About Wonyoung, she became a sort of icon of a movement created by her fans and who also come to be very popular even among the non fans lately, calling "wonyoungism", consisting in taking care of yourself, taking in charge your life and globally becoming a better version of yourself with Wonyoung as an inspiration. Unfortunately there's also people who use it kinda too in the extreme, and who fall into ED, using wonyoungism to promote it. This part of the community is extremely toxic but overall it started from a good intention.

@@lunapigeonWonyoung usually get a lot of hate and she is very vocal about not caring about it lmao so Wonyoungism at its core is about caring about yourself and chasing your best version, without letting others put you down because you know who you are and that's what matters (Wonyoung's motto is something of a "you are you, I'm me". she's known for being very gentle and hardworking but people hate her just for.... being pretty and feminine).
I will never forget the hate train in 2022 she got for her body over someone who edited her body to look even thinner than she is. It was truly disgusting! Also Wonyoung won her lawsuit against a certain UA-camr over defamation! Which makes her truly iconic. She really is the perfect idol, never loosing grace and always smiling despite so much baseless hate.

I'll be the first to admit that I myself disliked her for a long time but I've come around to realize that the things that brothered me were not her fault but the product of the culture surrounding her. (Like she getting praised in Korea for being extremely skinny).
And even then, when I didn't get all the hype around her, I still thought it wasn't warrant throwing so much hate on a teenager who's just doing her job and doing it very well.
After spending time actually getting to know her, I think she's just a sweetheart and incredible strong and level-headed young woman.

Just wanted to add extra input that if you continue with another IVE reaction in the future, I suggest you FIRST look at their debut single 'Eleven'. Then you check iut their triple title track in the order they came in album even though the release order was different because it's best if you end it with either way:
'Off the Record', 'Baddie' then 'Either Way'
Trust me. I'm also sure you'll understand a bit more of what the group went through.
Also, if you look closely at their first three releases 'Eleven', 'Love Dive' and 'After Like', you'll notice a theme of narcissism from Greek mythology. With the water and reflections in 'eleven', to the lyrics of the rap in 'after like' (L O *I* V E, also making Love Ive) and especially 'Love Dive' with the 'narcissistic my god I love it~' where they seem to be obsessed with themselves and looking in the mirror, 'you into me, me into you' and the dance break with the water.
I find that very cool because the story was of how Narcissus fell in love with the reflection of his face from a river and died trying to never look away from it so I found all the imagery cool, especially since 'Love Dive' included Cupid.
14:50 the concept is called elegant it was also the concept of wonyoung’s and yujin’s previous group iz*one so their producers decided to continue that concept with ive and it’s working

Re: Wonyoung, she is an incredibly popular 4th gen IT girl, and like anyone who is that popular, she has more than her share of admirers and haters alike. She definitely used to be very underweight and was criticised for that image, but is much better recently. She's had a pretty rough time with people making up stories about her (who she eventually sued) and as you can imagine there are plenty of jealous people out there considering how she looks. But she's really one of the most hardworking people out there.
Two of IVE's best songs are B-sides without a MV. Check out Lips and Royal.
I've been following Kpop since 2009, and, if you don't mind my saying so, you are the most beautiful reactor I have seen in all those years, and are also an excellent reactor.
IVE's concept is elegance, thats why their dances aren't as hard as some others since they focus more on their visuals and being elegant

This is my first time commenting but I love watching your reactions. Also, it's okay to pause to add extra input. Gives unique perspective.
To start off, this may seem out of nowhere but IVE remind me of TXT in a way. Not exactly by their style of music but also because of their style of music? I unfortunately don't how to explain it properly but they have their own unique charm and concept along with already established concepts (Like, elegant youth in a sense with IVE and fairy-like with TXT) and their music is frankly excellent and go great together. If you love one group's songs you'll love the other ones' is what I think. I know I do and I think you do too.
Now, I love how your try to dissect what the song is about. The perspective of I AM being IVE forging their own paths and connecting it with airplanes was something I didn't think about so that was cool.
Also, I remember you saying you didn't like the talky one word choruses so I was surprised that you liked Kitsch as much as you did.
Also appreciate how you notice both dance and outfits especially on top of everything.
Also, all this music at once can feel a lot I'm sure so it's better if you take your time appreciating them. Hope to see a video later down the line of the favourite gg songs you've heard from all you react too. I think it'll be really cool.

if you like more melodically sounding songs you should listen to impurities, blue flame, and swan song by le sserafim. if you like very vocal heavy groups i would suggest kiss of life they are some of the best vocalist right now. new jeans is also a very good group with songs like ditto, omg, attention, super shy etc. they are one of the most popular girl groups right now, but their songs are usually on the shorter side.
