I still respect how you say what you believe with conviction and good reasons
Serious fans of sports --- not to say anything about analysts.... on any high level professional sport --- who put time and effort in viewing and studying videos, to come up with different scenarios for the various possible permutations... it's fine if a certain number of their specific picks is wrong.
GSP, for example, did a perfect analysis on the Charles-Chandler fight, including his second to last observation being that Charles "has more ways to win," but GSP concluded that he'd pick Chandler to win by KO.
The problem with the average UA-cam poster is, they use these one-word, one-line childish proclamations. They treat MMA like how they view comic book movies, where their heroes are invincible. Logic, statistics, reasoning as to what PERMUTATION could actualize in an elite fight among two guys, often times with very different kills... such things mean nothing to these 4 year-old one-word/one-line MMA experts.
If they string together 2-3-4 random winning picks, they have no doubt they're geniuses --- like the herd they run around with, who are spewing and regurgitating each other's one-word/one-line gibberish --- but if not, you don't hear from them again, as to how they got it so wrong, etc. They just move on to making more of these mindless "deep" one-word/one-line proclamations.

If it just takes someone being confident in their stupidity to gain your respect you should question what your respect is worth.
Props to Lucas. Instead on leave behind their wrong predictions and ignore people mocking him and his prediction after the fight, he embraces them and makes a proper retrospective on it.

I know it’s soon. But when everyone was doubting Charles Oliveira vs Beneil. All I could say was “Charles is just gonna find a way to win”. I genuinely stood by that. And I was right, but I was also wrong. He didn’t “find a way to win” he completely shut beneil dariush down and took him out in the first round. I was expecting an extremely close fight, and an uphill battle for Charles Oliveira. Even though I thought he was gonna win, I didn’t expect him to dominate like that.
I was scared for Olives too, but he had many paths to victory you could rationalize.

My best prediction ever was masvidal v askren.. I was at Buffalo wild wings with a girl I was dating, and giving her a breakdown of each fighter before the fights. I told her "I think askren should be able to maul masvidal on the ground as his grappling is weak, but we all know askren is shooting the takedown as soon as the fight starts, if masvidal throws his knee up he could knock him out at the start of the round".... aaaaaand we know how that went. Closest I've ever come to telling the future.
All these predictions have been reasonable other than Jones vs Gane. You had absolutely 0 reason to pick Gane in that fight, let alone in a 50-45 decision.

when i first started gettin into mma i didn’t like tracy so much because of how confident he was in his bad picks i thought he was just arrogant. then as time went on i realized he makes really valid points and stays consistent with what he says, it’s just hard to predict fights. all my homies fw tracy.

A big part of why I subscribed to your channel was cuz of ur really bold takes, you say things as it is with no sugar coating behind it, and that I respect, no matter how horribly wrong your picks turn out to be in reality, but at the positive side of things, being wrong does end up making for some good and humorous post fight video reactions

@@jamesthompson9003 I feel really sorry for you if you think Jon tried in that fight or was even close to being at his best. Clearly unmotivated as it was his last fight at 205. Yes you could argue Dominick won 48-47 but Jon Jones at his VERY BEST was only tested by gustafsson

How is that a bad prediction? Izzy was down 0-3. The only way to predict Izzy is to predict the weight cut being harder for Alex, which is what happened.

*Lucas picked Poatan by 1st-2nd rd KO* this time when Izzy has outlanded him in every fight & even won 1 of them & was robbed in their first KB fight. Not sure if you watched all of their fights full but the 2nd one Pereira Koed him, & *the 3rd, Izzy was outstriking him in every rd aside from the fifth with the early stoppage* & then the 4th where *I was like the only one to pick Izzy by KO within 3 rds, I barely lose bets & apparently smarter than most ppl* 😂
When I go into fights, I like to look at everything the weight cut, the mental, physical, everything. Poatan being too big for the weight only screwed him even more in this one. *Dude cuts around 50 lbs.* If they fight again, I got Izzy once again too depending on the circumstances.

Lucas I love your breakdown and analysis videos but I’m starting to place my mma bets by betting on whoever you think is going to loose.
My brother told me before the Oliveira-Dariush fight that Charles was going to tko Beneil in the first round. He said that Beneil cannot fight off of his back foot and that offensively, Charles is so much more complete than Beneil is.

To be fair tho, in Hill vs Glover, Glover hit a threshold and got old between fights
With Gane and Jones i think people don't talk enough about his mental preparation. He studies all of his opponents to not just have a crazy range of options but to know which ones to use and when to pull them out. Potential skill has to be refined into actual gameplans that you need to adapt to during a fight. No one does these things better Bones and his team.

Brother, i think Gane vs Jones was just an experience issue. Every time jones made mistakes, he learned a lot from what he had tried. Ciryl hasn't had losses and chances to improve his technique really. Just IMO.
Gane is clearly not bothered with improving. He's 2nd best. jones is retiring, so why bother/ HWs terrible division where gane will make bank into his 40s no problem.

Honest to god the only time I’ve ever gotten something that wrong was when I chose Megan Anderson to beat Nunes back in 2020, I just saw how GDR out struck and pressured Nunes and I thought Anderson would be like that with more power and even longer then GDR, wow I was wrong
My worst pick has to be the last 5 Tony Ferguson fights. I always pick him because I love Tony, but my god have I been wrong. To be fair though, I pick him simply because he’s my favorite fighter and I’m well aware he wasn’t gonna actually win all 5.
