    Congratulations on the new addition! Looks like fun 🙌🏼
    I’d love to try an inflatable kayak one day

      Thanks, always fun to learn new things. It’s like hard vs inflatable sup, better performance on hard but inflatable have a lot of other benefits like durability and weight and packing.

      @@danerik.westerlind Fully agreed! I'm excited to get back in a kayak later again this summer.
      Totally makes sense on hard vs inflatable!

    You got yourself a new toy 🙂 When I was 8 years old, I had a go in a canoe. Put it this way, I was out of it more than I was sat in it 🙂

    So happy you enjoyed the kayak. It's good to have different toys to use and mix things up. Has Erika tried the kayak yet? Happy Paddling!

      Yes I love it more and more and Erika have tried, she seems to like it too. But she will not say it to loudly so I buy one for her. She thinks we can have this one now and buy another kayak next year, that is a very long time ahead!😱

    So nice to hear the perspective of a new paddler on this kayak. You look very confident on it! Mine is on the way and hope to unbox/try it out very soon. A little concerned about the stability... or lack thereof.. but you make it look easy. Subscribed.

      Thanks, really appreciate your kindness! I have not tested many kayaks in my life but I will find it very stable. Maybe primary stability will fool you in beginning, but primary stability just feel tippy until you get used to it.(it's the samt with paddle boards)
      It's primary stability that flip the kayak around and I think x500 have really good secondary stability! I really hope your first trip will be a blast and a fun time!!!🤗

      That's good to hear. I once tried the sea eagle razorlite two person kayak solo so I think I know what you mean. It also has the "v" shaped hull albeit a bit wider than x 500. This will be my first time using a sit inside, but it looks quite easy to get in and out of.. and I think my sunburned legs will appreciate being covered ;-)

    Nice! For the seat/bladder problem, I've applied strips of window insulation to the bladder (not the seat) to keep them apart. Wish I'd done that before the holes appeared. My old repairs have failed (hard glue, cracked when the boat was folded), but no new holes have appeared.
    I wonder whether you'd be less wet if you moved the drip rings out, closer to the paddle blades?

    • @danerik.westerlind
      @danerik.westerlind  Рік тому

      Thanks! There did the holes appeared for you on the pad, really high up? Good tip with the window insulation strip. What is the bladder, inflated pad?
      A new paddle is on the way. Is not from the shaft, water splashes when I paddle, it have become better now when I paddle more, but not as good as when I paddle with Patrik in Stockholm.

    • @6yjjk
      @6yjjk Рік тому +1

      @@danerik.westerlindYes, the inflated part behind the seat. I have some holes high up but also lower down, all roughly in the middle. It's a really silly design, but the window insulation seems to help.

    • @danerik.westerlind
      @danerik.westerlind  Рік тому

      @@6yjjk thanks, now I’m with you! I will do a similar solution but I think I will have it on the seat.

    • @6yjjk
      @6yjjk Рік тому +1

      @@danerik.westerlind I thought about putting it on the seat, too. But if some sand or dirt gets between that and the pad, it could still rub through the pad. If you put it on the pad instead, then the dirt/sand gets rubbed into the seat and does no harm. That was my logic, anyway.
