This is probably the most important kind of thing that large tech companies ought to do for the sake of their customers, the environment, and sustainability in general. Nice

I agree with you here, this is a great step in this direction, and if microsoft starts doing something, hopefully other companies will follow behind.

Incredibly repairable for being such a unique device.

Why has this incredibly high-end device in a very small form factor (for the computer itself) better repairability than my 10-year old laptop? Incredible work, Microsoft Surface Team!

THIS is one reason this company is soo popular, it is NOT soldered in place, like some tech companies do, so if something breaks, you can 'fix it' economically, without e-wasting the whole device!!

Might you discuss how owners might modify the display cables to use as a monitor for a more powerful external computer?

Thank you so much for the detailed video! Really appreciate it. I have a Studio but it stopped working abruptly one day and it won't power on. Might you think of any causes? Because I don't even know what parts I might need to repair it since it won't even turn on. Would it be helpful to get a power supply and try to replace it with the current one?

I have a Studio 1 and have babied it from day 1. The screen has gone bad and a very noticeable pink glow exists around the perimeter. I see a LOT of these for sale on Ebay with the exact same problem where they are being sold for less than they should be becuase of this problem. I have never had this problem on any other Surface device I have owned and I have owned a LOT of them and still use them and love them! It would be really great if Surface would consider doing a recall on these screens or offer a cost effective way to replace them. I have purchased someone's machine for very cheap that wont turn on from Ebay hoping the panel is good and I can swap out the panels (it is doable). I have an apple Studio display and as glorious as they are, I still prefer this amazing screen of the Studio so this is really disappointing considering how much these cost to purchase. I sure hope these new Studios do not have the same problem as I just set up a new one for a client last month and have recommended them to a lot of people.

Nicely done, I was wondering where the SSD was in my MS Studio Surface 2 + and now I know. If I'm replacing the SSD with a 4TB model, am I correct in that I need an SSD version with a built-in heat sink?

One last question : where are the parts ? I mean we now know how to open the device but where can we buy components ?

That is a good point, without parts it doesn’t matter how easy it is to pull apart.

Has anyone ever used the screen off of this for another computer? Or know where I may find the information. I hate to buy a screen just because this computer is too slow

Is it possible to upgrade the CPU and GPU in the Surface Studio 2 to those in the "+" version, or are they soldered?

It probably requires very specialized equipment to do it safely, and most of it must be just a big monolythic piece with not much to repair really.
