- Building a house in Ghana is definitely not easy. In this video i speak to Philip & Leila about their experiances of building a house in Ghana and also building apartments in Ghana. They have started a real estate buisness called Pam V Estates in which they have build 2x apartment blocks and 1x townhouse to rent out. We find out the challenges they face from Buying land in ghana to permits to working with the laborers to racism and sexism in Ghana. I also show you around a 2 bedroom apartment within Pam V estates which is just beautiful! We also discuss moving back from the diaspora to start a new life and business in Accra.

Perfect business advisory.
Africans in the diaspora should invest in their home countries.
We do. Since year 2000 my family have built 4 houses in different cities in my homeland Somalia. My extended family even more. We all do who do you think are building these beautiful homes & businesses all over Africa cause it certainly ain't our corrupt governments lol
@@Bountylicious houses or aparment? You build to rent?
@@Bountylicious Politicians can only redistribute stuff; they dont create Value. Value is created by entrepeneurs.

Nice to see windows without bars.
@willie mason agree...
Probably have a gate and wall around the property.
@willie mason I am planning to move to Africa, so saying it is nice to see windows without bars is not a insult to Africa. It is good to know that I can build my home there without the bars. I wasn't even thinking about the bars as a means of burgular prevention. I don't like bars because I know of several folks that lost their lives in fires because they were trapped behind those bars. Just an aside, not every home in America has a alarm.
@@SunkissFlower not every house has alarm like mine, cause I'm more of a poorer class, dont cash for that shit
@willie mason 😊 Thank you.
I will.never send money for my house to be built in Ghana ..I will be on the ground with a real construction company and monitor it 24/7 ..If you know what I meant thumbs up ..
Its all about getting a trustee and dedicated ones.
You need better family members. My brother in law built my house and sent me pics and videos all the way through. I just came back from Ghana and saw what an awesome job they did.
@@johnashland3049 the problem is not even family but the workers ..Ghana is a survival of the fittest kind of country ..People steal dupe others just to survive ..it is now a cultural thing ..
You should bless this brother-in-law. People like him are rare!!! Still recovering from my experience.
I agree. I will have to be there every step of the way to observe everything and make my own decisions should the question of flexibilities, alterations, etc arises.
Well done guys for coming this far and showing others the way.

Ghana has professional builders, however, I believe you guys went for the local everyday builders, very cheap and can be thought how to do things the way you want it. Well done, I wish you guys the best in any future projects.
The money must go around but the locals need new tools to get things done faster and to be taught how to get the word done better if we want it to look like Europe then we out side has to do this there is no need for the Chinese the Indians or the Arabs because all they come to do is to suck they don't inturn invest back the money in Afrika we cannot continue to cry of what the Chinese are doing
@@kojomensah7474 Why do you want it to look like europe?
@@Tu51ndBl4d3 the majority of our people will go down to hell to get to Europe because they thing it is better they have light toilet to flush public transport majority of the roads are good, but it is them that let afrika be the way that it is if they make a decision to stop doing anything then the pupets of the west must go but as always you can buy the majority of the blacks where ever we are it dose not matter what lable u are under, mean what ever name the pinks/Europeans has given to u,there will always be the one's that you can buy for 30 pieces of silver, and everybody knows this the Chinese the Indians the pale face Arabs and the Europeans

There needs to be houses for the poor built to a good standared not just for those who can afford it the ordinary workers need new tools there needs to be work for the wemen in the construction industry not just sowing and cooking
ntoa toa - WHY DONT YOU DO IT
It all depends on the poor if they are ready to help me to help themselves if they pool their money together and stop giving it to the churches then they can have a proper home

Hi, my name is Max, presently live in Toronto, Canada, is there any possibility of acquiring the blue prints of those buildings? .. No need to reinvent the wheel, I love what THEY have done, would love to repeat that in Liberia..
Any way possible?
I look at what this couple has achieved and i am really proud of them, doing business in Africa is not for the faint hearted, the returns may be good but it takes patience, all the things the couples mentioned are faced by people all over the continent, in Kenya my worst incidences are when someone working on your project asks for some days to attend a funeral and when i say days it can range from two days to even weeks, people especially in the rural areas have not understood the concept of time lost shall never be recovered.
That's the nature of we Africans we don't respect time almost all of us living in oversees met with the same problem sometimes the workers takes double jobs else where and be lying to you that they have funeral so that so can't say anything
I'm also building a house in Ghana.
Amazing!
Good
Awesome. Could you put me in touch with your building team please. iamderishafree @ gmail

