There ain't anyone on this planet who has any meaningful criticism of Mr Lewis' playing. He has it all, dynamics, speed, chops the whole bag, everything one would need to be a very in demand musician. Phenomenal.
U know when percussionists communicate easily with other instrumentalists, especially drummers, it just brings out the goose bumps in you. What they did at 7:14 just made my day. Lord have mercy
I shouted so loud in the library when I heard what he did with the floor tom at 6:22. I almoooostt got kicked out because of sheer brilliance by Larnell. HUUUUUUUUUGEEEE shoutout to the percussionist at 7:13 understanding to add that extra sauce to that Latin groove Larnell decided to put through. This video changed my life.
Ever met Larnell in person? Great attitude = Great drumming! He clearly has one of the greatest attitudes and dispositions of any human being I've ever met! Primo set!!!
I met him once on tour with Snarky Puppy and he is very down to earth and positive. Also very tall, my hands felt like infant hands when shaking hands with him
Okay so I've always said that Neil Peart, John Bonham, Ian Paice, Tommy Aldridge, etc etc etc, are great drummers cause that's what I grew up listening to, but is it me or is Larnell Lewis on a whole different level along with a lot of other gospel drummers? This was absolutely mind-blowing!
I've watched it at least 5 times a day since it came out. Mono was grooving so hard and Nate on percussion smashed, he dont get enough props. Anyone who makes the top of the cymbal stands a part of the solo is a genius. Who thinks that up?
MONO NEON.... Dude is a BEAST!!!! He has old videos here on youtube where he is playin like in his bedroom. Lol but yeah he up there lookin like snoop brother tho
The keyboardist seemed to be executing His section almost effortlessly ! What a funky and intricate piece With a fast pace drive all the way till the climax of the finale
overflowenterprises Cory Henry......is a keyboard genius. And the main (of several) keyboardists in SNARKY PUPPY and also the leader of CORY HENRY AND THE FUNK APOSTLES Hundreds of videos right here. 😎🤜🤛
Guitar player here. Love your videos. That pause in his playing towards the end literally made me jump when he came back down! The cymbal work! Dude...just fantastic right there!
@@jonathanbormann5077 Nate Werth struggling ? XD Listen to the drum solo again, but this time listen to all the empty space that he fills up - he makes the solo so smooth. Nate & Mono low-key carrying from the back
Yet again another reason why I love Sput and Larnell also Ghost note as well they literally have a great sound the meshes with whoever the artist is and Thanks for the reaction Josh.
Wow man!!! Drum solo is like a story telling, I love it! Some of the great drummers are watching and look at their faces!! Their reactions are amazing! Theres a lot of great drummers nowadays technically speaking they all the same. The only thing is how they cooked it specially in your heart. You will feel them deep down in your soul. That's my opinion.
Top level drummers that have their feet highlighted on camera should check out airplane pilot shoes. I could be wrong. Anyway, wicked cool shoes are necessary.
Joshua love your channel! Almost all the drummers you have checked out needs to be respected but Larnell Lewis is in a league of his own. And your right about practicing after seeing Larnell we as drummers have no choice but to learn from these great drummer!!
I've never seen a drummer slide their stick on the high hat. Dayyum. I'm not a drummer or any instrument player but always been fascinated with all the artistry
JC, dude , ever since I started watching this channel I can't believe the unbelievable drummers and chops simply incredible!! Thanks for putting it out there. Have a GREAT WEEKEND!!
Not a lot of people know that Mark Sheppard (Crowley) is/was a pretty accomplished session drummer! He played drums for a bunch of indie bands in the 70's in Europe...
Actually this is not Snarky Puppy with a few extras thrown in. It's the Ghost Note band which happens to have a couple of Puppies involved. Totally different horn section and keys and guitars and I never saw Mono with Snarky either. They're both great bands, this video is one of my favorites.
Josh! This was one of your best ones. I saw it sometime ago but it was well worth having it in my library and seeing it again. When I first say your station, it was a little deceptive at first because I didn't know (you) played that good. But that cut in with the hot sauce and then your reaction when he threw the sticks in the air and hit that last note with his hands.... I would pay to see that one. You and Larnell.
I've watched the entire Zildjian Live series, both seasons 1 and 2. The others are fun no doubt and there's some great stuff, but Larnell COMPLETELY spoiled it for everyone else. He sets the bar SO DAMNED HIGH.

I imagine the biggest critic of Larnell Lewis.... is Larnell Lewis
Those drums need a cigarette after that 😂👌
U know when percussionists communicate easily with other instrumentalists, especially drummers, it just brings out the goose bumps in you. What they did at 7:14 just made my day. Lord have mercy
Me: I'm pretty good at playing drums
Larnell: hold my sticks
🤣🤣🤣
This whole band is SO stupid good, it's almost not possible to call stand-out moments.
Larnell is not just an incredible multi-instrument musician, he’s such a performer. He’s got real showmanship
Josh did you notice the cymbal hit with his hands at the end😂😂
Sidney RIley 😂😂😂😂😂nope he didn't!!!!!!
Sidney RIley it’s amazing 😉
Saw that right away. Lit
That was CRAZY!

