excelent as always Laura. You know that you can control the temperature by either running the pads in series or parallel? you can hook up a switch that will run them series for low heat or parallel for high heat.
Rad project. I like how you use discarded and found stuff. The added commentary on this projects works, and I like how you still keep the style of simple music with the build process. The writing on tape still works great too. Don't stop those unique Laura Kampf bits.
I really enjoy your new idea of partly moderating a build video. I think some videos each (with and without talking) would be a great mix for the channel between your original style and the most common UA-cam approach like you did this time. You (and Jimmy) to me are more artists than content creators. Please don't get too commercial. Your ideas are great, your videography splendid. Love your work, Laura. Keep it up! Cheers from Berlin :-)
You are a beautiful artist and beautiful soul....I discovered your channel with giant pleasure, it becomes addictive for me to watch your creative work ... I love you !!!!
Laura, your creativity never ceases to amaze me. However, I think you need to go back and get another chair. It looks like this one has been claimed by your beautiful puppy!
Very good way to recycle! You can also remove a heated pad, or purchase one separately to use under a dog bed or stack of blankets for your dog as well.
Laura I just LOVE you and your work! This is a brilliant idea! I think it has broader commercial applications for offices. In every office I have been in, the women are freezing (in the Summer because of the air conditioning), and so they try and use a small space heater under their desks. These are sometimes not allowed though because they are so powerful and have greater fire risks. You could get a sponsorship from Herman Miller or any of the other large office furniture manufacturers. -Mae from Denver
Dude. that is amazing. Going on my Minnesota shop bucket list for sure. Since you're running power to the chair, you could also mount a powerstrip and phone chargers and such right to the base.
Bravo! Outstanding idea, layout & make. I have two dogs, Mother & daughter, the daughter likes to sleep in my car which doesn't have heated seats & she only gives up the drivers seat reluctantly with growls & indignation. If I made a heated seat I might never get to sit in it!
I love your videos. You are such an inspiration. I love they projects wheb smudo appears it seem a really polite company an a peacefull one too. Greetings from Argentina
Hello Laura, just a thought for an updated video on the heated seat project. Most automotive seats have a sensor or switch to detect a persons presence for safety features to actuate properly. You may wish to tie in this feature and switch the seat heater on automatically when you or smudo decides to get warmed up. Of course in the spring through fall times of the year, simply turn the master switch off or remove the plug. Love your videos!
Here in Virginia Im in my 3rd winter in the shop. I have been trying to figure out how to heat my shop as well, This is perfect!! As soon as I can get my self a welder, Im going to have to make one for myself!
Its one those why didn't I think of that moments, what a brilliant Idea, I'm definitely pinching that my shops as cold as yours, oh your dog is beautiful,
Very nice done and a very clever idea. I have back-problems and a custom made carseat that I kept when I sold the car. A few months back I took an old office chair and removed the seat part. Bolted a plate of multiplex on it and bolted the carseat including frame/rail on the multiplex. The chair is only a bit high this way. Yours is better in hight but my chair had nothing to weld so I needed to reuse the frame
Nice and now smodo the chair belongs !! Real cool project your ideas fascinate me again and again such an old base frame is still in the basement, so I only need a car seat :)) Greetings from Vienna Chris
Gute Idee!
Excellent idea! Those linear motors are great to have around...can do so much with them :) I know you said it is temporary but please be very careful with having the PS in the pocket...it needs lots of airflow for cooling.
Ah, wasn't too far from your project idea. I bet hair studios would love that chair as well! :) Your recycling projects are the best! Love how you make use of the goods throwin' away by others! More please... ;)
You obviously spend a lot of time with your dog or may have taken him/her to obedience school. I have two dogs who love being in my shop, I don't know if I could ever be without one. Great video Laura as always!
Fantastic timing! I'm about to replace the seats in my car and was considering reusing them just like this. I hadn't considered using the heaters, but now it seems like an obvious thing to do, since they'll be in a cold garage workshop. Guess I'll look for some C channel and a proper seat base!
I don't know how, but Laura manages to make each video EVEN BETTER than the previous.
I would have never thought to go get a car seat that already has a heating system. What a great build Laura
Scrap yards are one of my favourite places to be. It's full of potential to make something awesome other than a working car .. great work again :)
I like this video format with the classic Laura Kampf building shots mixed in with some on-camera comments! Awesome build.
Having a shop too big to heat is a great luxury to have - with a chair like that at least! Thanks for sharing, Laura!
excelent as always Laura. You know that you can control the temperature by either running the pads in series or parallel? you can hook up a switch that will run them series for low heat or parallel for high heat.
Smudo is so adorable in this video, and obviously loves his mum. We need more Smudo in your videos. 😊❤
6:15 The moment Laura realised that she will need to make a second seat.
Rad project. I like how you use discarded and found stuff. The added commentary on this projects works, and I like how you still keep the style of simple music with the build process. The writing on tape still works great too. Don't stop those unique Laura Kampf bits.
Your scrap yards look so clean and tidy. North American yards look like Mad Max war zones.
Love the builds reusing things. Keep it up!
I thought Laura's videos were perfect AND THEN SHE ADDED SMUDO and made them perfect-er. Awesome all around.
Smudo: Well Laura - thanks for my chair, are you making one for yourself?
LOL
A nice visit with Smudo and another chance to see your awesome talent at work.
Thank you.
Excellent creativity, Laura! Simple and effective, yet I've never seen someone else do it.
Let’s be honest, you should have called this “from old car seat to Smudo’s heated chair” 😉
And now she needs to build another chair for herself :D

