- Hi guys, this is part 1 of a 3 part series adding 170 horsepower to the 2018 Yamaha MT10.

I have to tell you guys with the addition of the PC5 it completely changed the power delivery on the motorcycle. So much more responsive, so much more power especially in sixth gear where the bike feels like it keeps on pulling all the way through the rev range. Absolutely Blown Away by the performance and saved $1,500 on doing this through a shop by buying a second-hand unit with the flash already loaded onto it.

Had my mt10 done at S&R awhile back, akra link, end can and ti headers, came out at 160hp, didn't think there would be such a large difference.
That's mad. I'd love to get this bike on the Dyno to confirm the actual horsepower figures instead of relying on old mate
So the flat spot is kinda like a lag in the power? Seems like the power kicked on basically after you got out of the curve. Correct me if im wrong (still noobish in riding)
Yep spot on. Just like a lag. If you play the video again you'll notice my bike takes a different line than the rider in front of me. I keep turning when he's already straightened up out of the corner.
What happened if you dont tune after full exhaust? I have r3 not yet tune with full exhaust
there is no effect to your motor performance whatsoever, there will only be a bottleneck, like you upgrade your VGA but your CPU cant compete with it, it can run just fine, no downgrade to your performance, but you cant bring out it maximum performance.
Many profesional team or rider change their exhaust to upgrade their performance, however if you don't chase performance only want it for loud sound, its ok
Jesus, that lack of throttle response changed the trajectory drastically with the lean angle. That was definitely freckle puckering from camera view!

I have the 2016 R1 with Akra and PC5. I was always under the impression the PC5's lock to the ECU? At least thats what I was told... Mine has 184HP, so its very interesting to see what the MT10 does
Check your link pipes' packaging - it comes with another carbon heat shield. I think you are still rocking the HS from the slip on

Don't you lose the dynamic air temp OEM tune with a power commander?
I have no idea of what that is. Could you explain in more detail?
AdjrianNickelodeon I went into the tune shop and he said with a reflash or power commander, you’re tuning the fuel delivery to a set amount. Apparently the OEM flash is dynamic based on the temperature? To be honest I was hoping you’d know more about it than me, haha. The guy at Sydney City Motor cycles basically talked me out of doing the tune on my 2018 MT-10 (link pipe).
Woah he talked you put of a tune after adding a link pipe?! I can attest from personal experience that's incorrect. I don't know anything about dynamic airtemp stuff. I know there's piggyback units that trick the air temp sensor into thinking it's colder or warmer to deliver more fuel to the engine but other than that I have no idea
AdjrianNickelodeon I think I will keep my ear to the ground for a power commander like you’ve done. I’m sure I/we all will hear from you, if it gives any grief. Thanks for the info.

Changing the exhaust on the MT10 without the pcv will lose you 8 BHP all over the range, it is lean after the change and needs the pcv to add fuel and you will get that extra 10 ponies

170hp on an MT10? Doubtful! lol

@@AdjrianNickelodeon come to Melbourne :D I think you will find most MT10s will make 150-160hp at the tyre on the dyno, ive never seen one make 170hp. Mine made 155hp. To get 170 id say you would need to be running e85 and these bikes are already thirsty enough!
