@@MikelusThorne Didn't matter. His team was so far ahead on points he was going to win on score when time ran out. Unless he did something stupid and got himself killed, which is what happened. Bball's team had no hope of winning by anything but a kill-all at that point.

I heartily agree. I make virtually no money in bottom tier games since I prioritize being a teamplayer over farming damage as a CV.
@@Cloudman572 and that is pretty much the dumb comment of this thread. We just saw the other CV get its ass kicked cause he didnt play smart. There is no such thing as zero risk, low risk if your smart? I will give you but zero? Stop being jelly and learn how to play.
@@Cloudman572 Having played CVs from 8-10 its actually not as simple as that for a tier 8 CV in a tier 10 match. Alot of it for CV positioning involves being able to predict how/when flanks fall and how to get your planes up faster, which takes practice more than anything. As for 0 Risk yes to themselves however considering how deadly tier 10 AA suites are its very easy to deplane yourself ESP when most of these AA cruisers have Air spotting close to or exactly at their AA gun range.
The CV AA thing only applies at tier 8-10 and even then its mostly dependent on your ability to both handle fighter management (Fighters only kill up to the total fighters in the squadron, IE 3 fighters = 3 plane shoot downs max) as well as predicting where you are going to be struck from/controlling your high passive DPS AA. and even then your not always safe IE Haku can stealth torp you at tier 10, midway has shitloads of plane HP. its DEF harder to keep it up and you will have quite the losses but CV sniping isnt really optimal anyway since that CV can be more controlled by what allies you kill (IE he's going to have a hard time if you can keep your AA ships alive)
Isn't spotting counted into the XP? Because when I had a game with 15k damage and 230k spotting I ended up first on XP.
@@hansheden no. you can get spotting ribbons that do count but the dmg you spot does not covert to exp or credits. all I can think is maybe you got a crap ton of spotting ribbons

yea, that guy used his tools to the best of his ability and it paid off
@@shinkicker404 Based on the XP earned he did a fair chunk of damage too, a thing to remember, the British have the most durable planes of the tech tree CVs and Implacable's planes even have more HP than the German/Japanese/American T10s if just has fewer of them, and this Implacable was going after lone targets T9/10 AA is only really scary when overlapped. Of all the T8 CVs in game Implacable is the best for facing a full bottom tier, and is also even better at a max top tier. That's not to say it can play stupid, if it throws away it's planes it will likely not get them all back before the end of the battle, the British have the longest plane replenishment time close to 2 minutes for a single "dive" bomber, and as mentioned the smallest reserves as well.
I'm going to guess based on his place on the team that he likely got between 80k-100k damage dealt. As from what I remember spotting damage actually doesn't pay you anything, just getting spotting ribbons.

how i hate being in my mino when there is a battle ship spotting two battleships pushing i instantly smoke up with a big smile knowing all the battleship has to do is go bow in and tank... then the battle ship counts and sees his out numbered turns around takes two broad side volley's and either dies or runs for the hils. Now that smile of mine is on the two pushing captains because at this time when i run i will be spotted.
Tier VIII hand vs. Tier X kitten. There's really only one way that can end.

I was the Implacable player and by the start of this video when jingles say "one Carrier is going to play poorly" i was "oh shit".

The crazy dispersion from that yamato's turret is actually the secondary triple-gun-turret mounted behind the two main battery gun turrets.
Its still 3 shots from one turret landing on different countries, but only secondaries at least :D
Too much sake on the gun crew in that turret, it seems.

At 2:15 when Jingles tells us to get some popcorn and a nice drink, I’m just sitting there looking at my soda and my bag of kettle corn thinking I have pleased my overlord.
if that Freddy went north around the island he might even have spotted that Implacable, while being able to try and at least contest C in relative safety.
Lexington took the decision to move through the mini map, before sending airplanes to do an attack, while totally focused on the plane attack, the autopilot was running while he was under fire, but since he is totally focused on the planned plane attack, ignored the alarms of the carrier detection new sign to the left of the screen and realize the mistake until it was too late.
If he was thinking about his mini map he would have moved to the side where his team was pushing, following them so he would have been safe the entire match. Instead he got it in his head he wanted to push where his team was getting pushed back, and where he had already seen a Minotaur....

In World of Tanks they need to change the Artillery role to be more like a carrier. People actually appreciate carriers.

