One of these beasts comes thru Ingatestone station every Thursday about 23:00 and rattles the hell out of my cab office... As soon as I hear it coming I run into the platform to watch... Always pulling 3 or 4 yellow Network Rail coaches!! Love the power of it!!!!
I used to live right near stalybridge railway station and I could hear a class 37 from at least a mile away in the early hours of the morning in the late 1980s thrashing its arse off on a freight train happy days I love the sound of class 37's they're beasts!!!😎
That be Gretta's favourite train I think. 4 Tractors and 3 Nuke Flasks . Lol. Those Drs Drivers know how to drive the old girls. I bet they will miss them when they have all gone. Some brilliant clips in this one. 😀👍
I can still see (and hear!) one of these beauties coming down into Cardiff, at 8.30 every morning Hope they don't disappear from the line for a long time....
@@spottingscotland6534 plus the other two "spare" locos were needed elsewhere so got a free tow, saves on drivers moving them and fuel to get them there
Oh that is a sound that warm the cockles of your heart & they are such great engines! Can anyone tell me what are in the white box which are being pulled by the Class 37
Oh wow...somebody on another video (of Deltics) said the Class 55s sound smoother while the 37s sound "agricultural"...that's a great word for it! And that's NOT meant as an insult, believe me!
I reckon that nuclear waste would rot down on my compost heap! I could add some graphite to shut-up the neutron activity a bit 💥☠️😁. Maybe run some heat exchanger pipes through it to warm-up me bath water. I love '37s, what a glorious racket they make! Nearly as loud as the complaints from my neighbours about my nuclear compost reactor 😷👀🤕💥☠️😁
It's so If one class 37 fails they have got another locomotives to keep the train moving as its expensive to hire a Thunderbird class 57 to come and move the failed train plus it would be dangerous to leave a railway like blocked with nuclear flasks.
They're one of the most reliable locomotives ever built 60 years later still going strong and thats why there's 102 still in existence out of 328 built as they can handle any route availability and that's why there are so many preserved on heritage railways! I wish I could have a real one but got nowhere to put it lol I can't wait until the diesel galas start up again after lockdown this year!!!😎

2:20, that sound combination of the 20 and 37 is just beautiful 😍

the 37 has the most brutal diesel sound ever! :D
That’s fantastic I love the sound of the class 37s

0:40 FOUR Class 37s! Pleasure overload !! All in the same livery as well.
what were they pulling there was only pulling 3 wagons..............
dapto234 nuclear flasks, usually this movement would be carried by two locos (just incase one fails they can still move it)

Some great Flask trains in that impressive bunch and as always👍 Thumbs Up👍

The white box I think you are on about is a Nuclear flask
@@swearingkevo oh thank you & I have always wondered what they were 🙏👍
They carry nuclear waste for reprocessing.,hope that helps explain this to you .-bud the painter-
maybe this Canadian is just used to hearing the GMD/EMD 645's... those class 37 engines sound like wet gurgled farts.
Think of them more as a tractor 😂😂
Heathen .
I love the chugging sound of that train 💚🚂💨
No idea what to ask for Xmas? A Deadcat might be a useful thing. 😄
FILMED A CLASS 37 YESTERDAY AT WHITBY FROM NORTH YORKSHIRE MOORS RAILWAY
Super good collection of Class 37 :)

That 4 in convoy to take the nuclear flask was a bit over the top wasnt it lol
Steven Thornton the 1st two failed when leaving Crewe that morning so they just wacked another two on the front, so the two inside are dead
@@swearingkevo oh i see sorry didn't notice the lack of diesel smoke from the other 2 engines
Curious to know more about the yellow network rail carriages & what they're used for?
There's a few different ones - mobile workshop/toolroom, conference room/classroom, rail inspection & measurement car and canteen.
Class 37… easy to identify, there is a Class 40 with more bogies.
I assume the four locos at 1:52 are for resiliency and are pulling Nuclear fuel/waste ?
Yes Correct.
Yeh i see them in East Lothian. Torness nuclear power station close by me.

Love your humour sir . Hats off to you , and your green energy solution .
Just wondering, does anyone know why, there are unusually a pair of 37’s heading the transportation of the nuclear flask trains.
That should read usually, by the way.
They used to run that service all the time with class 57s and 20s, now only 68/88s

@@justinobrien3593 Ok, thank you very much for the explanation.
why did DRS always double up their 37's
Its so they still keep moving if one loco should fail, mainly a safety measure
Matt Crompton more so when pulling the nuclear flasks

I'll take the sound of a Deltic class 55 over these any day.
why 4 37 for those nuclear waste wagons ??
John Last . Two broke down so they added two more.
Fantastic
Is 1:45 pulling nuclear waste?
Joe Borg - yes
Yes, they alway run two locos in case one fails so they can keep moving.
Whats with the 2 locos and 2 container wagons? What are they carting?
Nuclear waste.
@@jaimieboy999 No mate, that is not Nuclear waste.
@@fdx840 what is it then mate?
@@jaimieboy999 It is nuclear, but it is not waste. It's very expensive.

Class 37 pulls coaches
Mars B The more you know!
i do like the old diesels but the smoke they are pouring out is crazy they should be condemned
No way... they are historic!

2 or 4 stroke?
Four.
