this whole fight looks like a WW1 trench brawl with every soldier dazed by artillery fire. Nobody knows whats happening, they are just shooting eachother senslessly and there is a lot of death and that one lucky private that just survived the shitstorm of artillery and gunfire by virtue of not getting shot or blown up while charging to said trench
Y'know, to top it all off at the end as well, Daygoon gets ONE Citadel at the end, when the Midway has 25hp left. A citadel that only took 515 shell impacts before it to actually happen.
It's like ammo racking a tank in WoT with 1hp left.

This actually illustrates a fundamental principle of battle-- the side that makes the fewest mistakes generally wins. Daygoon screwed up, but in the environment of this particular battle his errors were overmatched by the enemy's even more colossal boners. May we all be this lucky, at least occasionally.

As far as principles of battle, it's right up there with, "No battle plan ever survives contact with the enemy." And of course Murphy's Law, "If something can go wrong, it will." I think we may have seen all three here.

You know this was Daygoon's damage record, and he was super excited to send this to Jingles only to get ROASTED for basically 20 minutes about how many times he should have died.
I'm pretty sure he's enjoying it :)
For good reasons :-) Drives out of his smoke screen two times (three times if you count the final smoke just at the end of the game); announces a rush to everybody on enemy team via in-game chat; pulls a Notser.
On the other hand he did a lot of good things, too. But he really should have died much earlier in this battle.
If you look up at the pinned message, Daygoon readily acknowledges he deserves every moment of it.

It's a game of words. Jingles said he didn't take the right turn meaning right opposite wrong. The right turn was left turn as you wrote. You can read right as left-right side or right as right-wrong turn/move. And we all know what means The wrong turn ;).
@@jurijsoklic5026 Not sure, but you might be giving Jingles too much credit there, its much more plausible that he fucked up the directions :D. Some minutes later Jingles talks about Daygoon reversing back into his smokescreen again when Daygoon reversed _out_ of the smokescreen and at the moment jingles is saying that is flooring it to moved _forward_ back into the smoke.
Jingles said, "could have taken right turn instead of a left turn" so clearly got it wrong.

Hartschteiler GER I feel like you might be right. I lost 10 out of 12 games yesterday while trying to get credits in JB and Georgia. Naturally my aim went to shit. Now normally I average around 120k on each, but yesterday was a test of willpower. Constant team lemmings and constant curb stomps while my aim was shit and I couldn’t really hit much reliably. Needless to say I took a break and came back and played one game in each. Both games I did less than 15k and was focused at the start to where my options were to chance getting citadeled and turn away or get torpedo by a DD that slipped right past our DDs and Cruisers. I took the chance and naturally got citadeled. I’ve never rate quit WOWS until the most brutal day I’ve ever had on it happened.
There are now seemingly endless hordes of terrible players cluttering up WoWs. So many terrible teams. I can only play a few games then I lose interest.

16:09 The carrier's fighters were set spot on. They were not shot down by AA or by CAP but instead they shot down the enemy rocket planes and thus expired afterwards. Game mechanics, Jingles. This is how it works nowadays. One fighter plane will shoot down the maximum of one enemy plane and then retire.

Hey Jingles, I bet the Salem though that "rush the gearing salem?" was a direction/question instead of a question needing confirmation. He'd make a good grunt. Rush around the corner and shoot the destroyer? Got it boss.
The Salem in the beginning when he saw the message from Daygoon was like: “Well, I’m not waste time typing in a response. I’m gonna go on in. He’ll get the message!”

Does have as crap situational awareness as me. Like I mean, I’m a great dogfighter in warthunder, but my aim as well as my situational awareness is freaking god awful.
Yeah, those waterline over pens have been happening a lot lately. Getting old tbh. Cruiser messes up like that in front of top tier BB, it shouldn't be down to a dice roll if they get away with it.
Credit where its due though, what he lacked in situational awareness and Peppa smoking when ever he could he made up for in target selection and determination to get the damage in.

It's so bad I straight up shoot HE on those unless I can reliably assure my shells hit water before going into citadel. Fun fact is... you'll get plenty of HE citadels. Then again I've been mostly grinding to Conqueror recently so there's that sweet RN HE.

It almost feels like some days on random battles people just bleed IQ or something. However this kind of dumb luck is amazing.
Some skill, some random luck and a lot of incompetence on the enemy team I would say.
Of course getting that many cross eyed gunners and people with even less situational awareness on the other team is lucky to begin with.

