My brother owned an abattoir and a butcher shop. It was located next door to my uncles bakery and I worked at both from age 6 to 16. I hated it at the time but now I consider myself to be insanely lucky to have these skills. I'd butter Paul's bread anyday!
Lol fantastic segment in the kitchen with Stephen 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 weekly please lol. As an Aussie and we did what Stephen did with bread dough and Paul was saying you can’t do that…we would say “she’ll be right mate” lol ❤️❤️❤️
I'm guessing when Paul first signed on to Bake Off, even he didn't know how much fun he would eventually have working with great comedians and comedy writers like Colbert, James Acaster, Lee Mack and David Mitchell.
He has definitely come around to the silly side. I was thinking the hosts and all comedians on the stand up for cancer segments have prepared him for shows like this.
That was truly amazing! Following Paul Hollywood and doing it all in a suit was seriously impressive. I wanted to see your finished product! I bet it tasted great!
It is so true about bread being hard to master. The first loaves I made were so bad that even the crows out in the yard wouldn’t eat them. Now that I have the recipe figured out, it is easy. 50 pound bag of flour is less than $20 out here.
This was INFINITELY entertaining. I don’t remember ever having commented on a video but I just watched the full show and had to watch the segment again. I want more Colbert and Paul Hollywood. They’re like an old time comedy duo with Hollywood as the straight man. Still smiling over Colbert’s goopy dough covered hands frantically patting at his dough in a way I totally recognized both from attempting a recipe over my head, and trying that gym class I never went to a second time. And the octopus plait-dance with the plop of their breads side by side to end it all. Couldn’t have been better if it was choreographed.
I laughed so much during this. However, I must say, my respect level for Paul Hollywood is so high that I hate the thought of an American version of The Great British Baking Show. We aren't worthy. Everything in american cooking shows are about hardships the contestants have faced and how they were homeless when they were 4 years old, etc. It's never about THE COOKING! So I hope this version of the GBBS will still be About The Cooking! That's why I watch their shows all the time.

They were so good together that they should work together at least once per week and entertain Brits, Americans and the rest of the world. Bravo 👏👏👏
I love Paul. He got me through COVID, moving to an empty place with no TV. Only my phone...He held me together.
Always good to see and hear Paul. That man oozes charm and wit.
he is a sleeze bag
I usually skip cooking segments (on any show) as I find them very awkward but that was so relaxed and funny.
Should check out Julia child and David Letterman segments they are pretty good.
This was a wonderful segment. I'd love to see more of this kind of thing.
