I don't know if it's just me, but the KVA system (Korean Vocal Analysis or Vocal Tiers) is generally a bad way to categorize singers only by their supported range. There is so much more nuance that comes into vocal technique such as breathing, support, projection, tone, and interpretation. From what I've seen (and I've seen a lot) the supported range of a singer is based off of that diaphraghmic sound that comes out of them, disregarding the balance mixed that most kpop idols tend to use and is later categorized by these "vocal analysts" as unsupported, tensioned, or even strained. The current trend of "resonated, supported, strained" inside the kpop community ruins kpop a bit, as I've seen idols getting called a terrible singer for straining one note during the whole performance. Vocal Tiers discredit the talent that idols genuinely possess.
honestly, this is why it is confusing for me. There are various techniques of singing certain tones- many different ways to get to it. I have seen a really amazing singer using more pop rock system of higher tones - masked singing, with frontal resonance and a bit of texture (like Chester from Linkin Park and Taka from One Ok Rock). He was classified as straining and unsupported every time. I was CONFUSED. Like every time I think I get it dont? But your explanation helped a lot, cause now I understand that it is only based on a very specific singing technique that is in trend (correct? ) Thank you so much! I love to discuss with people, cause it helps tons for many to understand better!
@@Katriinka Yes! The trend of the KVA (Kpop Vocal Analysis) is mainly biased from what I've seen. It is based solely on Vocal Technique as they claim. Thus, if it doesn't sound pleasant to their ears, it's categorized as "pushy" "tense" or "strained". The prime example of this when I was let down the most was when I saw a vocal analysis for DIMASH using this system, with the video classifying him as a C TIER AVERAGE SINGER as they claimed his G#4's and above are pushy and that his mix is strained and tensed, and that his technique is decent at best. It saddens me that people rely on these vocal tiers, because some of the videos are actually quite unhinged and often inaccurate.
@@CL-uu7hi I know so many singers who would be completely bashed in that system like LiSA or (omg so many other japanese singers, cause of the japanese style of singing?! Now I just realized it). While those singers are INCREDIBLE. Their technique is HARD. Thanks for replying and chatting, it is making more sense now.
As long as healthy technique, it is OK. As a singer, they should have at least more than one style singing technique. Listen many genre of music to develop the preferences, because habit create the taste. So if you only listen Kpop, if other singers use different vocal technique that kpop idols use, you think it is bad technique because of your taste.
Thanks for the IVE reaction! You're right those high tones really seem difficult to pull off but they did splendidly and must have really really practised a lot! All of IVE do and yeah I think their team is doing a great job in showcasing everyone's unique points etc! On a completely unrelated note, I have a suggestion/request for you! It's actually a JPop request and it's someone you reacted once on your channel before! Do you remember Suzuki Airi? You reacted to The First Take Video where she was 2nd voice to Suzuki Masayuki in DADDY DADDY DO. Quite recently she did a full song cover to Yoasobi's IDOL! If you look up Suzuki Airi Idol or 鈴木愛理 アイドル, you should be able to find the official cover video uploaded on UA-cam! She performed it on a TV show using a fully karaoke version but she added her own background vocals and harmonies etc! She was formerly in an idol group herself, but now she has a solo singing career. She really gave her heart in interpreting that song in her own way and gave a jaw-dropping performance that even had Yoasobi commenting on it on Twitter and thanking her for giving a new life/expression to the song. Please check it out/react to it! I think you'll enjoy it!!

I agree on the fire part… its sounds more vibrants and refreshing if they sing it together… and gurl, youre not the only one who wants Yujin and Liz duet… ME TOO ❤❤❤❤
I used to take critical vocal lessons because of my college a cappella ensemble ... I made the mistake of bringing up what you mentioned here in the IVE videos and those fans went into a rage and called me a hater and were quite brutal.... If the average mass took voice lessons themselves they would know exactly what is being said here.... Popular music is about being easily memorable catchy, pandering and tickling the ears like a jingle... That being said, most of the public also doesn't know when it comes to MV, it is heavily mixed and produced ... Even in major concerts there are back tracks being mixed into their live voice feed as well as vocal effects being applied .... Then that's when fans start to question some of these Pop artist why they sound so different from their albums when they sing without any accompaniment, raw direct mic feec to amp feed ... Regardless I appreciate the concept of Pop music
I think they are getting some cause I see some consistency in certain embelishments here and there. But definitely more focused training, not just stylistic would be great :)

The one girl that keeps grabbing your attention is Liz; she's absolutely amazing and really stood out to me since their debut cause there's so much power and conviction in her voice! With Wonyoung she may not be the best singer but I do think she's been holding herself well and does have a nice tone of voice.
Liz is my most favourite voice in the entire kpop

