Im a old woman pushing 70 i would float down that river just for it being so gorgeous ..glad you caught a muskie by good lord the scenery was beautiful i cant do it anymore but i sure enjoy watching you doing it i bought that closed faced spinning reel you showed hope im still around next year to use it some more ..but you made a old woman smile with your trip you shared with us
Way to go John. At first, I thought you may have caught the dog🙀. That place has beautiful geology. The waterfall is beyond imagination. Thanks for sharing it. STAY SAFE 😷
Thanks as always. Appreciate the consistent quality and calm adventures. Love the places you’ve been wading and floating. And as always, love the scriptures.
Awesome that you took time to check on dog. Me and my little granddaughter were worried about the dog the whole video. We have been watching your videos since you first got started. God bless you brother.
John, turned out to be a great fishing adventure! Congratulations on that sweet Muskie on your last cast. Definitely a place to go back and fish again in the Spring! Blessings! 🎣👊🏼🇺🇸
I target musky a LOT, and it's crazy that you the hellgramite guy caught a musky on none other than a hellgramite!! That's incredibly amazing!! Very cool!!
That popper lure you was using for awhile sounded just like a bubble machine lawnmower my son had about 45 years ago when he was a little guy. Those Muskies are fighters. I was watching this while piled up in bed under my quilt and watching you handling those fish in that cold water was making me cold just watching. Happy fishing, and congratulations on your big catch.
I know this is late and it's post-Thanksgiving. But...I wanted to say "Thank you" for all that you have done this year John in updating and posting to your UA-cam Channel for all of your fans. It is greatly appreciated during this time when people can't really get out as much as they want due to the rain here in the East, Covid19 keeping stores closed, etc.. You're channel has been a great way of living the dream by watching you're antics with your trips. I am thankful for you my man....
Of the 3 of us, none had handled a musky before. John is a humble fisherman. Didn’t mind the help netting the fish. And didn’t care to have a hero shot. @creekfishingadventures - “The People Angler”
Wow! What a gorgeous stretch! Congrats on your first musky. I’ve caught a couple in Canada and I can see how guys get hooked. You’re so lucky to have those fisheries nearby. Thanks for posting these!
I once hooked a carp by accident while fishing for largemouth bass. I think it was a similar experience. At first, I though I was snagged, then the fish just started swimming off like it didn't care whether it was hooked or not. I felt like I had caught a mini-submarine. Took me a while to wear him out. Congratulations on hooking a Musky monster! It's one of he great pleasures of fishing, when the unexpected happens - like a surprise birthday party.
We were kayak fishing for bass in a creek and caught a huge Chain Pickerel. Caught quite a few huge bluegill and crappie too. Great day out on the water for us and you guys.
Very nice brother. If I turned off the sound I'd have bet your video was shot up north here. It's like a Wisconsin welcoming committee...world's friendliest lab, bass or crappie fishing and catching your musky on "accident". Your storyline certainly crossed geographical boundaries. Tight lines my friend.
Good catches John. I have seen only 1 musky in my life and it was on Watts Bar lake. It followed a worm right up to the side of the boat and swirled away as I pulled it out of the water. I was not sure what I saw. My Dad said hurry up and throw back in, but it was too late. I was probably 8 or 9 years old. I had never heard of Musky until that day. Another 8 to 10 years later and the next thing you are interested in is the taste of lipstick and the smell of gasoline.
Nice Muskie! They’re a funny fish because when they hit they make you think you’re snagged...then 10 seconds later you realize you’re in trouble, especially if you’re not using a steel leader!
Man what a beautiful river with the rock ledges and the color changes going on. Lots of small mouth, the token rock bass and Musky...Cant ask for anything much more then that ...Well Maybe a 5 guys burger and fries....LOL
Sweet Congratulations my fellow Tennessen! You cant seem to go wrong with your trusty go to lure. One day when im living back home in Polk county. Im defiantly gonna put that river on my must fish at least once list. Only target for me is catching any fish and enjoying Gods Creation. Tennessee has some of the most beautiful hidden treasure in mother nature. Thanks for your work Dalton. God Bless Brother.
Ain't no better bait than a helgramite, because it can catch a wide variety of fish. I love a plastic crawdad for the small mouth bass and a baby duck lure for the muskie.
Awesome catch we fish for big muskies up here in north central pa. Just to let you know be careful when you get them under the gills with your hands. They have a seriously sharp gill plate that will lay you open bad if you grab them wrong. Awesome video and congrats on your first musky welcome to the club. Once you feel that power your hooked for life.
That dog is a girl! She will follow you all the way to the boat ramp at shellsford. Then she will run home in about 30 minutes. Her home is by where you started.
Fished the same stretch of water, those musky seem to be lethargic even in the summer months. So your creature bait maybe the way to go all year. Maybe a large worm or craw. Congrats on the catch, nice vid. 😎
John, I wanna hit " that river" too.. I have a canoe coming from my father seeing I sold my kayaks, he and I plan to float the river and catch a few ourselves. Great catches!
Congrats,on your musky.I caught a musky by accident in early October, this year bass fishing from my kayak on my home lake. I always joked it would be my worst nightmare to catch a musky, luckily he was hooked in the side of the mouth,so it turned out ok.
Just be prepared for a musky no matter what...I have tried three times to target only smallmouth...no matter how small the lure...even a bitsy minnow...a musky takes it...last time it was a 30 minute fight on 6lb test before the musky just decided it was done with me and just swam away. great video!!
your reaction when you finally got the musky in the net reminds me of when I landed my first (and only) musky . such an awesome fish... something about something big , slimy and toothy gets my blood pumping .
Dude I was almost not wanting to get one just because I wasn’t sure how to handle them. I hope to come up that way next year and get some pike for practice
I live in upper East Tennessee and we have Native Musky and Native Southern Walleye which get bigger than the northern strain. I can back up with pictures a bunch of walleye between 8-13 pounds with pics and musky close to 50 inches in the river here. Very fun to catch but very slimy and they have a smell like you have handled a bunch of pennies.
what river is that? My goodness, those rock shelves are beautiful and they are everywhere. that dog knows where he is. He just likes making friends. I love dogs. they are far more intelligent than most people think. It's nice that he trusts people. hopefully he doesn't run into a crazy idiots.
....nothing like being in kayak or canoe and having a 20 to 30 pound Muskie following lure to side of boat slowly going under lure and boat laughing at you.....on crystal clear north Wisconsin river...but I’ve also caught and released many...seen a few while scuba diving up North....
My favorite pike and musky lure is a Mepps #5 Aglia spinner.I have caught tons of pike on them with a gold or silver blade. They also work good on big bass to.That looks like the Collins river your fishing i live about 1 hour from there in Murfreesboro?
I really appreciate that you guys prioritized getting the musky back over getting glam shots. THAT'S sportsmanship.
Glad you called the owner of the dog too.
9:59 “thought I was stuck but a big fish was swimming off with it”. Awesome.
That’s crazy that you actually caught one your first time. And on a helgramite
“That’s a decent smally”

