Hey guys! You know I love sharing with you exactly how things are done. So today I wanted to bring you behind the scenes and show you my video editing process and some simple editing tips that help to make your UA-cam videos look better! If you're just getting started with UA-cam and don't have money to invest in Final Cut Pro yet, iMovie is a great (& FREE) option! I use iMovie to edit all of my UA-cam videos and it works great!

OKAY I HAD NO IDEA these edits were possible in iMovie! This is gonna safe me so much money 😂
I thought you needed Final Cut Pro to color correct and do other things. I thought iMovie just lets you put clips together and ick one of their preset color filters. I think you can only do this inns iMac. I do t see these options on my iPhone.

Same this is a good way to start off, I don't have any editing professional software, or anything to start a UA-cam channel(Have some editing experience but not a lot) So this is a great video since I have simple devices like iPhone, MacBook, iPad. Now I can optimize iMovie and make more professional videos. Im thinking of starting a UA-cam channel and maybe making a few videos to start off. I’m no professional, but I am not a fan of the breath editing out. I personally feel that it makes the video seen choppy. But otherwise you’re doing great!!

There are some people who try to explain what to do when editing but they might not always be the best at explaining it so it can be confusing. You, however, break it down in a way that's incredibly easy to understand! I love your content and thanks for sharing these tips with us!

Just goes to show, you don't really need fancy editing software to get the job done. I'm currently transitioning to Premiere Pro after 5 years using iMovie... Questioning my sanity now 😜

@@Kykaii Depends on what you are picking. When you press the plus sign, two options turn up: movie and trailer. You want to pick movie because it gives you a free flow

Hey wondering if you might have input with your iMovie background. I have been using imovie with some of my youtube videos. Question for you. I have read that the music from imovie is copyright free. On one of my youtube videos I got a copyright claim on part of the background music I used from imovie. Would you fight the copyright claim? Thanks in advance for your help! 😊
Here are the 2 reasons I just subscribed to your channel. 1. You didn't drag it out to 32 minutes to tell us these same things. I like to get through things and then try it myself. 2. Your music doesn't break the ear drums. Lots of people are at work (not me, I work for myself and have for a few decades) so when loud music comes on, it can get them in trouble. I just think it's stupid to have loud music so I never subscrive to anyone that has loud music.

Yes thought iMovie was kind of useless and had to get FCP to do some real editing.
Something I find super helpful is to colour correct the clips as soon as I import them before making any cuts, that way you don't have to copy and paste it to various different parts!

This has been the easiest, clearest, straight to the point and pleasant videos I have ever watched!!! Some great tips. I definitely would like to see more iMovie editing tips that there may be. I know it's not as robust of a program as some others, but I use it and would definitely like to leverage it as much as I can for as long as I can before needing to upgrade to a paid program.
I really love your content - it's what YOU do and what works for YOU and comes across as authentic (unlike others who try to appear at established filmmakers! but aren't!). I would give one tip on your screencast tutorials: drop the monitor resolution to 1280 x 720. This will give a nice large easy to read screen. I watched this on a small ish laptop and it was hard to see what you were doing, on a mobile device it would be impossible at this resolution. only the screencast everything else can be what you want. [I use Final Cut Pro and can zoom in and out, not sure how flexible iMovie is, but a readable resolution works quickly and easily anyway]

Hahaha using iMovie on your iPad is a little bit different than your desktop. And I think it's harder just because I couldn't use a mouse! But it's still a way to edit your videos!
The one thing I was looking for and did not find, was how to add a clickable link (not end screen, in the middle) to my video. How about a 2 min video on this?

What she is showing is only in iMovie using a iMac. I don’t se these options on my iMovie on my iPhone. I am surprised you can do that much such as color correction and then apply it to other clips. I thought iMovie was very basic like she says it is.