Do you play Minotaur much? He did more than 10k damage to the yamato. He'd be lucky to hit a single shell on the Tashkent.
I play Minos. In the 30 seconds he had good shots on the Tash, he should have been EASILY able to land a dozen or more shots, doing 50%+ of it's HP. Which, even if it didn't kill it, would have SEVERELY crippled it's utility.
Instead, he did.... 9% damage on a ship that didnt care one whit about that loss of HP.
Shooting the Yamato was a BIG tactical mistake. Damage farming is exactly that - doing little use to wrack up your score.
That implacable aircraft carrier player did an amazing job hope he is proud of what he did

@@joshwatson8539 he's teaching you the difference in meaning and thus usage of "grate" and "great". "Grate" refers to an action typically done to cheese where a solid chunk of cheese is grinded against a particular tool to shave them into tiny pieces. "Great" refers to good.

yes but here is the thing that BB players rarely get, light cruisers is only affective if the battle ships are tanking on there own they are xtreamly vulnerable and in high tier games there are way to few BB's that support their cruisers ( mainly X ), i actualy enjoyed my neptune more than my mino (even thou my mino stats are way higher).
Agreed Jingles, the Implacable deserved better than Number 4 placement. He was a real TEAM player in this match. Bravo Zulu HakenXD!

Jingles, at 4:39, those were the triple 155mm HE secondaries from the from the forward secondaries turret. They look like main battery shells because they kinda are, only that of light cruiser Mogami.
The Lexington was hiding behind the island, being close to the action to reduce the down time of fighters and increasing his DPS. The Chung mu approached so he tried to get out of there. Sadly he did so by showing himself to BBall in the minotaur. But he probably thought to rather take his chances against a cruisers gun than a destroyers torpedoes... if he didn't just panic and just missed that BBall is there.

He probably got confused by the red tracers. I myself often forget that Yamamoto’s effect applies to all guns, not just the main batteries

Yeah, I found a long time ago tier ten does not mean smarter than you. You don't pass up killing a DD unless you are just a damage hound and don't worry about helping the team win.
It's funny you put up a Minotaur replay, when Gajin announced just last week that they're putting HMS Tiger into War Thunder. AKA THE SHIP THAT MINOTAUR STOLE ITS GUNS FROM.

Awww... that kitty looks very similar to the one I had growing up. At the time, as were many other young boys of my generation, I was quite a fan of the show He-Man - and when I got the kitteh, she was quite scared of: well... everything. I named her Cringer, with the misguided idea that when she grew up, she would no longer be a scaredy cat and would grow into Battle Cat. Boy, was I ever wrong in that regard.

The only way the Frederick could've won was by killing bball before he took B, then wait it out (because who expects a CV that close to a German BB?)

That may be the case or it may not be the case. It's the Internet, all Chiffre and nickname and shortcut and godknowswhat. In terms of ignorance, I would propose doublechecking any possible meanings of my nicknames before I use them. You seem to play on the NA server (found you by now, I thought a player search would cover all servers at once), in a probably english/spanish-only environment where indeed a multitude of similar nicknames exist. But still, on the EU server this is not the case and for that very good reason I stated. So sorry for maybe overreacting on that one.

Around the 7 mins, I assumed that the minotaur switched to the Yamato after seeing that most of his team had shots a probably thought, they can have the scraps.

I feel BBall was frequently shooting at the wrong target... that buffalo was right in front of him and he was shooting at the alsace. @ 15:00 mark he leaves his smoke...fails lets the iowa die when he could have stayed in it and kept widdling down the yamato..plus he didn't shoot the edinburg. He leaves his smoke..and the waits until he can kill steal the yammy from the iowa after the Iowa dies
for some reason, I PREFER being uptiered in t8 CVs. I really like scouting in them and since im lowest tier, i'm not attacking as much, therefore, i am spotting for longer. I've had multiple games in HMS Implacable(that i have only had for a day and love to death) where i'm uptiered, yet i still do very well and am complimented(Heresy i say!) by my team for my spotting.
I NEED INTELLIGENCE DATA! Seriously, when you are uptiered, SPOT. just keep your attack planes up and be ready to pounce on the odd DD that gets bold. keep everything you can spotted so your teams guns keep firing.

