Please give some advice on how to kind a commercial bottling company...and how you got started..I'm from New Hampshire and I saw that you were look like it was the honey from Littleton New Hampshire and I've been making my own barbecue sauce for about five years and all of friends have been telling me to bottle and sell my barbecue sauce and I recently moved to Nevada for two years and total strangers have said the same thing to sell and bottle my barbecue sauce so please give some advice on what to look for for a bottling company
I have been making my own BBQ and Hot sauce for three years and yet to find a co packer that can do it as fast as we can, but i also own my own commercial Kitchen and own a farm were everything is grown and raised .
Yes. My copacker has a minimum order size of a hundred cases. There is a few for wash down after each run. the other fees don't cut from the co-packer.
So do you have the packaging/glasses sent to them, then they fill order? Do you need to get any food licenses or safety certificates to work with them?
No sorry misunderstood. You share your recipe with them under NDA they then tell you how much it cost to make per case for the size glass you pick. Not all co-packers allow you to be there every time they make it. If you'd like find me on Instagram "letsgetswanky" shoot me a DM we could chat at some point.
THAT BOTTLING MACHINE IS BOSS! I have a secret barbeque sauce as well and would like to have that machine... how can i get a machine like that one please? I'm trying to open my business and just needed a helping hand.
Nice video!! I want to start selling my own BBQ sauce too...I was to scare to take the first step. Thanks to you I believe I can! Love that you take the time to share with us your proces!!Thanks for the motivation
This sauce looks very tasty. I love spicy sauces so it's right up my alley. Thanks for sharing. Watched, liked and commented as Curt and Care Family Vlogs
Thanks for sharing! We are actually doing some research on shipping for sales purposes as well. Did you select glass bottles instead of plastic to help with the leaking and pressure while shipping? How did you get around delivering the product without leakages?
Question???...I've been growing super hot peppers for 7 years,I've been wanting to start making sauce, where do I start..I did come up with a name& etc for my sauce,& I've made the sauce, but iam not getting no where with this..
@@SymanSaysFarms thank you, we are starting out been working for 4 months and bottling ourselves. Trying to find the best way to sanitize quickly. Boiling over 100 bottles at a time isnt working well.
My dad has been making amazing bbq sauce for years. I want to help him get it bottled and on the market. Nothing crazy. He had a business partner a few years ago that was supposed to help him with this but it fell through. What are the first steps I should take to get the ball rolling?
I would say start local. Maybe find a commercial kitchen you could rent so you can make a couple hundred bottles and go to some farmers markets but if you were trying to get into the grocery chains and you have to find a co-packer in your area.
What's up Mr. Swanky how can I get in contact with you by email or phone? I have a sauce I'm trying to get patent myself but only a few know about the sauce which is my relative like my mom and sisters
Thanks... That is one loaded question. I would say make a solid recipe that you could repeat. When your friends and family say it's worth paying for... live on Google for about a hundred hours researching how to bottle BBQ sauce ;-) Then find a local co-packer and go for it!!! Reach out to me along the way if you need anything.
@@SymanSaysFarms Thanks for all your info. Approximately how much should 100 case cost me to produce, I'm been taken because it was my first time. Thanks
I have been searching diligently on how to bring my sugar free ketchup & BBQ sauce to market. Finding a bottler co packer near me in Canada has been challenging.
NIIIIICE!!! I really appreciate you documenting your future $multimillion sauce journey. I hope to be right there with you along with Sweet Baby Ray and the rest of them! Also, could you let us know about what we are looking at price range for a run? And were you able to tap into their current restaurant/grocery store customers if they have any?
So awesome! I really want to create and sell my own sauces starting from home! Are there certain preservatives that you need to use for homemade sauces?? Thanks in advance!
First thing put your recipe together and then equipment for your packaging and make sure that you have your machinery equipment everything that you need cuz you can possibly do this from home to cut down the cost
Nice video, I am much like you, I've been using a co packer for about a year now, I have 4 different sauces and gearing up for the annual week long festival again this year. Last year was our first time. (Only had 2 sauces) and done extremely well, I'm not in any stores yet, not sure what my wholesale pricing should be. Would love your opinions and any input! I'll send you a message thru Instagram I am Badlucks bbq
The copacker has a recall plan for all items made in there kitchen. Once a recall is determined they would notify me if my product was effected. I would then need to locate and discard all effected product. Getting reimbursed as a whole different story.
You keep samples, reimbursement would be a challenge you. To determine who was at fault. Ask for shelf life testing yes the kobacker should help you with that your pH level will determine a lot. I'm personally not concerned about recalls. If I was, I probably would have never gone into business.
This is how it's done when you get to this size. It's actually illegal in our state for you to bottle and resell your own unless you own a commercial kitchen.
Great video. Was able to gather some very useful information on the process. Thanks so much.
Do you still use the same copacker? Thanks
Thank u for just getting right to the point .. I've been trying to research and they wanna talk soooooo long about nothing omg
I don't have time for all that talking. Thanks for the comments. Let me know if you have anymore questions.

Did the co-packer give you options for bottle selection or did you have to purchase them yourself and give them to the co-packer?
They gave me the option in the recommendation. I knew I wanted 12 oz glass.
@@SymanSaysFarms Thank You so much for your response.

Great information!! Did you create your own bottle label or was it done in house via the co packer?
We did our label on our own.

Nice. Congrats
Cause it’s your sauce and you want to mass produce as much as possible that’s why
What laws do i gotta look up to can/bottle stuff on my farm once i build a commercial kitchen and have it inspected?
Do co packer have minimum orders? Do they charge upfront fees for your needs or do you pay on a different schedule?

Could you recommend a co packer for me, i have one sauce but copacking was high, so i had to set the price high and it's not workingout well
Where do you get your bottles from?
We work with the CO packer. They source the bottles
thanks for the video I'm planning to start my own bbq sauce bottling as well.
I hope to do more video about this soon
Please what kind preservatives do you use to give it a long shelf life
We use honey as our natural preservative.
Just wanted to say keep up the awesome content! Im starting to sell my own bbq sauce and hopefully one day operate on the same level as you guys!
Thanks Tyler!!! We truly appreciate the support and best of luck to you and your sauce project. Let us know if we can help in any way.
How can you do this by hand? For those of us without machinery, but want the “sealed” look
Buy shrink wrap bottle tops and dip them into boiling water.
This helped me out because I myself want to start my own sauce business
this is so inspiring!
Thanks for the content I started my bbq sauce company a couple of years ago , you helped me out . Peace

what do they do to sterilize the bottles prior to filling?
Pre washed and filled over 180°

Who takes responsibility for a recall. For example if glass is found in the sauce. Or bacterial/envirmental issues.
