is an extra level of convenience - if you lost the keys entirely you can get another just by presenting the card. This is great so long as you have a very secure place to store the card. As I bought the lock second hand I am presuming only one of those cards came with the lock from new. Always a good idea to get second-hand security stuff sent to a different address, say for instance you were locking your motorbike or garage, it would be pointless if someone knew where you were.

      Thanks. This beast has been on my watch list for a while. They usually come up in the $325-350 range (and don't sell), but I finally found one at the right price. The funny part is that I literally have no chain or hasp that this shackle fits through!

    • @PapaGleb
      @PapaGleb 7 років тому

      Wow haha thats hilarious. I think you should have put some more locks aside it to better show size comparison. Like a 700 American or Master 3. For me personally, its hard to understand its true size as I am not that familiar with the size of that other MTL.

    The only safe locking method is to take a 20mm steel ring and weld it close with another ring on top

    • @lockpickinglawyer

  • @Minoku90

    Would it be possible to put a MT5+ core in this lock?

    • @lockpickinglawyer
      @lockpickinglawyer  6 років тому +1

      I don’t think so. It takes a special core, and the mt5+ wasn’t introduced until this lock was discontinued.

      That’s unfortunate, this would be the perfect Mul-T-Lock for the MT5+

    • @JessHull
      @JessHull 7 років тому

      Yes that lock looked VERY hard to hold. It seems it would almost be easier to pick if it was hanging on a chain or something like it would in situ. Thank You. It was only my second attempt at a challenge lock so I was thinking it would be quite easy. So thank you that gives me a bit of a boost in confidence, lol.