IVE's 'I AM' MV looks phenomenal. The song is really good. What a track !
21:36 Yep yep yep, it was easier than I thought on my first listen to this song. I recorded for three times already LOL
22:17 and this is what makes me love Liz, she has a great vocal
You should definitely react to Ive more
It would be amazing if I could do a reaction to Liz singing 'Love wins all'. I learn a lot from your analyses.
thank you for making this video! i love that you weren’t holding back on your comments and the explanations you gave were really clear and understandable. you were right about the 2 singers being strong vocalist as they’re both considered main vocalists. hope you can discover their duo vocal performances in their prom queens fancon :)
Thanks for this video, Yujin can really support and I'm glad that now I have a video to show the haters
She can’t though…it’s not hating it’s just the truth
@@user-tw1zv8ki9q did you see the video? or did you just completely ignore it?
@@Chaewonnyepansito no I saw it. She can’t support though.
@@user-tw1zv8ki9q who should i believe? to a random person or to the vocal coach?
@@Chaewonnyepansito my opinion is based on many more informed and reliable vocal coaches. Believe what you want though
yujin can support? my girl is always lowered and discredited by the vocal tier unfairly :c is so sad
I love *IVE.* I love their music. I love their concept. Their music is iconic. I love their songs/tracks. Their songs/tracks are great. Their discography is flawless. Their title tracks and B-SIDES are really good. Their MVs are top-tier. Their singing is awesome. Their dancing is amazing. Their rapping is dope.
Just vocal training is Wow....
the middle girl = An Yujin , thank you
I Love This!! ❤
Btw Rei wasn't able to promote 'I Am' Live because of her Health so some of the Other Members did her Lines!! 🥰
Liz and Yujin appreciation
IVE ! Their vocals are awesome. Their rapping is cool. Their dancing is amazing.
I'm so happy the YT algorithm showed me your reaction! Finally, someone said what I've always been thinking. I don't want a carbon copy from MV to live performance. It's those beautiful quirks and quarks that I want to hear!!! Great job. I would absolutely love to see a collab between you and さきここVoice. Could I make a recommendation? Check out &Team 😉 you will most definitely not be disappointed! Thanks again!
Please we need more IVE reactions oooo please react to Liz on Lee Mujin service!!!
I see that you were really liking Liz in this video! I think you should check out her singing a few of Aespas songs completely live! I think she sounds AMAZING and i want to see how you’ll like it and what you have to say!

Im so excited ❤
Wow! your vocal made surprising me
Superb analysis. Can you react to Liz Leemujin service (the singer you praised) and also recent IVE Either Way 360 sound bomb? Its live. Thank you
i recommend watching their performances on university festivals!
16:50 that wasn't a backing track it was Yujin
in the "I'll be far away" Liz sings the main part and Gaeul sings a different version where her voice goes down instead of up 😄
you mean in lower key ? like harmony ?
I agree on the fire part… its sounds more vibrants and refreshing if they sing it together… and gurl, youre not the only one who wants Yujin and Liz duet… ME TOO ❤❤❤❤
both of yujin ( the middle girl) and liz (the one you compliment) did a cover of taeyeon gravity!
After lisening to the comperation of their Live Performance and the Music Video I realy dont think that they deserve all the have for there Vocals
I would like to see her reacting to the girl's encore performance. They stayed there, and there is no pitch correction or backing track.
They have song name girls?? I can't find it?
16:45 it was yujin actually not the backing track 😁
IVE !!! They are awesome !!! 🤯🤯🔥🔥🔥
This 11:49 - 11:55 is actually rei's, one of ive's rappers, she was absent here because of her health condition.
Now Liz and Yujin are slaying in HEYA
Out of topic but i tried doing the 21:47. One of my neighbors knocked at my door and checked on me cause they got worried😭😭
Lmfao
Yup the middle one is the leader!
Hi you!!!
I love how you explain IVE, all of them have their own color range voice right. How about you watch my man MONSTA X, too? ☺️
Simplemente la mejor coach
7:13 its not "fire", its" Fly up"
cant wait
There are 6 people in the music video, but 5 people in the live stage.
yes, because Rei (the pink haired girl in the MV) took hiatus due health issues.
I hope ive get better vocal trainning, they have ton potentiel
I think they are getting some cause I see some consistency in certain embelishments here and there. But definitely more focused training, not just stylistic would be great :)
21:48 I tried this, and I forgot it was 3AM
My goodness your voice 😮
항상 고마워.
넘~좋았어요.👍🫰리액션이
Center : leader yujin, and liz duo vocal good
lol, you are talking about a vocal battle between our main vocalist and our main dancer? 😂
but they slay... it's just that Starship gotta let Liz sing more like wtf
gurl liz have the most lines in i am wdym
@@BP-tm6ye she had less lines in one song: Kitsch. and ever since then people keep saying "she needs more lines 😭" as if liz usually isn't in the top 2/3 when it comes to line distribution.
Please react to their either way song
idk if its just me but in the chorus u can tell that the central singer and the one katrinka loves is the only one singing, the other one just barely moves their necks and stuff, so idk if they're just adding layers or are they not singing
Should we call this analysis...KILLING THE MAGIC?

The "live" performance you used is autotuned.
The "Its Live" show pitch-corrects all their performances.
That show is heavy edited 😭
Well she reacted to nmixx, newJeans etc and many others on this show so who cares? Now
Day 1 of requesting please of doyoung nct singing live on the show hanni newjeans was on❤❤❤❤love you and I also love Liz tooo she took my attention alotttt!!
I heard both autotune and backtrack but perhaps I heard wrong.