a HUGE musky and a lab in one trip. So cool.
Musky....the snag that moves....classic
Ok, now I am a believer in the Hellgrammite! Beautiful river too.
Thanks as always. Appreciate the consistent quality and calm adventures. Love the places you’ve been wading and floating. And as always, love the scriptures.
What a show ! They call them the fish of a thousand casts for a reason. What a beautiful stream, keep up the good work.
No way I was about to ask for a muskellunge video
Have a blessed holiday man
Huge congrats on your first Muskie!! That's awesome man! And I'm so happy to hear that the doggo side-story had a happy ending too ❤
Awesome that you took time to check on dog. Me and my little granddaughter were worried about the dog the whole video. We have been watching your videos since you first got started. God bless you brother.
Isn’t that why we fish? Fun to catch some fish and then, once in a while, we get into one. You have quite a talent to find beautiful places to fish.
Love muskie fishing such a blast if you catch one
What an amazing trip! Loved Bonnie the lab + monster musky! Really beautiful bayou. God bless boys! Keep rocking!
Dude that top water sounded like a giant aquarium pump... really cool looking place, thanks for sharing John. God bless.
That one more cast can be fruitful at times. Love It! Thanks for sharing your awesome experience and God Bless!
Congratulations on the first musky!! Such a great feeling when you hook into one of those. Keep it up John!

Dude, that reel just looks so good with that green scheme and it sounds so good on hook up and when fish runs. Nice Musky! Great video, man!

Start small and end big. Nothing like a Muskie to make your day.
Great job 👏
Awesome catch! That's one on my bucket list. And the views of that river were beautiful. Look forward to seeing you go back there!!

Amen! Now that was definitely a bonus catch! Wow!
Good luck guys catch some big ones
Even a slow day of fishing boats a good day at work.
Honestly this might be one of your best videos sometimes it’s not about the fish you catch but sometimes just talking and showing us awesome spots
Ain't no better bait than a helgramite, because it can catch a wide variety of fish. I love a plastic crawdad for the small mouth bass and a baby duck lure for the muskie.
Another nice , peaceful day . Catching a couple of nice ones too . Looks good on ya´.
It would awesome to see you fully explain, for us dummies, how you fish the hellgrammite

Cool video. Beautiful place for sure. I would have had to handle it myself and get a pic. Great video.
