For me, it took a few days to get used to the regen and one pedal driving. IMO, it is an easy and quiet car to drive. I think everyone should rent one to test drive 😊
Hey Daren! The regen in a Tesla is something. I was behind the wheel of a Model 3 over the weekend and I was glad I was in the parking lot driving around because the regen on Standard was so much stronger to what I was use to when I had a Prius. It's so cool how going downhill can put energy back into your battery! Have fun!
Will likely get a Model Y with Hardware 4.0 in early-2024. Each HW generation usually lasts for 3-4 years and there is no urgency for us with high COE prices.
Nothing else directly. Am a TSLA investor, and my goal of making these videos is to truly understand Tesla’s products (good and bad), so that my conviction is grounded on reality.
Beside going up and down to venting, I hope some one will do a test drive from KL to Kuantan as the distance and winding road are more relevant to everyday use for the car.
We just had a team of Thai Tesla owners (2 Model 3s + 1 Model Y) making a 4,000km round trip from Bangkok to Singapore. The EV charging network is improving quickly and hopefully East Coast Malaysia will see more chargers soon too.
Hi Daren. Thanks for the video and it gives me a good sense on what to expect when driving my M3 up to Genting in the future! There is another less intrusive way to disengage auto pilot. You can do so by moving the right stalk up once.
Many Tesla owners in Malaysia are happy with the default Autopilot available on all Teslas, and are looking forward to FSD Version 12 launching in Malaysia which is a major upgrade in FSD capabilities. It may take 1-2 years to reach Malaysia.
Hey Jeff. Most EVs don’t have gear, so it’s a very simple experience driving downhill. When you let go of the accelerator on a Tesla, the car will come to a complete stop (on default ‘Hold Mode’ regen braking), both downhill and uphill (it won’t roll forward or back). No brake is needed (unless for emergencies or rapid deceleration), so your brake pads can last much longer. If you have a friend with a Tesla, can consider a test drive to Genting yourself to experience it.
Informative video. It might not hit a non EV owner much that you gained 5% SOC coming back. This can only happen with an EV. But must still bear in mind that the law of conservation of energy still apply. I have an out of topic question. What brand is your smart watch?
Model Y Long Range has 384 horsepower, instant torque with dual motor all wheel drive. This makes the car very easy to drive up and downhill and it handled everything extremely well (even in rain). 100% recommend that you test drive a Model Y to Genting if you get the chance.
Hi Daren, I need a favor from you, would like to book Tesla Y model in Malaysia, could you recommend me the person contact number (whatsapp or wechat) because right now I'm based in China, therefore I want to book when I'm back to Malaysia and the car is ready. Hope you could help. Thanks
Hey Chris. You could try reaching out to Tesla Club Malaysia on Facebook to see if they can help. All the best! m.facebook.com/groups/teslaownersmy/?ref=sharem.facebook.com/groups/teslaownersmy/?ref%3Dshare&exp=7ffb&mibextid=hubsqH

Did a road trip round California to Arizona and back. I reckon over 3000+km. There was once had 100% SoC and went downhill gaining till 105% 😂

Glad to hear you got a chance to experience a Tesla, D R-K!
Daren, any update on your tesla car purchase? Last year I heard you placed an order for one 🤔

Terbaik lah brother.... hope you get your own Tesla soon.
Thanks Sufian!
Keep up the good work Daren! You content are very informative!
Thanks Dave!
I am here to see how the Tesla perform going up to Genting and down, I never thought that this video made me realised how much I miss Genting 😅
Good video bro. Impressed by your passion with Tesla. Just curious other than UA-cam if u get any incentives or benefits from Tesla with your videos?

Thanks for the kinds words! Yes, moving the right stalk up once works well too.
Would love to check, if the add on enhanced autopilot and the full self driving capability options are relevant in Malaysia ?
Many Tesla owners in Malaysia are happy with the default Autopilot available on all Teslas, and are looking forward to FSD Version 12 launching in Malaysia which is a major upgrade in FSD capabilities. It may take 1-2 years to reach Malaysia.
Awesome, I like vanilla sweet cream cold brew too
hi daren..what actual different autopilot & enhance auto pilot....video u use just norm autopilot right?? thanks.
going downhill we need to use low gear for ICE, how about EV going down hill ? We not suppose to keep braking , right ?

Thanks for the kind words! Am using Apple Watch Ultra. Apple is opening their 1st official store in KL within the next 6 months.
00:19 Model Y compared with proton persona almost same in size
I once freewheeled down from genting on my bicycle and ended up in JB. Not true though.
Why is it not standby on brake? U going to accelerate when danger?😅
@@aufpathor112 you still have to brake manually when in danger, single pedal doesn’t apply to what he’s saying here
@@aufpathor112 and what if you need to e brake?
@@aufpathor112 which was why the original commenter asked why was his foot not on brake standby…
How was the power uphill and driving down hill during a downpour?

@@DarenYoong Thanks for info.
I watch your video from start to end and you still turning the steering? Is this Auto Pilot or Semi Auto..
Drivers are recommended to keep their hands on the steering wheel at all times for safety while using Autopilot.
The uphill really did suck a large part of the battery, that is a bit scary.
Yes it did!
drive more in Thailand
Look forward to be back in Thailand!
