I did the same as you. The owner of the B&B was so excited about the telescope and the pictures, that he stayd till 4am. That was really nice and the nicest part of it, that he was a phycisist and me as a physic student :D

I don’t think we would be detectable to them, we have only had radio for a little over 100 years. So if we were beaming messages straight to them they are still 2.5 million light years away. If they got it and said hello back we would receive their reply in 5 million years!
I remember a certain someone killing me at Cherry Springs for mounting a Redcat on an Orion EQ-G and being WAY over mounted.... when I saw your setup I lost it and cracked up thinking of that day! Looks like a great trip and a beautiful image!
Your so right my friend about the country. I grew up on a Farm and moved to the city about 20 years ago. I find myself heading back to the farm at least once a month. Now thanks to you and few other Astro U Tubers I'm seeing the old place in a new way. Im out all night shotting Landscape and Deep Sky Astro and loving it. It's a bortal 4 and I also got a good Andromeda photo for my level of experience as well. Please continue the inspiring work.
Glad you had a good time man! I live in Bortle 4 skies, and I absolutely love it. I have to warn you though, there's aperture fever and then there's dark sky fever. Even though I live in a Bortle 4, visiting Bortle 1 skies has given me the dark skies fever.
I'm trying to figure out what Bortle zone I live in. I'm about 7 miles from a small town (less than 15k pop) it's so dark at night I have run into large objects like the 55 gallon burn barrel. There is very faint sky glow in one direction less than 10% of the horizon. I'm not sure if it would be Bortle 3 or 2.
I love visits from the critters through the night. I've spent many nights with the coyotes singing, saw whet and great horned owls, deer, foxes and even the occasional bear. They are nothing to fear, and will leave you alone once they know you're there. One morning as the dawn broke, I realized I had a dozen deer bedded in the field around me. It is exhilerating to be so in touch with nature and the cosmos at the same time.
This literally took my breath away. I only have a cheap celestron, and can barely see the rings of saturn, but I will get to where I can take pictures like this. So incredible.
That’s a really nice image. I finally got a halfway decent Andromeda on a night like that a couple weeks ago. We have some friends that live in a bottle 5 and their back yard faces south into a cornfield- so there’s a huge amount of sky to work with. I’d love to build a remote observatory out there.
its amazing what driving just and hour from my City will do for star viewing. I took my kids out a few months ago and they were both blown away with how many stars they could see. My daughter was especially amazed at the how perfect just the big dipper was.
I'm lucky in that I've not long moved to class 4, although haven't been able to fully take advantage, mainly due to the weather and work. But I'm so looking forward to getting some decent time during the autumn/winter, especially as the rig sits right outside the summerhouse. Excellent final image as always!
I am excited for you Trevor and feel blessed to live in Bortle 5 skies...I know you've been at this for 10 years but you wouldn't know it because your passion shines through in each video! Great image!
Just amazing! Thank you for taking the time to go out of town... spend the night and with your expertise, come back to show us a galaxy... wow... wow... wow... I could have stand there... with you and in awe! Thank for sharing.
Trevor do it! You won't be disappointed out in the country. My wife's farm is in Bortle 5 skies in Michigan and were building a house on the farm next year. Ive been fortunate enough to image all summer from their farm and its unreal. This video literally depicted my summer and its hard to describe. PS, you'll get used to the coyotes. Plus you can talk Ashley into letting you build an observatory!
I found possibly the best youtube channel today. You made astrophotography my hobby. Thnx and Love from India. Keep doing such works. Just Awesome and Mindblowing..
amazing video as usual. assuming this was this past Friday, I was also imaging Andromeda and it was my first attempt at any astro photo. turned out really well thanks to all your videos. Keep it coming!
Spending a night outside alone under the stars with my telescope and camera is one of the highs of my life. As a city dweller it makes it extra special to drive out to a dark sky site. Fortunately my local astronomy club has a bortle 4 site only 75 minutes away that I try to get to one or two times a month. Shooting without any filters is awesome! Another stellar addition to your Astro collection.
I was thinking to my self "This photo is going to be pretty great" and it still took me by surprise how amazing it was! That EOS Ra and dark skies seem to be an almost unbeatable combo great stuff as always Trevor!