My dream come true - Smudo in a starring role! Great project!!
You never cease to amaze me with your mind and the builds you come up with.
Good idea and great build. Our dog, Dixie enjoyed seeing Smudo.
Laura, I've rigged up lots of old car seats as shop stools over the years, but this totally out-classes anything I've done! Nice work!
Smudo is such a beautiful dog!! Great project by the way. Nice to hear you talking 😃
I'm constantly looking for a new office chair. Never satisfied. Awesome idea. Thanks for that.
Laura way to go! What a great up-cycling project.
I love the way you reuse things. Keep up the great work.
I love watching you work! You are so smart.
Videos like this have always been a great source of inspiration. Love watching trash evolve into treasure via creative ideas and insightful solutions.
Great video 👍🏻
I really prefer it when you talk in your videos about your motivation for your projects and a bit about the decisions along the way.
This type of imaginative project is where your mind truly shines! Great project Laura and Smudo!
This is brilliant!!!!! this is brilliant!!! copying what you did as soon as possible. Thank you
Very cool (warm) project! Smudo is such a great dog!
it's good to see you're finally getting around to having some heating
Very good way to recycle! You can also remove a heated pad, or purchase one separately to use under a dog bed or stack of blankets for your dog as well.
We love you Laura! All my family!
Go, never stop! Good bless you!
You have a fun in Russia!
I love your imagination. You are so creative. An artist of engineering.
Wow! The power supply idea is great. Super seat to have at my place in Quebec. So cold...
Well, I have watched you shiver for a couple of years now. Great idea........However, after this video I love Smudo even more. He needs a heated bed.
Such a clever idea! You’re so resourceful and innovative. Also, most adorable dog award goes to Smudo! Such a cutie! 😊 Cheers from Canada! 🇨🇦

Your dog knows that he is loved. For your fir baby and credit his is the best.👍🇨🇦
Great build, Laura. Those motors look useful. I look forward to see what you do with them. And, Smudo, let Laura sit in her chair sometimes!
What a great team - you and Smudo. You make cool things and he tests them. 😅❤
Your videos are much better when you talk like in this one, where we understand what you are thinking!
Keep it up!
Great video! And that is one magnificent Doggo.
Cuteness factor 1,000,000.... ❤
Excellence. I love your dog. Such a handsome lad.
Wonderful build as always!
I've also never seen anyone make a shot of tires look so good!
You seem to have an endless supply of great ideas!
Dude. that is amazing. Going on my Minnesota shop bucket list for sure. Since you're running power to the chair, you could also mount a powerstrip and phone chargers and such right to the base.
Laura your projects are getting better and better.Amazing job!!You inspire a lot of us with great ideas.
I love how you tell your stories, how you mix cinematic footage with your feed back, really awesome and the work you do of course
You get my like for Smudo. The project, while definitely awesome, is just icing on the cake...
Excellent project, really inspire me to learn new things and get stuck in (Yorkshire phrase, sorry).
Smudo is such a handsome dog, love him

"Thank you for making this heated seat for me, Laura!" -Smudo, obviously ;)
Love this! Looking forward what you come up with for those motors.
I love your videos. You are such an inspiration. I love they projects wheb smudo appears it seem a really polite company an a peacefull one too. Greetings from Argentina
This is such a great idea!
Also, I think I want to see some Smudo stickers at the next Maker Faire.
Resourceful and interesting, I can't wait to see what you do with the spare parts. Thanks again Laura!
This is so cool! I love your projects and how you just jump right in and get stuff done!
Really nice idea and probably more comfortable than those add on heating pads. Great video! Thanks for sharing!
Love your style, thanks for sharing your knowledge.

Wow you found some luxury car seat in the garbage! By the way, awesome video!
Great solution, Laura. Now you need to make one for your dog. :-)

Smudo is so adorable. Love the chair idea, I've been looking for a new chair, but I might just have to take a trip down the junk yard! Great video!
Awesome chair! I like how you explained things throughout the video. And Smudo is such a good boy :)
Who downvotes this? It’s mesmerizing and inspiring!
Lol I just adore your pup. ❤️
OoooHHH! Now I have to modify my (unheated) shop stool/chair. This is a brilliant idea.
Nice and now smodo the chair belongs !! Real cool project your ideas fascinate me again and again such an old base frame is still in the basement, so I only need a car seat :))

Chris
I envy you your nice place, and now with a chair...
