I am a biological female but my voice is very deep because I have high-levels of testosterone and twice within the last month, I had two complete strangers think I am a transwoman. One of them happened while I was getting taco bell and the man was fully like, "Here you go, SIR" and "Would you like sauce, SIR" even after seeing me at the drive-thru window he just doubled down even more. I didn't bother with correcting him. Truly it is so funny to me that someone would want so aggressively to be "right" and think that they're so good at clocking trans people that a fully cisgender woman has him confused

Another thing Peta doesn't understand about sheep. The wild ancestors of sheep used to shed their wool, but domestic sheep do not. They MUST be shorn. An overgrown fleece is heavy, may cover their eyes, and could even cause the sheep to overheat. Evidently, Peta has never seen a video of a sheep that got lost in the woods and was found later with a mountain of matted wool on its back

After letting him go on and laughing at him for a bit, we then politely informed him that I'm actually ftm, and had transitioned FROM being a girl. that story really marked me, like i just find it hilarious that transphobes will in reality target anyone who doesn't fit into their narrow view of what the gender binary should be like, even if their victims are cis themselves.

I was born female. I'm genderfluid (any pronouns) and don't identify as cisgender, therefore identifying as trans.
When transphobes find out I'm trans, they don't know what to do, because I look like a guy, sound like a girl, don't get offended when they try to misgender me, and won't tell them what I was born as. It usually devolves into them begging me to tell them what's in my pants, at which point I tell them politely that this is both harassment and mental illness, and I hope they get well soon.
Watching them have mental breakdowns because they can't tell what I am or how to offend me is very very satisfying.

Erich Maria Remarque, the German author who wrote “All Quiet on the Western Front”, was persecuted by the Nazis. He was a WW1 veteran who thought there should never be war again. The traumatic experience of WW1 made him a vocal pacifist. He was very outspoken against war, militarisation, war mongering, etc - so the Nazis absolutely hated him. They 🔥 burned and outlawed his books, he had to flee Germany and live in exile, he was stripped of his German citizenship, etc. They executed his younger sister who stayed behind in Germany. So it is more than a bit stupid or ignorant to get this bit wrong and call the movie “anything Nazi”… considering that the author was literally persecuted by the Nazis because of the very book the movie was based on!

The thing about mocking people for learning "basic" things is that it is endless just how many things we all do wrong without realizing it. I always had my shoes come untied. It was a thing--my laces were always twisted and my shoes came untied every 5 minutes. I was in my 20s, educated, employed, and unable to tie my own freaking shoes! I mocked myself while I looked up "How to tie your shoes," but immediately found out it was never my fault. I am left-handed. Very, very left handed. I grew up unable to imitate how right-handed people did things, because my brain didn't know to flip things backwards, and I was never specifically taught that this is a thing I needed to do differently from most of the other kids. I found a detailed diagram of shoe-tying, and re-taught myself to tie my shoes. As an adult, I had to purposefully build-up the muscle memory that most people had instilled when they were 5. But now, my shoes don't come untied! So, yeah, look up how to sew buttons back on your clothes, or how to properly clean a hardwood floor. We have the information right there for a reason!

The thing is, everything in the world is for right-handed people, so naturally me trying to open it with a left hand was bound to fail. Also, I've never had to use a curling iron, and then when I was well into my 20s I needed to help my dance team girls with their hair, and I struggled so much, because I could not figure out which way to twist it, even though it's very simple if you are right-handed.😢😅

I had a pretty similar thing happen to me, even though I'm not left handed. My parents 'taught' me to tie my shoes when I was 5 years old by standing 3 feet away from me saying look and then tying their own shoes quickly without explaining anything. Needless to say I couldn't figure out how to do it and they completely gave up even that after I couldn't instantly figure it out and just bought me velcro shoes while occasionally mocking me for it. At 20 I bought a pair of shoes with laces and looked up how to tie them for myself and got it after 10 minutes though I had to occasionally look up the steps again for the first week while I memorized it. Could have learned when I was 5 if they'd just bothered to actually teach me, still wish school would have taught me.

It’s always the one who haven’t actually experienced that trauma. I’ve had women tell me they want it to happen to then bc it means they’re attractive. It’s really weird and kinda sad. What’s upsetting (as a female victim) is that when I come across posts from people supporting male victims there’s always hate/aggressive comments from other men. They just can’t relate or expect them to “man up or “go gym”.And some just can’t relate to women, so they don’t share bc most victims are women and if it happened to a man “it’s not as serious” or is taken as a joke. I’ve seen women say stuff against male survivors, but the people I’ve seen do it most are men. I’m very passionate about this because I hate the thought of what happened to me happening to someone else. Some people grow up thinking everything is someone’s fault and I think a lot of people tend to blame the victim because they’re the only one coming out with a story. I just hope we, women, men, and nb can help more people to understand and have sympathy for ALL victims.

In any other country they couldve just called the parents and figured it out, without directly asking. Someone suggested that theyd write the list as Boys:, Girls: and Nibirus:.. Im sure the situation found its solution in the end, but not until it had amused and made thousands think about this poor educators predicament. People learning our crazy goblin language also appreciates this particular easement, theres plenty more still making it difficult. And I, after watching how crazy some Americans went over pronouns, started to definitely appreciate our little quirks way more. Parents fill and sign official papers for their children, here up until we turn 18 for most cases, but in some cases when it's not strict earlier is fine too. So when I turned 18 and hadn't needed to fill a single official paper with all kind of information before, she complained about me asking her to specify what I need to fill in to some spots and literally went "Don't they teach this at school?" Basic stuff like how to sweep or do laundry is taken for granted, until those kids grow up and figure out "Hey, I'm helpless" and they seek tutorials or videos to help them learn. Unfortunately, that's not always helpful because it's not really personal. Yes, it will help with some understanding of whatever you need help with, but actually teaching to where it'll actually be useful won't come until there's been a lot of trial and error.