Man I remember when you dedicated a andromeda photo you took to your dad when he went to the hospital. That very video Is what got me into astrophotography and why I own the scope I do and why I want a mount I can actually take real astro photos with. I even got a old T3i so I can modify it instead of my T7i and try to capture the beauty of the universe like you. You are such an aspiring person bud. Keep up the great work/fun.
I have so much going on in my life with a new son and and my 9 year old daughter and a new mortgage, that I can't even begin to think about buying a mount to run my new scope on. And I didn't even get the eye pieces or the diagonal for it. Don't plan on looking through it though. Just pictures. I can't wait until I can afford that mount. The universe awaits. And I am going to spend many of nights just like this.
@@deepastro7460 I ended up getting a star tracker, the star shoot C.A.T by Orion. And even with the dec bracket and counterweight it only holds 8.8lbs. But my scope (skywatcher 72mm apo doublet refractor) and just the T7i and skywatcher reducer/corrector on it is only 7.4lbs. But it trails bad. And I'm not sure If it's the incorrect spacing with the reducer/corrector or if that star tracker just can't do 7.3lbs good. But I do know I am extremely unhappy that I bought the 900 dollars worth of equipment that was made for each other and there is definitely spacing issues. The people at skywatcher said they had released a short tube 72ed version in 2019 and that they had since changed the length of the focus tube to correct it and I must have gotten the old one. Very disappointing. And by time I had clear skies and a chance to test it my 30 days was up on the return. Now I need a good mount to test further so I can eliminate that as a possible problem.
awesome shoot !!! I did the same in May after the 1st Lockdown here in France. We went 1h driving far from home with AstroFriends. We ended at 5am, in the midlle of corn fields. New lockdown will begin tomorrow, time to make astro from balcony at the flat. Then going out for 2-3 nights before Christmas.
Trevor you should see the sky in the north of quebec during the winter, in high school i had the chance to be there one week during the fall and winter every years and it's a crazy experience to be there observing the stars
Great video. As we all get thru these tough times, it's great for us to get the telescope and head out for a night out. And be safe. Never thought about an Air B&B. A great hobby to socially distance.
This was a joy to watch! Thrilled to hear that you may be contemplating a move to a dark sky location. As much as astrophotography has become a passion for you... it would be good for your soul. Fabulous Andromeda. And without filters.. Go Radian!!!!! ‘Till next time.
I have a small country house in Bortle 2-3 here in Russia and for me as for astrophotographer this is one of my best decidion, not only due to astrophotography, but due to corona lockdown. This is incredible - you can shoot everything you want on color camera without any filters and see TRUE universe beauty
Trevor, that was absolutely fantastic! I was so jealous, wish I could have been part of that amazing picture and evening. Something I would love to try but so expensive it's kind of out of reach. That has to be one of your best ones yet, certainly one of my favorites. Thank you for sharing, keep them coming.
We recently purchased 5 acres out in the country, on a hill, and it's a whole bortle level lower than where we are in town. I love the isolation and big open sky! Do yourselves a favor and jump on getting out under the dark skies, man! Thanks for the great video! :)
Amazing shots, Trevor. I've been talking about that future with my wife as well, of leaving our skies here in the DC region for something further out after the kids are out of school and off on their own adventure. Keep inspiring!
Like you didn't take a leak in the woods 😉... Great shot as usual... I always drive out to the country for some Bortle 3/4 AP... But the weather here in the UK has been especially challenging lately . Wifey and Rudi would love the country life..
Fantastic! Having to deal with light polluted skies in the largest city in the Central Valley of California I totally understand your desire to live in a more rural environment. If I drive 45 minutes to an hour I can be shooting in the Sierra foothills or flat valley plains far from city lights. This summer however, California has been burning so much that the skies are filled with heavy to light smoke every day. That smoke then reflects light pollution which makes astrophotography basically a moot point. I’m anxious for clear skies for breathing as much as photography. Great photo Trevor!
One time I was out in the mountains in PA and caught a glimpse of it, could see it with my eye but its just a tiny hazy cloud, but its an entire object outside our own Galaxy, 2.5 million light years away, billions of other stars, so awesome! Thank you!