I loved it.
Tony Lancer this percussionist is one of the best I’ve seen. He has it all. The flow and the Vhibe
Yessssssssssssseeeeeeeeeeee
And then right after 6:22, he hit the freaking nuts holding the cymbals in place, and not on accident, like as part of the solo
Nate Werth from Snarky! Go watch We Like It Here to see him and Larnell kill it together some more. Those dudes know how to dial in.
Ever met Larnell in person? Great attitude = Great drumming! He clearly has one of the greatest attitudes and dispositions of any human being I've ever met! Primo set!!!

Bruh! Larnell almost made me throw my phone😂😂😂😂💯💯💯💯🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Larnell is a dynamic drummer his accents, timing, and innovation is ridiculously great ! Reminds me of a Dave Weckl groove.
The beat is so simple yet ties in soo well with everything else.
Not for the faint of heart! This set was otherworldly!!
The percussionist tho 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Nate werth and the whole of ghost note are 100% fire
Dudes addition to the latin groove part of the solo was amazing
Nate is Larnell's wing man no. 1. Holy crap he's on point! Seriously 6:48, amazing timing.
It’s a whole lot of stanky face from me and so many others! So much joy pouring from you Larnell, and it’s intoxicating! Love it
2:02 mono caught u off guard, ye me too

2:38 -3:06.......I replayed that about 20 times before I could move on to the rest of the song. CRAZY GROOVE!!!
and the percussionist 🤣🤣
Right...lol. Looked like he was struggling there for a minute.

All these musicians, holy crap. That bass player and his sock, slaying so hard in the pocket. Love this, thanks for sharing!
Whole band was killin’! And we not gone sleep on that percussionist! He was doin’ some stuff!
Larnell Lewis is at the top level. He doesn't play drums he is the lord of drummers. Let's humble and appreciate this highly gifted Man.

When the artists inspires you to go practice ...THAT SAYS IT ALL!!
That band plays TIGHT. love to see them live.

Just enter SNARKY PUPPY in UA-cam search. Many, many videos. OK , I know that ain’t live but lots of great recordings of “live”. 🤜🤛
Top level drummers that have their feet highlighted on camera should check out airplane pilot shoes. I could be wrong. Anyway, wicked cool shoes are necessary.
Love his drumming style, he made them drums talk!
0:56 is a very underrated moment man. That break🔥🔥 Super tight urrgh
constant tears in my eyes beautiful music beautifully played
It’s Crowley from supernatural. I’m surprised you knew who he was
Joshua love your channel! Almost all the drummers you have checked out needs to be respected but Larnell Lewis is in a league of his own. And your right about practicing after seeing Larnell we as drummers have no choice but to learn from these great drummer!!

Joshua "let Dem cymbals sing" Crawford hahaha my man. Love your vids. Keep music appreciation going!!
Man, love your channel! Some awesome musicians!
Midtop vans all day ! TREMENDOUS !
For Leonard it's the same hit the cymbal with hand or stick. This guy is a beast! I don't want to fight with him! Stunning performance!
One of the best I have seen!!!! My God!
Lewis is in the same league and Graham Lear (gino vannelli) Dave Weckl (Chick Corea).
Original "Snarky Puppy" out of Texas. One of the nastiest there is! Love him.
You no you’re cold when other too drummers and musicians rehabs a crazy reaction to you playing.😂😂😂

Shout out to the bassist playing a right handed bass left handed. Thats how my dad played too
Good God & goosebumps!!!

That was amazing! Awesome song.
This reminds me of the vibe from Snarky Puppy - Lingus.
I'll just be putting my sticks down now, getting on all fours, and crawling quietly out the back door....

Man this should be a complete band reaction dammmm
Pff so cleann 😫😫❤️ i want to play drums again after this
I don't wanna play no more🤣
Discovered this by chance. The level of artistry and professionalism displayed by this assembly of cats is galactic. Not of this world.
Been waiting on this reaction for the longest!!!
Larnell drums represent bro
Basically the core members of Snarky Puppy with a few guests added.
Can’t go wrong widat. 🏆🤜🤛

Soon after I posted that comment I learned more about Ghost Note and realized I had it kinda backwards. 🥴

When he tapped on the lugs 💀💀💀
I like the end.. when larnel lewiss use his hand to punch his crash for the end.. great...
Left handed bassist playing on a right-handed bass upside-down. Awesome.
And mono neon was popping it like popcorn Non-Stop!
The guy on the base is laying down! Badass!
So we're just going to ignore the reverse high hat hits at 6:15 then? I screeched!
I've watched the entire Zildjian Live series, both seasons 1 and 2. The others are fun no doubt and there's some great stuff, but Larnell COMPLETELY spoiled it for everyone else. He sets the bar SO DAMNED HIGH.
You can't teach musicality and the drummer has a vivid rhythmical imagination. As every other musician demonstrated in spades. Very cool.
Mono!!! 🔥 for those that don’t know that’s the bass player, he is insane! & he plays with the bass upside down 😭🐐🐐🐐
SO JOSH YOU FINALLY GOT TO THIS REACTION
Maaaannn! Bro man is making that bass sing!
What I saw I think is illegal in 20 states. It is that great! I'll never listen to music the same way again, I can't unhear that MASTERPIECE.
6:24 the reaction tho😂😂😂
6:59, the kid with his over heads off was me all video
Larnell has a brother name Ricky Lewis, he’s a wicked drummer too. He plays for the singer the weekend
