Hey junior AG, I'm just a big fan of American V8's. No matter what, you just can't get an aggresive sounding exhaust sound out of a 4 banger or a V6. I'm well aware of the impressive HP and power output of modern 4cyl and 6cyl engines, however, it just doesn't seem right in the Camaro.
JC Acoustic oh no the 4 sounds like a wet fart and the v6 sounds okay with a great set up the v8 is where it’s at but nothing wrong with starting with a 4 some people just can’t handle the power
It's a pushrod V8. It's supposed to do that. You could probably find better/softer rubber for the engine/trans mounts. (Tho that would be a downgrade.)
Glad you enjoyed, and yeah, it sucks. Keep an eye on the channel in the next week or so, I will be testing out Dr Color Chip on this car, see if it's as good as people say.
I have 16' 1SS since mid 2017 (I bought it with 1.5k miles on the odo) and everyting checks. After I drove 40k Km you can also add to the list: - need of catch can - rear diff halfshafts may unscrew themselves from diff (need to check on that each oil-change) - front suspension tend to gen loose - cut all oil and filter changes at least in half of what manual says. - change engine oil from 5w30 to 0w40 5w40 at least. - main screen tend to freeze or go batshit crazy alltogether (quick fuse pull 5min to fix). - dumb electrical problems for no reason - engine sound tube is retarded in this car - taillights from china are better quality than OEM - cheaper brake pads and brake rotors works better than OEM Brembo (stoptech and powerstop) - rear wing might be installed incorrectly and leak (rear amp or fusebox might fry due to that) - factory carpet inserts are joke. They desintegrated after year of use. Other than that that is the most reliable car I have ever owned. (Also downloading pdf manual and ctrl+f helps)
2:27 What does it mean to bounce the clutch? On rare occasions when I let off the clutch my car will feel like it’s “bouncing” back and forth with no throttle or minimum throttle input. Not sure if that’s what you’re referring to?
Shockingly enough, a few cars still come with manual transmissions. Lol a truck with a stick, that's just crazy talk, doesn't matter that my 92 F150 is beat all to hell, but the 5 speed still shifts fine.
Off topic of this vehicle but in the ballpark of its manufacturer what y'all say about the Pontiac gto think they stopped making them in 2006 heard they had either a 5.7 or a 6.0 either one of em any good ? Because I'm looking to get something I can put straight pipes and a cam on to piss off the neighbors
Great cars, the only one I regret selling. The 6th gen feels like an evolution on it. Watch the suspension and the fuel line where the beauty cover goes. Get the 6.0L. Oh and I did do a raving review on it too. ua-cam.com/video/QK3cW0NgXD0/v-deo.html
Just when I thought there were no more presents under the tree. Glad you're enjoying the new SS JC, looks fucking dope. Merry Christmas to you and yours buddy. I can tell you where this story ends in 15 years. With that sum-bitch clapped out in my driveway!
Merry Christmas to you too. Yeah, took a lot for me to buy a new car, I've never liked the idea of paying for a depreciating asset, but I got sick of used. Oh I can already see whats going to happen and you'll find that out pretty soon.
@@316Autos I hear you buddy. I just blew the LT1 in my c4 (surprise surprise). Now I've got a '17 accord in the driveway, among the rest of my shitboxes. Sometimes it's just worth it to get a reliable vehicle. Looking forward to seeing what you do with the SS for sure.
Yeah, always a good idea to take inspiration from the early 3rd gen... with a 4 banger option. I've heard problems of the Passkey not working on a 3rd gen, but that key idea is beyond fucking stupid. And certainly has to be way too complicated to do any basic tuning or maintenance, welcome to the future of dealership trade in valued vehicles.
Power wise, the Scat pack and the Camaro are right there with each other. Mustang will likely win on the top end, but for sheer driving around and 1/4 mile, the camaro and scat will win. Interior and paint quality, the camaro is the worst, but the camaro has comfortable seats. Looks are subjective, but I like the Challenger, Camaro, and Mustang in that order. Mustang can be had way cheaper, Challenger is the most expensive by a long shot. Any way you go, you're getting a good car.
@@316Autos I feel like the Charger has the most to offer because its a sedan and badass looking. The Mustang would come in second for me. The Camaro would come in last tbh cus that 19 redesign is ugly.
@@aboogie4lyf If you watch my channel, you will come to discover that I hate automatic transmissions. Charger is auto only, thus I have a hard time liking them. No doubt the 19 redesign was hideous, but the 2020 design is far better. I basically went on a looks, price, performance ratio. Camaro was best on performance that I use, and middle on price and looks. Challenger had the best looks and tied for power, but the price just killed it. Mustang had weaker performance and looks, but the best price. It really was a tossup on the Mustang vs the Camaro for me, but I also hated how the clutch pedal sat on the mustang.
@@316AutosI think i know what I want I also am considering a new ram and F150. All depending on how reliable my current truck is in 2 years from now. I lean more to the Ford in this case cus it would stand the test of time than a ram.
I haven't experienced any issues with the transmission at all. My only complaint is the paint quality, but that's a GM thing in general, because my brother in law's 2021 silverado chips just as easy.
Wow, are you really that clueless about this car? Sure, it has g f’d laws, but it’s the best rendering yet of the Camaro & it damn nice to drive. Get the skip shift eliminator for $20 & enjoy your 6 speed!
So you're acknowledging that the car has flaws, yet you're still angry....Ok then, whatever floats your boat. Yes, that's what everyone for the last 26 years has been doing, doesn't make it any less annoying.
I have a 2017 Fifty special edition 6 speed and absolutely love it! Clutch is butter smooth and couldn't be any easier to drive, you can nit pick any car and find things wrong with it, be happy with what you have!!
I did after this, and a dodge after that, and I might get another camaro later down the road. Never know with me, the one thing I've sworn off for good is Corvettes.
4cyl, 6cyl. You shouldn't have one in a f#@kin' Camaro. Truth!
JC Acoustic I have a 2017 4cyl and a 2017 v8 they both are great cars

Bullshit. I don't know about the 4cyl but Camaros have always had a V6 option for as long as I can remember.
That 3.6 V6 sounds amazing in the Camaro don't kid yourself.
Great to have you back love your vidoes and keep it up!!
Thanks. Will do. I actually have a video editor that doesn't require a masters degree to use, so I am far more inclined to make them.
I swear to god I thought I was the only one who realized it didn’t smooth at idle 😂 I thought the mf was about to break or some
I noticed it right off with the C7 vette, same thing, I thought it was fixing to break. When I got the 18 SS, I realized it was a factory quirk.
It's a pushrod V8. It's supposed to do that.

Pretty much what you described. It's usually from not enough throttle, but GM doesn't really have smooth clutches any more, so it's really easy to do.

Does ur lt1 tick ? Mine has 60k miles 2018 ss it just sounds like the injectors idk it’s still strong as hell but just asking
The injectors are definitely noisy and tick. If the sound is new, it's worth investigating, but if it's been there, I wouldn't worry much.

If you thought the new Camaro is bad, you should how bad the 2015-2019 Colorado trucks are especially when it comes to the engine wiring.
Timing chain/guide replacement is cause to junk the truck. Dropping the front end (4WD) to change the timing cover ?

Don't think so. To be fair, the little key is just a backup, and the engine should start even without a battery in the fob.

Real. Born and raised Texan. I sometimes tone it down for my friends in Australia, must have done it on accident in that part.