WOW, what a nice result.! My parents farm is my dark site. Out there, SH2-36 will show up in 15s subs on an old 128/2.8 lens at 5.6. At home, I have yet to catch it with any of my gear. So I totally get considering wanting to move out to the country.
That is an amazing image! I think the dream of living in the middle of nowhere with dark skies is something we all have. In the UK though .......price cuts most of us mere mortals out
Great Job! I Love that Sharp Detail between that blue and purple; I have had lots of clouds here in lansing mi, its driving me nuts...I'm in the beginners stage, I've been manually tracking objects,(working my way up) in about 10 days I'll have a star tracker and a light pollution filter...I've been so excited trying to choose an object, I'm gonna pick an easy one for my first tracking session; I've watched all your videos and have learned ALOT! So thank you...GREAT PiCTURE ! CLEAR SKIES!!!!!!
That was astounding.... tohave a look at the galaxy that's going to collide with our galaxy and then reflecting of the outcome is mindbogling. Thankyou Thankyou and Thankyou
the picture in the end is unbelievable. I remember this day, I went to work 6am when I looked to Michigan sky, I could see clearly pleiades. great day.
This feeling of just me being outside during clear skies is what I love too. I live in a more rural area in the "mountains" (more like high hills) in germany and there isn't that much light pollution, so with perfect condition you can see the milky way a bit with your own eyes. (and even the andromeda galaxy) During the corona pandemic in summer I was able to go out in 100% of clear skies and because we had a pretty dry summer there were a lot of clear night skies. It was just beautiful.
I live in a Bortle 4 zone in rural north Texas. There's a Bortle 2 zone just an hour away and I have been there four times in the past year. There's nothing like it!
Wow your photograph of M31 was unbelievable awesome! Awesome setup that triplet is unbelievable bang for the buck! Have seen similar details back in the 80's through astro-physics triplets from 80mm to a 250 mm ! Digital has allowed even small scopes obtain what film allowed back then.
Why did I tear up a bit after watching this video?! An isolated and silent place away from everyone, staring into a night sky... a perfect thing an INFP can dream of
I moved back to the country after living in the city for 20+ years. Our municipality (Argyle, NS) has light pollution bylaws so hopefully it will stay that way for a long time. Now in Bortle 1.5 skies, I will never leave...
This is a phenomenal picture. I've been wanting to get into astrophotography for a while now and your videos are teaching me so much. I've already started gathering my "beginner" equipment.
I live in the countryside Trevor and I can honestly say there is nothing more amazing than stepping outside into the backyard with the sky full of stars. Hope you can get a nice spot in the county too.
I live way out in the Country and had a very close encounter with a ufo that is why I started astrophotography this guy is good I have learned most of my stuff watching these videos.
Big mount for your Raptor61, hope to see you use the Star Adventurer someday ,cause I am planning to buy a Raptor for myself and I got an Adventurer, so... will like to see the result with that setup... Nice to watch you as always.
Can you imagine if one day humans become more conscious of light pollution and we advance enough to have cities and live in harmony on earth with little to no light pollution. Imagine how amazing life would be. Every night I look up at the ski and see some stars and yes it is beautiful, but I can't help to be frustrated that I live in a extremely light polluted area and cant actually see much. Anyway Love your videos man! i became passionate about the night sky and actually got a 8" dobsonian reflector because of your videos.
I wanted to get out of my London, ON Bortle 8 backyard too... and built a place in a Bortle 4 sky nearby where you were and it is amazing the difference. Now if I could only move the clouds away.... as I can handle listening to the Coyotes.
Amazing, congratulations on awesome M31 pictures! As astro amateurs, we know how hard is to find a good, dark viewing site. That's why we started building an international map of places for astronomy and astrophotography fans.
Awesome video Trevor! Hope maybe some day you make a special trip down to the Erie area! That's where I'm at and we have some pretty nice dark skies across the lake here. Be freaking awesome to meet ya one day and chat
A true dark night sky is indeed a sight to behold. This video made me remember the first time I had the chance to be dazed by it. I was a little kid on a trip to a relatives house in another city down the country. In the road, the car broke down. It was night. We were totally concerned looking under the roof, trying to figure out what was wrong, when my father had the idea to turn out the lights to check the electric system of the car. When the lights went out we did realize our surroundings. Simply stunning. I remember being able to see tiny little stars everywhere, tiny little white dots, even to the bottom of the horizon line. I dreamed with that sky for months to come. Such beauty we unfortunately have lost in modern times. That day made me the "astronomy head" I am today. Love your videos man. If I may a suggestion, could you show the "Live view" image from the telescope? As you would view the image in the eyepiece? I wonder how it would look like through a huge telescope like that.