To win, you only need to outwit your opponents. Sometimes that is very easy.

It reminded me of the scene from the musical 1776 when Thomas Jefferson appears right after the song “He Plays the Violin” to reclaim his wife from Adams and Franklin. This is exactly why I love my mino. She's a high risk high reward gameplay style. I've had a lot of matches like this where I should of died but didn't. Also when we FINALLY get our jingles captain I'm putting him in my mino for the troll's
10:20 for the next 30 - 40 seconds - What an absolutely fearsome amount of fire power! I just can't imagine, if that were for real, what that must of been like being on the recieving end of that! It must of been hell on earth for any poor crews in a situation like that.

Now Jingles, give that poor Conqueror some credit! He might have eaten all those torpedoes, but was he sitting in the back spamming HE while his team was butchered? NO! No, he charged forth, guns blazing, and died as a battleship should!
6:14 - When Daygoon asks the Salem whether they should rush the Gearing, he does so in public chat - not team chat. Perhaps the reason the Salem didn't respond was that he didn't really want to broadcast to the enemy team what he/they were planning.

Greetings from a Serbian fan from Russia. I usually don't watch WoWS but sometimes I just like listening to your voice. I would like to point to a "mistake" most non Slavic speakers have with pronunciation of Slavic words. In Russian, where they use transliteration of letter Х is written as Kh, so many people think you should pronunce it as Kh but the thing is it should be as H as is "Hello", "Him" and so on... Well, I used my 5 minute break, back to the salt mines!
Well, this one rubbed my ego. No, no pun intended, I truly feel like I'm not that bad of a gamer after seeing this...

this guy is in what i call "aim denial".... pumps out 200.000 shells at a target and 20 of them hit...
It always seemed he was a little behind on his gunnery and never really adjusted.
He asked if he wants to rush the guy in game chat, not friendly chat. He let the enemy know they were planning it, which is probably why he didn’t respond

As a terrible player that has managed to bungle his way to Tier 10 of the Japanese battleship tree, I must say that this gives me hope of one day meeting Montana and even the Ohio one day.
Daygoon, gg man. You can work on your aim a little and and staying inside your smoke, its good to keep moving inside the puffs, but your staying inside the binocular view too much and loosing track of the boarders of the smoke, if you hold right click it will enable free look and keep your point of aim on what ever you are shooting at, you just need to use it for a second every five or so seconds. To stave off the tunnel vision. And the aim part, just aim a bit lower on DDs CLs CAs and CVs, you could have finished that Midway much faster if you had been aiming at the water line rather than halfway from the water to the carrier deck, as you would have landed many many citadels. Your positioning was awesome though!! Thats something only a mino could do, and you did it well (except for sailing outa your smoke so much).

That actually was skill. It was someone who understood at least an appreciable amount of mechanics of the game. Were I to enter in to WoWS, now, after three years off, I'd be making the mistakes that he would have been aware of.

It can carry you pretty far :P I just reached Rank 1 in this season of ranked battles. My last battle, I was in a Cleveland, went alone to one of the cap zones in the hopes of intercepting the enemy DD... I found the ENTIRE enemy team (including 2 Vladivostoks, a Tirpitz, a Bismarck, Hipper, Edinburgh and Ognevoi).... it took them 6 minutes to kill me, while I was running away and re setting their cap progress and setting them on fire.... In the meantime, my team (who went to the completely opposite way) managed to cap the other 2 zones and come back to help me. I did die doing only 78.000 damage, but I got 29 defended ribbons and set 19 fires... but I still got over 2100 base exp and was first on my team :P Just because they enemy team either missed, or bounced or overpenetrated with most of their shots :P

kinda sounds like the time i took my tirpitz told my team i was going to push a cap point that had 2 american BB's a north carolina and a alabama. Made the push looked around and yup entire friendly team has turned around and ran the other way after saying they were going push with me. before making it to the BB's i took out 1 french cruiser and and american with mains while i was switching my secondaries between the 2 american BB's. Then sail directly between the 2 bb's dropped torpedoes from both sides sinking both of them within 5 seconds of each other. Then a DD pops up and i smoked him with mains (he was only 6km's away) before finally succombing 2 fire damage from the 2 cruisers and secondaries of the american BB's. Im like yep i died like thanks team! and you wonder why you see german BB's sniping. Still took out 5 ships within like 30 seconds of each other. Not bad for a push turned yolo run.