Jingles.. a quick tip. Don't let the kitten play with your hand and bite/scratch. If it does then put her down and do something else and pay no attention to her. Believe me it pays off when the cat grows up and is not used to scratching your hands although it just seems like a game to her. You can teach a cat to behave and play nicely it just takes more patience.

I think whenever a French ship uses speed boost a white flag should be deployed.
Make it a special signal flag exclusive to French ships: “Boosts engine power and top speed by 100% while in reverse.”
romor says the speed boost has been a bug. They are patching it in the next major version so it only works backwards as intended.
There is a flag just look closely it is hidden by all the smoke from the stacs.

The Lexington at 8:50 ish probably wasn't a deliberate decision. The carrier autopilot is soooo bad since the update that he probably told his cv to park behind an island at the back of the map, and the navigator decided it would instead do the exact opposite, and the player was so desperate to get more planes in the air that he didn't notice. Not saying it was the mark of a skilled player, but not as dumb as it may look either

there MAY be an explanation for the Lexington position there is STILL an bug where after setting course ina cv they waypoint marker randomly switches to the middle of the map and your ship maneuvers there.... he may have realised it too late and was trying to save him but well didnt work

I would have gone for the Yamato aswell. It's a much bigger threat to a Mino than a single Tashkent, especially with a cv and several cruisers with radar
S, you'd chose to shoot a ship that's not an immediate threat, and one which you can't really harm, over a ship which you can either kill or cripple, and doing so removes a key *irreplaceable* player from the other side.
Boy, I hope I get to play against you regularly.
Uh just a word of warning Jingles you might want to pick up all of your "Action Figures"/Models when you bring Akatsuki into your man-cave.

The problem isn't the t8 cvs can't do anything in a t10 match, it's that they're forced to do have these difficult uphill battles 8 out of 10 games they get into.

I actually did way more damage in Lexington regularly than I do in Midway. T10 AA is absolutely unbalanced
what can i say but lol. I average 60% higher on damage in my Midway than any other ship i have. I altso have 25% more winrate in the Midway than my normal winrate. But yea sure t10 AA is broken... And i have about total of 100 cv games in total under my belt, so i guess im pretty nub at it.

@@SuperLusername According to statistics i am abit over average. Average damage on ships, 81000. Average damage on Midway 144k. My first game was a 190k game, with 300k spotting.
So try again.

And as i watch other peoples stats, they have alot better stats in their midway than everything else too. Except those shitheads with 35% winrate on everything. I have altso seen a 8k average damage midway, but he was a bot.
14:30 that is the secondary turret. Nothing special about the dispersion, if it targets something at 7km range, some shots may land in the water 2km from your ship.

Nope. Fiji is miles better as a DD.
He started shooting the Yamato instead of the Tashkent because he wanted to farm damage. He didn't care about the value of the target beyond how much XP he could gain.
Funny thing about that is that he'd have gotten more XP from doing less (absolute) damage to the Tashkent.
XP is by PERCENTAGE of a ship's HP you do. Most people think it's by total number. But that's wrong - it's solely by what percent of a ship's HP did you do. Every hit on that Tashkent would be worth 5x or 6x the XP of a Yamato hit. Easily.

looks like the balti was in a fairly aggressive position and got decently punished, even beforehand, so i doubt he would have lasted any longer either way. i'd rather say he was lucky to get a deto-kill out of a 3/4-hp DD.
How many times have we all done something in a game that influenced the results to our team's favor, but it doesn't show up in the statistics, or scoreboard!
I spent a whole game in my Kiev wildly spotting torps, distracting most of the enemy team on that side and chasing away dds while the enemies were deleted by the rest of our team. One of them told me that I was doing a great job, but I ended up 5th on the leader board.

Minotaur shots as soon as 10k arrives, take about 60 years to arrive, and i find that shooting at a russian dd when its that speed, is a bit of waste. If he had been closer, yeah sure, but in addition to this the way the shots disperse, as well as the, lets be generous, questionable penetration characteristics, make russian dds a pain in the ass for minotaurs
On a Tashkent? Mino's shells pen JUST fine from practically all directions, particularly at that range, where everything plunges and avoids most of the hull bounces because it's coming down through the deck. It's only a Khab that's a problem.
And the Tash was GROUNDED, and not moving very fast for 15+ seconds. Any even moderately decent player should easily have been able to land a dozen or more shots on that DD. I play Minos all the time, and that's an EASY choice to make.
Instead, he farmed completely useless damage on a Yamato.
