MONDAY MOTIVATIONAL MENU IDEA/ OLD SCHOOL SMOTHERED SKILLET HAMBURGER STEAK

- OLD SCHOOL SKILLET HAMBURGER STEAK
THIS IS SO YUMMY AND FILLING
I LOVE TO EAT MINE WITH MASHED POTATOES
I MAKE MY GRAVY MORE THIN THAN MOST IN THIS DISH. BUT U CAN MAKE YOURS THICKER
RECIPE
1 pound ground beef
1/3 cup Worcestershire sauce
1 egg
1/3 cup bread crumbs
1/3 cup chopped onions
Salt and pepper
For the sauce
1 cup sliced onions
1 cup sliced mushrooms(optional)
1 tablespoons ketchup
1 tablespoons yellow mustard
1 cup beef stock or water
1/3 cup Worcestershire sauce
Mix all meat and ingredients and form into oval patties ( makes 4 patties )
Brown off in skillet on both sides
Remove from skillet and place in baking pan
Add mushrooms(optional) and onions to skillet with oil and cook until soft
Add remaining ingredients and cook for 5 minutes
Slightly thicken with roux ( if u desire a thick sauce )
Add meat patties back to skillet and cook uncovered simmering for 20 minutes
ENJOY WITH MASHED POTATOES

I was raised on this supper and also served it to my family but I add Kitchen Bouquet to my gravy rather than Lee&Perrins. God bless you in your retirement and may you enjoy many years of it!

Chef you don't know how many times I have been eating hot over mixing my peas in my mashed potatoes that's the way I grew up eating it and mixed my grits and my eggs together and bacon so I'm glad to see you doing the same thing and thank you for the great tip on the gravy