The Mr. is saying I I I and the lady is saying we we we. That said, the conversation is very informative and fun!
That is AFRICA man for you, they always want to take proud in every thing.
@Sweet Bado yes, they take over at the END.
As African man...he mostly earned the cash or loan or whatever they used for the entire project ...while the wife maybe play a huge roll at home raising the kids...
@Vitalis Yangme no doubt...it has been a narrative which still carrys on today..I dont know them in any way..I wasn't insinuating her role was limited to raising kids.was simply trying to guess what might be his reason of saying it the way he did.
it was only the man's project from the beginning, don't be fooled by what you see on social media, this lady only came in the picture 4 years ago after she ruined the man's family in the uk
This is a really herculean task especially if you are based abroad. I applaud this couple for their achievement. I have been trying for over 6 years to do same in Nigeria with lots of heartache. Everyone want to rip you off. Too many liars (including family). I have abandoned the project for now - for my blood pressure sake.

This video is so awesome!
What is the COST of BUILDING a house SIMILAR to the ones in the video, and what is the COST of BUYING one already built??
Exactly the same issues I face building in Kenya. You have to be there during construction or otherwise you will pay a heavy price, literally.
Good job guys, nice apartment, my concern is with the roof style, I've seen such houses in Ghana looking water-soaked at the top because with time they develop complications coping with rains, and the paints start to peel off. I'd be glad to know what technology was used in this instance. If you've noticed, a lot of houses go for the safer option of an all-out sloping roof style since it has very minimal complications.
Well done for researching and going forward with your investment. These are very interesting times for Ghana.

Thanks very much :)
@VanessaKanbi I loved this information it was very inspirational for those of us with the same desires of repatriating and build in Ghana. However, lets be clear...you may have experienced some prejudice in Ghana but NOT RACISM. Please learn the difference... Africans can be prejudice against one another because of the tribal nature of our people but never RACIST that word is reserved for white ppl only sorry. No African will ever murder, rape, or enslave you for the color of your skin...if anything you might get more white privileges being fair skinned.
Vanessa is such a great listener and interviewer! Subscribed.
Love their vibe . Young African pioneers. Love what Leila said about her children needing to know their culture.
Beautiful!
If it’s good for people abroad it should be good for locals, that’s the mindset that keep Africa from developing let’s build small pockets of stuff catering to people from miles away, I notice that a lot the black men and skill sharing don’t go together this same mindset transfer to so call leaders...if something is good for you try to mass produce for the masses ( sorry for the rant)
Exactly. It has to stay in African hands, not mixed peoples hands, chinese, white etc. If the money doesn't stay in your circle it's not yours. You can't do that shit in China; they make sure property goes to their people first before anyone else. And if you want full rights, you have to have children with Chinese blood.
Maybe we can start a directory if there isn't one already? Everyone who has gone through the building process etc can recommend the best people they have experienced.
Good idea

Hey there. Nice and importanta piece of advice. Build in stages and be there to follow up
Definitely build . Do not buy
Prices of housing In Ghana us ridiculously expensive
How much of a difference are we looking at for a a basic 3 bedroom?
@@lydian5762 in a good location for one of them tiny estate houses , you should be looking around quarter of a million dollars or just a little less. Mind you
In a very good location
La Féte , I say if you can afford to buy, then please do so because there are so many advantages to that.
For starters, it's a stress free way of owning a home. You also instantly become a member of a community of like- minded people.
You have roads, streetlights, water reservoir and other vital amenities already taken care of and tend to suffer far less from electricity outages.
The other thing also is you get your home built in a much shorter time.
Some people might argue that when you buy from developers, you don't get much say in the design . I will disagree with that because depending on who you buy from , you can make changes to suit you.
@@abalartey4664 very good point too. Well noted

Time is money, it’s fine until it starts to cost your pocket, if you make an agreement you should keep it, that is good business acumen anywhere in the world that those who are successful in business understand 🥳🥳🥳
not a healthy attitude serious investors will put up with, especially if I'm returning to build a hospital and improve sanitation and Ghanian public health. 1 in 7 establishments have running toilet in Ghana, a vacation attitude doesn't work. It will costs lives.