I have the opportunity to live in the countryside where I can see Orion and other constellations from my home. Also, by driving a few miles, I have open fields all around and magnificent starry sky. Coyotes keep me company most of the times. Isn’t it wonderful?! Now ... it’s winter 🥶 and tonight, sky clear as you couldn’t believe but .... it’s -31C ... kinda chilly for me and the camera 📷. I live in the area of Lotbinière county, in the province of Québec. Your videos and information given are just wonderful. Thank you very much 😍🤩

Just think, there's some guy in M31 out with the critters imaging the Milky Way.
That's honestly the clearest photo I've seen recently of deep space Astro. Well done Trevor 👌
Well done Trevor! Like the colors and stars! came out good!
Amazing i wish i could live there
This is beyond beautiful!!! Thanks for sharing this!!
This is a phenomenal picture. I've been wanting to get into astrophotography for a while now and your videos are teaching me so much. I've already started gathering my "beginner" equipment.
Oh wow this is so amazing . always enjoy your videos. I know what`s coming at the end of the video a beautiful image.
I live in the countryside Trevor and I can honestly say there is nothing more amazing than stepping outside into the backyard with the sky full of stars. Hope you can get a nice spot in the county too.
Stunning! Even saw Cassiopeia (my personal favourite constellation :)
Awesome video. Thank you for taking the time to make this. Beautiful picture
I live way out in the Country and had a very close encounter with a ufo that is why I started astrophotography this guy is good I have learned most of my stuff watching these videos.
Wow!!! You should come to Banff, Beautiful clear nights with bortle 1 sky!!!!
Great video Trevor! Keep em coming, I love when you post new videos man, your an inspiration to us all bro!
Wow what a breath taking image,I wish I could take a picture like that with my rig
Big mount for your Raptor61, hope to see you use the Star Adventurer someday ,cause I am planning to buy a Raptor for myself and I got an Adventurer, so... will like to see the result with that setup...
Nice to watch you as always.
Looking like you had a lot of fun Trevor! Nice M31!
Wow what a great picture . good job
Welcome to the country we live in Chesaning Mi with a bortle 4 it's so nice to be able to step out the door and get beautiful shots.
Always amazes me how incredible your work is!! Keep it up Trevor!!
Wow! That is totally incredible shot! Awesome job!
The quality of ur videos is just insane. I get so excited every time you post a new one! Clear skies!
Amazing, congratulations on awesome M31 pictures! As astro amateurs, we know how hard is to find a good, dark viewing site. That's why we started building an international map of places for astronomy and astrophotography fans.
Nothing could be happier when toke the photo of galaxy eventually!
Nice astro vlog 🌷very beautiful image of galaxy😎👍
That is so incredible. Just beautiful.
Awesome video Trevor! Hope maybe some day you make a special trip down to the Erie area! That's where I'm at and we have some pretty nice dark skies across the lake here. Be freaking awesome to meet ya one day and chat
Dude I'm really enjoying this awesome editing and video quality. You've improved by light years :) Not that it wasn't already good before!
What a beautiful galaxy 😍😍😍
Thank you for captured this.
Oh man that was a good story
I have the opportunity to live in the countryside where I can see Orion and other constellations from my home. Also, by driving a few miles, I have open fields all around and magnificent starry sky. Coyotes keep me company most of the times. Isn’t it wonderful?!
Now ... it’s winter 🥶 and tonight, sky clear as you couldn’t believe but .... it’s -31C ... kinda chilly for me and the camera 📷. I live in the area of Lotbinière county, in the province of Québec.
Your videos and information given are just wonderful. Thank you very much 😍🤩
I love in a class B3 dark sky area, it’s worth it out in the country by far... and the wildlife likes to visit often too!
Great Picture of Andromeda Galaxy. really Amazing, keep It up🔭
